This place is great! From both Ricky to the mechanics! They explain everything clearly and their prices are reasonable. Every time I need an oil change or something is wrong with my motor I do not look anywhere else but Logan square auto repair. I do not know much about cars, and Ricky does a great job in explaining to me what the car needs and what will be done to it. I definitely recommend this place!

I’ve lived down the block from LSAR for the past 8 years and even though I get my car washed next door, I never thought to bring my car in to them for service until yesterday. I’ve been using a great mechanic for the past few years, but he doesn’t have great diagnostic equipment that sometimes is necessary to work on later model cars. My regular mechanic tried for a couple of hours to re-​set a flashing light on my instrument cluster, and couldn’t figure it out — he advised me to call a Nissan dealer and maybe they could figure it out. The Nissan dealer was booked solid for 3 weeks, and told me it would cost me $ 98 dollars just to look at the problem and I was looking at close to $ 200 to $ 300 to fix it. Just by chance I drove my car over to LSAR — Ricky told me that it probably was just a re-​set problem — he plugged his scanner in, hit a couple of buttons and the problem was solved. When I asked him how much I owed him, he said he wouldn’t charge me for such a small problem. Wow — did that
make my day! What a gem to have in the neighborhood!

Expensive and not very quick… Went here for an oil change– its more expensive than my usual place ($ 79 vs 55) and it took over an hour even though i had an appointment. Also my drivers side mat was left muddy — they didn’t cover it with a paper like most places do. I also received a laundry list of things they thought i should repair almost 2k worth– i have never had any issues– my car is inly a few years old and my other shop never mentioned any problems, so I don’t know what to think about that. I wish they had showed me the issues in person when I was there. I went here because it was convenient but probably will go to my old spot next time.

I have been here a handful of times. They are always very professional and honest. In this city, honest mechanics are far and few between. They are also very fair on their prices. They also have a parking lot which makes it very convenient to drop and pick your car up if you work long hours. A+.

Logan Square Auto is great. They’re honest and priced well. They’ve never tried to do a bunch of unnecessary stuff on my car either. Plus Ricky– the gentleman running the shop rules. If there’s an issue with my car he takes the time to explain it in detail, but doesn’t make me feel like a dumbass for not knowing car stuff. He threw in some really good new windshield wipers before I drove solo to Florida because he thought my old ones were toast – and it totally saved my ass driving through some gnarly storms. Definitely recommend them!

I’ve been taking my car to Ricky and Logan Square Auto for years! They have great service. I never feel like I’m being ripped off.
They usually do a total assessment of your car and tell you everything that is wrong. What I like though, is that they will say, look, you need to fix this now, but these other things can wait a while! I like that they tell me my options.
I have an older BMW that needs a little «extra care». They have always been straight forward and trustworthy. Highly Recommended!

Not only have I worked here before but have continued to be a customer before and afterwards. The techs are great and can always provide an appropriate diagnostic with a good price. Ricky the manager always works with you in terms of what to repair first. I’ve had my old cars and my new ones serviced here and they never failed to satisfy. I send my employees, friends and business referrals to this growing and well put together shop.

I remember a few years ago being nervous going from a family friend mechanic to trying to find an auto shop closer to my home that I could have the same trust in as my family. I could not be happier that I found it in the first shop I visited, LSAR.
Everyone here is courteous and helpful. The manager Rick is one of the best customer service reps I’ve experienced in auto shops. Their quotes are accurate to the penny, honest, and no pressure.
You can make an appointment for multiple or more lengthy services, or just drive up, honk, and drop off. I can’t recall them ever having my vehicle longer than a day or any repair or service.
If/​when I move out of the neighborhood I’ll still be coming here for years. It’s fairly faith restoring to find a business that realizes the benefits to honest, caring work and the loyalty it brings.

I had a front fender repaired and painted and also some minor work on other areas. The paint job came out great! It matched the rest of the car perfectly, no sight of waving when you look down the side of the car and was done a day ahead of schedule. I’ve been going to see Rick and his crew for a few years now, but this seals the deal. They are my only repair shop I go to.

This is by far the best mechanic I have ever been to! I was very skeptical of mechanics in general since I really know nothing about cars, but Rick totally changed all that! Four and a half years later and I still love this place! Ricky is awesome, the staff at the desk is always helpful and friendly, and the prices are still incredibly reasonable (hint: if you have a AAA card, ask for the discount!). I drive an old busted car that always needs more work than I can put into it, and Ricky is always happy to talk to me about what the issues are, what needs attention, and what I should keep an eye on. The final price is never more than the estimate given, and usually the turnaround is quite quick, meaning I can get my car back sooner rather than later :)
This is a top notch neighborhood mechanic, and as long as I have a car in the city, they will be my go-​to garage. Thank you LSAR!!!

I always come here for oil changes because it’s so convenient.
I noticed my car shaking at high speeds recently I brought it here to be checked out. I thought their estimate was way high (over $ 2,000!) to do the repairs so I got a second opinion at another place with 5 star reviews. The second opinion was almost identical to logan sq auto. I felt guilty for not trusting them in the first place.
Moral of the story: this place is trustworthy

I was a loyal customer for several years though their prices are exceedingly high. I thought they were trust-​worthy, even though every repair came in over a thousand dollars. The final estimate, i took to three other shops. Not only was their cost twice as high, but it turns out the part in question was not even damaged!
I would not recommend such dishonesty to anyone. On top of everything my car was always returned in a filthy state with the interior smudged with grease. And When I called for a tow they left me on the side of the highway for 3 hours mid winter and were a no-​show. Need I say more?!
