Peace Of Mind Float Spa

What an awesome experience! I went and did my first float at Peace of Mind and was beyond pleased with the whole experience. The float itself was so peaceful and really put me in an amazing state of mind and body. There’s no other feeling like it. Weightless, sightless, soundless… My brain felt like it had been cleansed. Darin, the owner, was so nice and answered any and all of my questions. The atmosphere was nice and I felt great afterwards. I can’t wait to go back again!

This is a fantastic mind opening and relaxing experience. I was curious about floatation tanks for months before I decided to try it and I thought I would have to drive to California to do it. Luckily Darin and Peace of Mind were one step ahead of me. From the moment I walked in I felt at home. Darin is a genuinely nice guy, is extremely knowledgable, loves his job, and can answer any question you have. I always feel comfortable, which is paramount for floating. It’s an amazing tool for getting rid of all the junk and unnecessary distractions that can build up in your mind. The experience is unlike anything I’ve ever done before.
It was unsettling for me a little bit at first. How often are you by alone? In complete silence? In the dark? Floating on water that is at the same temperature as your skin so you lose sense of where you are or how you are oriented? You are left with nothing but your thoughts and yourself. No distractions.
If at any moment it’s too intense. All you have to do is pop open the door take a couple breaths and get back in.
I am a mechanical engineer and I wish I would have had this during school. About 10 – 20 minutes into the float when my mind quiets down and it becomes a very useful tool for analyzing problems and working through things that are happening in my life. You’re thoughts are so much more potent in the tank. It’s very useful for self reflection or you can always just relax and float through space.
I can’t stop talking about it. It is like a shower for your brain. You get to clear out all the gunk that gets stuck in there on a day to day basis. I do it on a weekly basis and it has consistently gotten more rewarding each time. I would drive 2 hours out of my way and pay more to do this. Luckily I don’t have to. If you are even a little curious. You should try it.

Calming… My friend and I went to this place to experience something I’ve heard about, but never done — floating. We didn’t know what to expect. My friend was nervous (somewhat claustrophobic) but the owner assured her she could keep the lid open if need be. We both enjoyed it. There are 2 tanks one has music and they both have lights on. I turned the light off and felt like I was lighter than a feather. A nice way to meditate and pray. The only downfall was — it was a bit confusing to make appointments as it needed to be done online.
