I don’t know how they even have a half star (hopefully that changes). My friends that came into town found this place & i am BEYOND happy they did! Amazing sandwiches! I follow them on Facebook & Twitter… ugh! Just writing the review makes my mouth water!
A MUST!

Very small shop, excellent selection of cheeses and one sandwich offering. They do a sandwich of the day, today’s sandwich was very good.
No seating, grab and go.

Simply put. This place is awesomeness at it’s highest caliber. The shop is super cool inside. It’s located on Church street just off the beaten path of the high tourist traffic, so getting to G.S.C. makes you feel like your getting out of the city, and into another world. They offer lots of beautiful cheeses, wines and specialty meats. This was also the very first place I’ve ever tried pâté. Kudos to you guys for getting me to try something out of my box. Hint: sign up for their weekly news letter to receive via email as they offer lots of wine tasting and super cool events. Love this place!

Even though I left goat.sheep.cow with nothing, I left wanting to come back.
I am not a connoisseur of anything that goat.sheep.cow serves or sells. I’ve only had it a couple of times, mostly for the cheeses, but I still know zilch about charcuterie and the many options that make it up, but my colleague suggested we try it out because they serve sandwiches (a pre-​made number for the day) for lunch. Alright cool.
I believe you can check out IG and/​or FB to find out the sandwich of the day, but they only make a certain amount for the day and thats it. We get there, and its a little after noon, and they have exactly 1 sandwich left. Since there were 3 of us, only 1 of us got a chance to try it, so if you do want to try to the sandwich of the day, I would suggest getting there around 11ish.
Its a pretty small shop with very little walking/​standing room, and no sitting. We just walked where we could, observed the staff behind the counter preparing a board, and checked out the cheeses and mustard’s. Two of the 4 or so behind the counter smiled, asked if they could help us with anything.
I think the area that this place is in, coupled with the smells, creaky heavy doors, and character that this old part of Charleston offers makes this place appealing to me. When we were there, even though we didnt buy anything, except the one sandwich, they werent standoffish to us. Welcoming smiles and feel free to look around kind of vibe. This made me want to come back. Its easy to go into a place like this feeling like a secondhand because its a specialty shop, but break that barrier and you can learn, indulge and experience lots of new eats! Looking forward to trying it out in the future: although I may have to google how to pronounce some stuff before I get there.

I was really excited to try this and made a point to get there for a sandwich during my trip. I walked in and there were only 3 other people, the two guys working were beyond rude and dismissive to me. I couldn’t believe how uncomfortable it was being in there– if there’s nobody in your establishment, maybe you’re not above my business. I walked right out when I asked a question and was met with a blank stare as if my mere presence was an offense

Pains me to write this because the cheese and bread we got from here was very delicious. However…
We were sent here from the fine people at Normandy Bakery right up the street where we got a loaf of bread. The girl behind the counter suggested we try Goat Sheep Cow to get some cheese to go with it… Sure!
When we told the gentleman helping us that Normandy Bakery sent us he made a snide comment that Goat Sheep Cow makes better bread and we should buy his instead. Ummmmm okay? Where’s the sense of respect that they just sent you business… and you’re on the same street why not have a good community and support each other?
Huge turn off and it made me not want to go there again. Again the cheese was quite delicious and they have all kinds you’d ever want. But I won’t be going back after my initial experience.

Defiantly a place to go into. The staff was all friendly and great at suggesting cheese to try and letting us sample the ones we asked for. They have a great selection but they are pricy.

Great selection of cheese, wine, and local products such as baked goods, honeys and oils. Friendly staff. Warm atmosphere. Great prices. What else do you need? Love it. We will be back.

Very cool place to go. The man who helped us at first was a little stiff, but he soon loosened up and was easier to deal with. We tasted several cheeses, which he helped us do, and enjoyed them all, with a baguette from there and a nice bottle of wine. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful, I look forward to going in again.

I try to stop in here every time I visit Charleston, which is to say I’ve been only about 4 times. Each time has been exceptionally pleasant. The female owner, whose name escapes me, is always friendly and happy to talk to customers. The shop couldn’t be more charming and their selection of cheese, meats and accoutrements couldn’t be better. I can’t say enough good things about this place, I look forward to stopping in again on my next visit to Charleston.

Had a very pleasant experience here with the help of Patty and Trudy (co owners). Patty helped educate us on what cheese we would like. She really knew her cheeses and has a deep passion for it that shows in her customer service. We were suggested one cheese from each box. We got the due latte (soft), big johns Cajun (medium), and the podda (hard). Trudy then helped us pick a wine while Patty continued pairing a meat with the cheeses we chose. Overall a very pleasant experience. Really recommended. They will help you find the perfect cheese, meat, and wine

Somehow, my friends and I thought this was a café. But alas, there is no place to sit and eat.
However, we didn’t let that dampen our spirits… when we stopped in on Thursday, we purchased a fresh baguette, selected a nice bottle of chilled wine, and then worked with a member of the staff to select a few cheeses to make an impromptu picnic.
The woman working with us was very knowledgeable, patient, and seemed unperturbed to have four hungry women asking her for cheese recommendations with little to no indication of what we liked.
We did specify that we only wanted pasturized cheeses, and she made a recommendation from each category of goat, sheep and cow. Her recommendations were spot on. Truly. Each time she recommended one, she gave us a small sample so we could see if we liked it, she explained where it was from and what it tasted like… it was amazing. I wish there was a bar in there so I could have sat and asked her questions and sampled cheese all day. I would have gladly paid to do so.
As it was, we got three phenomenal cheeses, added in some almonds, crackers, mustard, and a chocolate bar, and took our treats down to the water to picnic.
I cannot wait to go back to Charleston to visit this store again. The selection is amazing, and the staff is top notch. Phenomenal.

Goat. Sheep. Cow. is my ONLY destination in Charleston for fancy cheese, for more than a few reasons. Firstly, the staff is fantastic — I’ve gone into the shop knowing I ‘need’ cheese for a homemade cheese plate or pizza (get some Rio Bertolini dough at the Farmer’s Market), and they’ve guided me through a dozen samples until I found the perfect combinations of flavor. Talk about selection: the variety is in the name. All varieties of cheese from all over Europe and beyond.
What’s more, Goat. Sheep. Cow. has some really affordable cheeses, and a lot more than just cheese pack into their tiny Church street shop. Expect a wall of wines (each labeled with its origin and pairing recommendations), along with figs, marcona almonds, imported meats, bread and chocolate — all the makings of an incredible spread!
My recommendations: Honey Bee Goats Milk Gouda, Dubliner Stout Cheddar, Aged Mahon, Manchego, and the Julianna herbed goat cheese.

Absolutely the best cheese selection on the peninsula — I’m delightfully overwhelmed every time I go in there. Luckily the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about cheese! They help me find the current cheese of my dreams anytime I’m in the mood for something new.
One of my favorite things about the place is the owner, Patty. Her passion for what she does radiates from her and it’s inspiring to see someone doing something they truly love… especially when it involves something I love so much too (cheese! cheese! cheese!).
They have a great selection of charcuterie, wine, olives and dried fruits/​nuts to make a heavenly cheese plate. Also awesome — they will make you a cheese plate for one or one hundred. I’ve stopped in before to pick up a lil’ sumpin sumpin to bring my sweetie as a workday surprise and they happily hook up small quantities.
The only thing I wish was different was the price… I can’t ever afford the cheese I really want and I always end up spending more than I meant to when I walked in. Luckily Trader Joe’s has a few of the same cheeses at a more affordable price if I’m willing to drive over the bridge. (Hint to the cheese lovers: Trader Joe’s carries burrata!!!)
goat.sheep.cow is hands down one of my favorite spots in Charleston, I feel lucky we have it in town.

This shop is the crème de la crème. I just moved away from Charleston and can honestly say that what I miss most is goat.sheep.cow. Every time that I stepped through the door it felt like home… if my home were filled with fantastic cheeses, meats, and wine. I rarely shopped there with a goal in mind, rather I asked the attentive, knowledgeable and attractive staff for their current recommendations. I tried to purchase different cheeses and meats each visit and it’s hard to pick a favorite because they are all so good. Most cheeses are European in style, so if you are looking for smoke, peppers, bacon, or dill in your cheese, there is a Bi-​Lo right up Meeting Street.
If you have no idea what you’re in the market for, you can tell the staff what flavor profiles you enjoy and they will recommend cheeses and meats which you are sure to enjoy. There are many options as to how you can buy your cheeses. Sometimes I would go in and buy several pieces and go home and make my own cheese plate. If I felt lazy, I could go in and tell them a price point and they would make a custom cheese plate for me which could be served on my own platter or they’ll even lend you one!
They have a gorgeous, well maintained, and intimate courtyard out back where they will often sample their wine on the weekends. It’s a great way to taste before you buy.
They bring in fresh baked breads every morning from the Park Circle jewel, EVO. While theses baguettes are chewy, crusty, and delicious on their own, they would be naked without a smear of crack cheese (ask for it by name).
The prices are incredibly reasonable and you can buy meats and cheeses in any quantity you’d like as opposed to their big box Mount Pleasant competition, where is it $ 15 wedge or nothing.
If you are interested in high end cheeses, meats, and hard to find boutique wines in a friendly, unpretentious environment, you need to visit goat.sheep.cow.

Cozy, elegant, and delicious with helpful staff. We got the sandwich of the day and it far exceeded our expectations with a vibrant combination of fresh flavors. Excellent.

One of the best hidden gems in Charleston. We love their fantastic sandwiches, cheese, wine and charcuterie selection, everything. We sen cancelled our valentines day reservation this year and ordered a cheese and charcuterie board (and bottle of wine) from GSC instead. Outrageously good. Love the parisian vibe and cute little interior. Way to go to the owners– this place is really wonderful.

We needed some food for our daily wine and cheese plates that we like to enjoy while vacationing on Folly Beach for the holidays.
I popped in on a Friday evening, was recommended a nice selection of cheeses, which I complimented with my favorite meats (coppa and sopresata), a baguette, and some honey. Short of having some apples and pears in the store, this would have been a one-​stop shop. We will be back.

Charleston’s best kept secret. Huge case of cheeses, nice selection of meats, mustards, jams, accoutrements for an impromptu picnic. Popped in to finally check it out today — pleasantly surprised by knowledgeable and helpful staff with no pressure at all. One of the best customer service experiences I’ve had since moving here in November! Kudos to goat.sheep.cow!
P. s. get the Kunik cheese and a pack of membrillo, the speck was excellent, the sopressata was delicious, goat Gouda was a great rec — we loved it all!

Stopped in yesterday after a few meetings which was my first time in. Contrary to the what the website says, they have already brought in a wide selection of wine. An entire wall full. The two women who run the place were insanely helpful and very informative. I was unsure what to get as my charcuterie experiences have usually been presented on a tray instead of picking and choosing on my own. They suggested I sample a couple meats which I wasn’t turning down. Then we did the same with a couple cheeses to pair with it. The only thing I was sure of was that I was grabbing one of the fresh baguettes to go with my purchase. I decided on Ossau Iraty Cheese, Salame Toscano Picante, and of course, a crunchy Evo Bakery baguette.
I broke into it for lunch today and it was absolutely amazing. I wanted to eat it for dinner last night but I had other plans… patience grasshopper. I can’t wait to finish it off tomorrow. Maybe lunch could be breakfast?
