As good as Texas style BBQ will get in Northern VA! My work colleague suggested we get carry out from Willards. We work in Reston, VA and the drive to Chantilly, VA during peak lunch hours, is rather long, but the ride is well worth it! This BBQ is DABOMB. And yes, the flavors explode in your mouth. I ordered the Texas Style Beef Brisket Sandwich with two sides – Mac N Cheese(apparently you have to call ahead and ask for mac n cheese side dish) and the Potato Salad. They were both perfect. Fresh tasting and nothing missing. The potato salad was fresh and just the right chilled temperature. The mac n cheese was firm and had the right balance of cheese to macaroni. The Brisket— speaks for itself. Moist, juicy, tender and tasty! A definite winner for those discriminating non — BBQ lovers. The sauces are right on time as well. I sampled all three and found the Gold to be the best(I’m not a lover of BBQ sauce, but the Gold really complimented the Brisket well). Hats off and hands down to Willards BBQ for scoring a home run on a down home flavor and quality! Now to convince the manager to have Willards cater for any reason at all. :-) I forgot to mention that I also ordered a slice of Key Lime Pie! The pie is not be undone by the food. The pie was just as tasty and delicious and for VA folks, they sure put the spin on a Florida favorite. Way to go Willards!

The BBQ is quite good. Now, I will say the only things I’ve tried are the tripple play sliders(pulled pork, chicken and burnt ends), mashed potatoes, baked beans, and their sausage. This place is far from me being, that I live in Springfield, VA; however, that has not stopped me from taking that drive twice. The location is okay; however if you are familiar with the Chantilly area then you know there is always traffic on Route 50 and Route 28. The people at the counter aren’t the most courteous and their menu is a little hard to trek through. This place is small and quaint, so you might have to wait for a seat. The tripple play sliders are by far the best creation and deal. I absolutely love them. i drench them in the BBQ sauce concotion that I mix. Mash potatoes are good, Can’t really go wrong with that. Baked beans are a no go for me. I loved sweet baked beans. These are not sweet to my liking. My mom said she can tast the gasoline on the collard greens, lol. I am a huge fan of sausage, no pun intended, but theirs is that great. With that being said, I will be back real soon to get me some more bbq sliders or at least the meat by the pint.
