History

Established in 2013.

We are family owned and operated. We would like to offer our service as a legitimate tree service with outstanding equipment, training, insurance and experience I started climbing trees when I was 16 years old, now 27 I have had a few great teachers and a lot of experience. My brother and I started the company out of a pickup truck and 1 chainsaw. Now we are one of two tree services in northern nevada with a 75′ bucket truck. Also we have a 2014 bobcat and backhoe to handle very demanding lot clearing, defensible space and various other tasks. Being an elite tree sevice is an honor in northern Nevada.

I grew up in a military home which taught me perseverance and integrity among many other values. I am a 9 year Bering Sea commercial fisherman and made the decision to resign from that and be a permanent Arborist. Trees and my customers are my passion. Not many things make me feel better than a satisfied customer and a job well done.

UNBELIEVABLE. I called 3 services to get an estimate on one tree removal. My neighbor predicted 800 $. On estimate was 820, another was 780, THESE GUYS said 430 (ish. I can’t remember exact number. They even said their Unilocal special would make it about 400). Of course, I said GREAT! They came on the day expected and cut the tree. No perceived problem there. I just got an email invoice for 1500 $. As in. FIFTEEN HUNDRED. I called the guy– he tried to deny it, said he said 1500, and that the office emailed me an estimate, which they DID NOT. After some extremely strong words (is anyone else tired of services trying to swindle them?), as I completely lost my s**t and begged him to take me to court, then he says he’ll be reasonable at 700 $. …I am a firey rage right now.

Called to schedule an estimate — should have known better when the girl I talked to didn’t ask for my phone number. Explained that it was a very busy time of year for me to leave work, and she assured me that they could do it. Needless to say — no call no show. Guess what — no business from me! Ever. I thought they did a good job! Had our White Maple trimmed so we wouldn’t have to worry this winter. I should have had another tree company do it! When I called over our tree breaking and hitting our house on our first storm this winter I was told that they «can’t predict branches breaking.» That’s like a plumber saying the can’t predict a pipe leak on a rusted pipe! Then they wanted to charge me 850 just to come look at the damage.
Two other tree companies came out for free, they told me Battle Born did not storm proof my tree and did a «shoty» job at trimming it. Actually made snow weight more of a problem because of how they trimmed. I would go to Cascade Tree instead, they are affordable and will do it right! Next storm I won’t have to worry about the twelve branches (smallest on 4″ diameter) falling on my house and power lines connected to my house! Partly because they already fell but mostly because another company will be trimming my tree correctly!

9÷23÷15 — Wednesday — Called for tree service. Left message on what seemed to be a female’s personal voicemail — there was no announcement that I had reached the office of Battle Born.
9÷24÷15 — Thursday — My call was returned and I was told the owner would be at my house the following day between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.
9÷25÷15 — Friday — An employee showed up instead of the owner and he was an hour and a half late. He was knowledgable and friendly and gave me an estimate written on binder paper. He apologized and said he didn’t have any estimate forms. The bid seemed on the high side but I was impressed with the employee’s knowledge of identifying my trees and his recommendations so I decided to have them do the work.
9÷28÷15 — Monday — I called 232‑8243 and asked to schedule the work for Friday. The person I spoke with said she would call me that afternoon or Tuesday morning because she was scheduling in my area for Friday and she would let me know what time my work would be done. I have never heard from anyone at Battle Born Tree Service since that conversation.
10÷2÷15 — Friday — As I thought would happen, nobody showed up. Needless to say, I’m looking for another tree service — one that will show up on time, or heck, show up at all.

Mike came out and trimmed my trees. I was concerned about the appearance of them and Mike took the time to explain what would be best for the trees and how to trim them so that they would grow even stronger. He has all the right equipment and the right coverage to ensure that the job gets done efficiently and safely. I would definitely recommend him without hesitation. If you go with someone because they are cheaper — make sure they are licensed and have insurance otherwise you may be disappointed. Sunnee S.

In preparation to list my home, I had my trees trimmed by this professional tree service. When I called, Mike was easy to get a hold of, looked at my trees and gave a me a great deal. My home sold within 30 days. Now those trees are growing strong and look so awesome. The apple tree which hardly produced fruit was full this year. He cleaned up every branch and limb and it certainly looked better after he completed the job. I would highly recommend him and if you are not happy with your service he will do his best to make it right.

Timely initial appointment as well as easy to book the appointment for tree clean up and trimming right away;however, it was a high estimate. Initial bid was not itemized. I had to go on an appointment prior to the work being completed, and when I got home, my backyard was COVERED in debris– including tree sized branches. I had to call and ask them to return to perform the clean up that I assumed was included in the initial bid. Although he sent his crew back out, I am not sure we agreed on what his clean up should have entailed. I would make sure to get more than one estimate for services before choosing them right away, and ask that he itemizes the estimate so that you know what you’re paying for.

The guy actually answered his phone. He gave a very reasonable estimate. He showed up when he said he would. He was quick an efficient.
He cleaned up well when he was done.
It was a very good experience and I’d use him again in a heartbeat!
