Glow Hair Salon

Was excited for my haircut until the stylist started sharing way too much personal info. She spent the next hour bashing her owner by telling me how lazy and uninvolved with the company she is. She slipped in their that the owner was a new mom but that shouldn’t be the stylists problem. Yadayadayada. Way too much complaining. The place was pretty but my stylist was no good. Skip the redhead if you go.

Nice little shop, had my hair cut by Jennifer, she does really good work for either men or women.

Had my haircut by Jen as a walk-​in. I’m new to the area and found this salon through Unilocal.She was very friendly and definitely took her time with my hair. I have hair up to my butt and I asked for v with layers and side sweep bangs. She did an amazing job and I feel so relieve now having less hair. The service was astounding. The location was not far from my home and the place itself is very nice and pink. The products they use smell amazing especially that Moroccan oil cream that she put in my hair. Would definitely recommend!

Highly disappointed in my hair. $ 200 and my color did not even last one week. Loved it when it was first done. Now it looks terrible. I had a friend come with me while I was getting my hair done get a hair cut. She was not even happy. Matter of fact she had to go somewhere else to get her her corrected.

Had my hair cut here today by Brittany and she did an amazing job. She took her time and was very thorough and made sure that I loved it before I left her chair! I will definitely be a regular here from now on.

I just moved to the area I’m extremely nervous whenever I go to a new hair dresser and Brittany was wonderful!!! She kept me at ease and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it & it looks great! I will definitely be back!

I have challenging hair. Very thick, very dark. I’ve always wanted ombré (with lighter brown at the ends) but I’ve never had the courage. I’ve seen some weird ombres around and with as much hair as I have, I was picturing disaster.
But Kristen started off my appointment saying she has lots of clients with thick hair like me, and she loves doing ombres. Yay! Nerves were somewhat relieved. I showed her a picture and she immediately understood what I wanted. She asked if I wear my hair straight or curly, and I told her I did both. So she made it so that it’d be ombré when curly, and a nice peek-​a-​boo when straight, to avoid the dreaded line across the hair.
After almost 5 hours in the salon (I said I had thick hair!) I was done and looking great. During that time, she gave me some great tips for styling it at home. She also gave me a great haircut, and the salon gives free bang trims, so upkeep is a breeze. The color/​cut/​style ended up being a VERY reasonable price, especially for the amount of time it took.
Definitely recommend Glow and Kristen!

I have had the worst luck finding a hair salon since I moved to the area. Started off with a woman who did everything from her home. She moved a few months later. Then the next hair stylist I found also moved. The next one quit. Finally two and a half years later I started seeing Brittany at Glow. She is fantastic! Really friendly for starters. She really listens to what I want in my cut and color. She also gives great input when asked. Every time I go in there I come out looking and feeling fantastic. She doesn’t fry my blonde hair. I was even comfortable enough to try a pixie cut for the first time! I also love that they don’t try to force products on you.

The girls in GLOW are super nice although its more of a trendy punk rocker feel. A bit pricey for color that lasted about 2 weeks. I bought the shampoo and conditioner the stylist recommended and my hair felt like straw after a few washings and the color was stripped out by the shampoo. I switched back to my old shampoo and didnt see the color fade as much but again, color only lasted 2 weeks which was a HUGE disappointment.

If you have very thin, very straight (read: Asian or Caucasian) hair, then I am sure you will have a wonderful experience… otherwise, beware: they have no clue how to do hair with any coarseness WHATSOEVER. The stylists left me looking like Fredrick Douglass on my sister’s wedding day– and I came in for a blowout! She was clearly terrified to go to the root, which means she shouldn’t have been doing black hair in the first place, and should have warned me. I wouldn’t have been offended; I’d have thanked her, and saved myself the $ 70 it cost to look like a hot mess!
To make matters worse, after articulating these concerns, they offered me a full refund– then SWORE that they did no such thing when the offer was up for redemption. Horrific and snooty customer service, and I certainly have no intentions of returning.

My girlfriend and I were in virginia beach on vacation and we ended up finding this salon. They did an amazing job on both of our hair. We are both blonde and very picky and they did absolutely amazing! Kristen, Brittany and shay are Def great and really know what they are doing with color. And the salon also uses great products. Great salon and great people.

I happen to start going here when another hair salon I went to was unable to get me as a walk-​in from being short staffed. Down the street I went to try this place out. I was so happy I did. I felt like I got the full salon experience and did not feel judged by what I do/​do not do with my hair. I’ve been in about 4 times now and Tim is now my absolute favorite! He really does what is practical for me in how I can manage my hair. I also love how meticulous he is about styling my hair. I have thick wavy hair that has a mind of its own and he gets it looking so good. I recently got highlights and this was the first time I have ever gotten my hair professionally colored. He really took what I wanted and delivered! Plus, he did it at such a great price. This is my go-​to hair salon and there are even referral rewards! I recently got my mom hooked!

I am typically a planner. I plan and organize and know what is supposed to happen when. Except when it comes to my hair. I am an instant-​gratification kind of person when it comes to that. I have the urge to get a cut or color, and I have to have it done that day. Not tomorrow or next week… TODAY. I am currently on a business trip and had a little spare time and per diem, so I did a Google search and found Glow. I called and prefaced my request for an appointment with «I know it’s short notice, but…» I was asked how soon I could be there, and made an appointment right away! I was excited!
I walked in and was greeted, and was promptly introduced to Tim, my stylist. We sat down and talked about what I wanted, he gave me suggestions, and we came up with a game plan. My hair is very thin and fine, and it needs a miracle-​worker to breathe life into it. Tim was just what my hair needed. He selected a shade of color that looked natural on me, but it was infinitely better than my natural color. The way he cut and textured my hair gave it life and bounce. I am super happy with the results and am quite sad that he isn’t closer to home. If I’m ever in the area for work again, you bet I’ll be back.

I purchased a voucher from one of the coupon sites to GLOW and was excited to visit this new salon close to my house. I was SO glad I did! First, the owner Kristen has been there all three times I have visited and is very concerned about customer service/​satisfaction. I was worried about going to a new salon because I have thick naturally curly hair that can be intimidating so some of the stylists I have used in the past. Most often at other shops, I have come out with a cut that is too short or too bulky for my face. Kristen did an excellent job of listening to exactly what I wanted and what I did not want. The cut was perfect and I got TONS of compliments from friends and family. I went back a few weeks later and Kristen did my color. Again, everything was exactly as I wanted. She made excellent recommendations on hair products but was not over pushy about selling me everything in the store (unlike some other salons/​spas I have visited). Last month, I had Brittney cut my daughters hair. The shop did a great job making her feel like a «grown up» even though she is five. She loved it! The décor is beautiful, modern, and clean. The staff offers beverages when you walk in. I think I’ve found my new go-​to salon.
