I have had such an amazing experience with Avieve Salon. The atmosphere is so wonderful and everyone working there is so nice! I get my hair done with Pamela and she is incredible! I came in yesterday looking for something completely wild (dark hair that fades into purple and an asymmetrical bob) and she blew it out of the park! I feel confident and sexy! Bobbi is a curly-haired girls answer to how to get a great cut, every time. Her coloring skills are what first drew me in and I know I’ll never go to anyone else. She took my frizzy and heavy hair and managed to liven it up without taking away much length. She is amazing!

This review is for spray tan only. The staff was very nice and the girl who sprayed me was also nice. Cute salon. But my spray tan, was really bad. I have received many spray tans and this one was the worst. The room they sprayed me in was fine enough and the technician was totally professional but the results were horrible. About 5 hours later the bottom of my feet were dark brown, about 10 shades darker than my skin. This is b. c the towel they kept in the shower, which I stood on, had been the same towel that other clients must have used and the tanning solution just sat on the mat, hence my dark feet. They need to use new towels to stand on for every client. And the bottom half of my body was not tan at all. The top half was tanner but uneven. My hands had lines, especially my knuckles. I called them the next day to tell them about the uneven tan and they were cordial and said I could come in to be sprayed again but I didn’t have time. I would have preferred a refund since it wasn’t cheap. And to spray on top of spray is usually not a good idea. Again everyone was perfectly nice but my spray tan was not good.

I asked the woman who was doing my brows if she could add a little more arch, she responded if I wanted to look like a tranny I would have to take my business somewhere else. I have never been spoken to like that by someone providing me with a service in my entire life. My eyebrows didn’t even look good afterwards and I was disgusted by the way the woman spoke to me. I will not be going back here.

I’m absolutely torn about this place… While I did walk away happy with my hair color and cut, this salon gave me mixed feelings… Customer service seemed great at first when the receptionist was able to squeeze me in for the Saturday morning appointment when I called on that Thursday the same week. I was excited for my appointment considering how she really gave me great service on the phone, and how I’ve always wanted to try Bumble & Bumble products. But when I walked-in, I was underwhelmed by the customer service I received. It felt like everybody working was more into their co-workers than their clients. I was new to the salon, but nobody made me exactly feel like I was welcome as a new client. I watched other clients walk-in and people make them feel welcomed, but I never once received that feeling.
I was happy the my stylist was able to still give me a good service, minus the fact that I left with color on my clothes (which they had said would come out in the laundry but actually didn’t). I just felt like my service didn’t matter to anyone in the salon other than my stylist. It just made me disappointed. Not to mention, I was even more sad to get home to find my «goodie bag» of samples I was told I would get, only had one sample packet of shampoo and conditioner. Not that this is a big deal or anything, but don’t tell me I’m going home with all these goodies when I actually really didn’t get any goodies at all.
However, I was happy with my hair and the price was good. I’m still contemplating if the price is worth feeling like I, as a client, don’t really matter to the salon.

I have been going to Avieve for several years now and I LOOOOOVE Andreana. I have dark brown hair but I prefer to be a total blondie and she does the best blonde!!!
I get my roots bleached every 4 weeks and she has been able to keep my hair super healthy. I was in a wedding a few months ago and asked her to put in extensions. She uses the Klix brand and they turned out great! They are reasonably priced and nobody can tell that its not my natural hair. I would highly recommend Andreana and the girls at Avieve Salon!

I absolutely adore this salon! The entire experience is fabulous. You walk in and immediately feel as though you are in the comfort of your best friend’s home. The girls who work the front desk are super friendly and ready to get you a coffee, water or wine.
Andreana is my stylist and she is simply fantastic. I trust her implicitly to make my hair look amazing and she never lets me down. I have been going to her for a few years now and have never had more compliments about my hair. Sadly, I am relocating out of Chicago shortly but think she is worth the plane ride back to make sure my locks stay luscious!
Genevieve is the owner and does waxing and all things related to skin. She is fantastic. She approaches skin in a holistic way and always has great natural advice on how to manage any issues. For example, I have a tendency to have more redness in my skin and she suggested that I eat more tomatoes because of an enzyme that reduces redness. She is super knowledgeable and a doll to work with.
This salon is a great place to go to feel pampered and loved. They treat like you family.

I see Sarah for my color and cut and she always does a wonderful job. I have thick curly hair and she gives me a good cut that works. As a side note, but important to me, is how good her blowouts are. I have gone in just for a blowout and honestly, i dont need to wash my hair for close to a week. I see Jana for Keratin treatments, and she is very quick. Both women are enjoyable to work with, and I continue to receive top notch services. Booking appointments are make easy with their online system, and I can usually get in within a week of wanting an appointment. All staff are very friendly and professional, and make certain that customers are taken care of throughout their service.

Love this place! Jana has given me the best hair color I’ve ever had — and I’ve ha A LOT of colorists. Every time I have brought a picture in to have her match it, she gets it right on. Also, people always think I am a natural red head — I think that’s a pretty good sign.
Also, the rest of the staff is very friendly, warm, and accommodating.

As a guy, I am very reluctant to go to a spa to get my hair cut. However, since going to Avieve, I have abandoned that thought process. I get the best hair cuts I have ever had there. Madison does an amazing job and i could not rave about her enough. It is also a great atmospere.

After searching for months for a place that is up to date on the latest hair trends (the girls here get regular training), affordable, close to home and has a stylist who actually listens, I’m so excited to have found Avieve. While I have a salon for coloring, it’s difficult to find a great stylist who isn’t pushing products in your face or talking you out of the style you want.
I did a little research and decided on Laura (a fab junior stylist) for my first visit. I booked an appointment for late in the day on a weekday and was running a few minutes late after a terrible workday. The girl at the front desk immediately greeted me with a smile and offered me a drink (water, wine, etc.). Then I met Laura who was friendly, listened to me blab about my awful work day and massaged my scalp which put me at ease. When it came time to discuss what I wanted to do with my hair, she listened and made suggestions. When I asked her about purchasing a product to protect my hair from heat styling she talked me through what might work best without pushing the purchase.
Overall, I’m very happy I tried Avieve, and was excited to go home with some sample goodies as well. Will definitely be coming back for another cut.

I had a great experience at Avieve over the past weekend. I booked an appointment to take advantage of their Style Series, which is held on alternate Sundays: for $ 15, a stylist spends 15 minutes with you and teaches you how to style your hair in the manner of your choice. For me, the obvious choice was to learn how to straighten my bangs — I have curly hair *and* a cowlick. My friend, who booked the appointment just before mine, wanted to the opposite: to learn how to put a lasting wave in her straight hair.
Laura spent way more than 15 minutes on each of us: I’d say it was more like 45 min total, and she showed us our chosen styles so that we each learned our pick *and* was able to learn from the other’s style choice. Plus? We were offered tea, coffee, water and wine.
Overall, my experience here far exceeded my expectations. Laura is great at explaining what you want to know, explaining differences between salon-grade blowdryers/curlers and those available to regular consumers and making us feel better about our usual dumb techniques for fixing our hair. Dumb no more, though! Thanks, Laura!

Yea!!! I found a great salon! With so many in the city, one would think it would be easy, but it’s not.
Why it’s great:
— The staff is very nice and accommodating. I forgot the name of the woman at the front desk but she is as sweet as can be.
— They greet you right away, take your coat and offer you coffee, tea, water or wine. Wine? Score!
— The shampoo experience was relaxing. Ahhhh… massage my scalp more please.

Now let’s talk about the real reason I’m giving 5 stars — JANA!
I was actually referred to another stylist here but decided to go with Jana after reading her bio. She’s cool, easy to talk to and listens to what you want. She gave me a great cut and she knows how to blow dry curly hair. Yes!
Mind you, I am writing this one day post hair cut. Typically with cuts, I think it takes a week or two before you can tell if you like it. This one I love already!
Also, she gave me a lil tutorial on curling my hair after I blow it out and offered to have me come in and she can watch me do it and then give me pointers. Very nice.
And she told me if I didn’t like the way the cut looked after trying to curl it to come back in and she will make adjustments.
This salon is about service and making the client happy. This might sound lame, but I had a good time just being here and hanging out even while waiting for my appt sipping on wine and reading a magazine.

Love, Love LOVE!!! I have been going to Avieve for about a year now after my old salon though great was nearly impossible to get an appointment & I was having an impossible time finding a good place to get waxed! Let’s face it ladies a good wax is important to women as a pair of stilettos!
Ok hair: I see Adrianna and she is wonderful! She is patient, creative, easy going, flexible & very nice! I am the kind of person who has a vague idea of what I want when it comes to my hair cut and color then I like to give the stylist the ability to run with their ideas and skill. After all she is the professional why not give her creative control! I have never left disappointed or wanted her to «fix» my cut. I am not a natural blonde and she has made my faux blonde look natural & perfect for my tone. Not kidding best cut/color I’ve had in the city!
The Wax: Genevieve is seriously a waxing ninja! She is laid back, sensitive to your needs, warp speed fast & never messes up! Let me tell you I have been waxing my face since I was 12 so I know a good wax when I see one! Well now that I made myself sound like the missing link on to the rest of my review. My brows have never looked better & the speed she waxes is AMAZING! I have recently started getting the Brazilian wax & as hard as it is to believe she has a great technique to minimize the pain. The girl should just paint her door red and call herself Elizabeth Arden!
Service: All the gals in the salon are super sweet and attentive! One of my all time favorites is that they are beyond accommodating in fitting you in! Every time I call they are able to fit me in & are flexible to reschedule too. To me that makes the experience even better that no matter the day or time they get you in! This place is great!

I followed Sarah Beck from Salon Blue to Avieve way back in the day. She’s efficient, fun to visit, and worth every cent. Like Katy O. said, the online system is fantastic and easy. Love, love that I can make my appointments without picking up the phone. (Not that the receptionists aren’t love to talk to.)
I’ve now moved to Iowa City, IA with my fiancé and I still see Sarah every time I’m in Chicago. I’m still trying to find a stylist in Iowa City but no one can seem to figure out how to cut my hair. Even living out of state, I’m still faithful to Sarah and her talent!

I wanted to get some spa services done before my wedding and ended up at Avieve after reading positive reviews on Unilocal.
First of all, I LOVE the online reservation system. For some reason it just feels more efficient than making a phone call.
Secondly, all three spa services were wonderful. Genevieve is so great, I will definitely be back. I did the ear candling, as I read that it would help with balance– something I definitely have issues with. I felt a little lighter and more balance for a couple of days afterwards. It was crazy how much wax came out of my ears! Gross– but satisfying to know that it came out…
I also had a facial– the first I’ve ever had. I can’t compare at it was my first time, but it was a wonderful experience. Genevieve had some great tips for how to better maintain my skin. I will be back for another facial in the near future. It is so relaxing and your skin really does glow afterwards.
The bikini wax was great– no bumps or irritation afterwards and it lasted forever. Overall, two thumbs up!
