History

Established in 2011.

Letter from Founder:

I started Boston Dog Company after my dog Teddy was severely attacked and injured after attending dog daycare suffering over $ 35,000 in medical bills. Soon, I realized that most dog daycares are more focused on making money and less on providing a safe environment for dogs. I decided it was time to create a dog care facility that improved on every aspect of dog daycare: from the facility to a comprehensive initial evaluation to hiring expertly-​trained staff.

At Boston Dog Company, our core mission is to provide a safe and dog-​centered environment for all the dogs in our care. We have went to great lengths to ensure the dogs in our daycare are in safe and fun-​filled environment. It starts with our rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process. We only accept social dogs. In fact, we only accept 5−10% of applicants on average. This means 90 to 95 out of every 100 dogs are automatically declined for acceptance into our dog daycare program.

I have been a life-​long dog lover and spent several years volunteering at my local shelter in my teens. In terms of profession my background is in software development and owning and operating several education companies.

It was not part of my «life-​plan» to open a pet care facility. After my dog Teddy was severely injured after a near fatal attack at a pet resort in Boston, Massachusetts I knew something had to change, His near fatal attack was the catalyst for the idea of a dog daycare that only accepted the most social dogs. It was the catalyst for a dog daycare that cared more for the dogs in their care instead of on their bottom line. Boston Dog Company is not your average dog daycare, it is the idea that dogs should be loved like family and should be safe at all times, it is environment where it is fully transparent which is why our walls are made of glass.
