My dogs and me love this store and have been shopping here since it opened. The selection of foods is terrific and the team here is great. They always remember my name and I appreciate how they offer assistance but don’t hover and are not pushy. The store offers fair pricing and has a rewards program. By the way, Kaile is exceptional. She is extremely knowledgeable and shows kindness and compassion each time I see her. She keeps tabs on my pups and my family and has provided excellent recommendations time and time again. I can’t speak highly enough of Paw Naturals.
My pup had been on a prescription dog food for 6 – 7 years due to food allergies. We’ve tried many non-​prescription dog foods that were hypo-​allergenic or grain free or some weird protein like Kangaroo; he had allergies to every prepared food and homemade food we tried. We’ve been to many vets, specialists, etc without success.
One day, shortly after moving to Chicago, we stumbled upon this amazing place! Forgive me as I forgot her name, but the woman working that day suggested Zignature dog food. As you can imagine, I was skeptical (to the degree where I was hesitant on trying it).
Her advice changed everything for my dog (and for me too!). My pup has been on this food for the last ~8 months and is healthier than ever and has absolutely no issues.

The staff here is great! They are very well informed and provide excellent advice about pet nutrition. After spending thousands of dollars and endless visits on what the vet first diagnosed as food allergies, next IBS and then prescribing awful royal canine, I came here. The staff worked with to provide healthy supplements and even wrote down a homemade natural good recipe. My dog and I thank you!

Great place! From healthy food and treats to toys, to grooming supplies, they really have it all. They have a variety of options which is great. The girl up front is also very helpful and super nice.

Feel bad that I waited this long to switch my pups to better quality food. I used to be a Petco/​Petsmart shopper, till I moved into the area and walked into this place. I was able to find the perfect food/​snacks for my little dogs and I know exactly what they are eating.
The shop offers doggie training classes as well. I signed up my girls and i learned a thing or 2 from the instructor. The staff is very helpful and nice. Overall is a cute pet store.

This is an independently owned store that carries quality, healthful food, litter, bones, snacks, etc. at affordable prices. Staff is familiar with their stock and I take their recommendations, knowing my pets will thank me. I get discounts after purchasing a certain amount, they give free treats to dogs, and free samples to anyone who purchases there, for cats and dogs alike, and it’s just a great place to shop. I highly recommend this store.

This a great neighborhood spot for your pooch. Paw Naturals has an awesome selection of treats, toys and accessories that you’ll have a tough time finding in other pet shops. They carry a huge selection of healthy pet food… they even have a cooler with home made and raw dog food. Check em out, it’s pet friendly so bring Fido.

This is a great little neighborhood dog shop. They have tons of great food, treats, and toys for pups. They also have samples out and in the summer they prop the door open with fresh water for Fido and host Yappy Hours on Wednesdays. They stock tons of birthday treats, small treat sizes, and bully sticks/​chews galore. It’s also a great place to stop if you’re in the market for a new kibble as they have manufacturer samples for free.
Thy have the best location too! Kitty Corner from the West Loop Dog Park, which is one of my pup’s favorites places.

The people here are SO helpful and the treats amazing (according to the receiving animals, fyi… I do not sample them)! I come here every year to get treats for some of my favorite dogs and cats around the holidays. I can’t stress enough how buying local makes a difference because the service is spot-​on! Plus, they have two adorable mascots. One is more of a «security» pup and the other a «greeter». Come on in to meet them and buy great products while you’re at it :)

I am not going to be going back, I am sad to say it. I am a charge account holder, have been going for years… Its on the park, its right where I live, its perfect, but not. The often times overly premium prices frustrate me, but proximity is king. When you need something for the pup last thing, or at the park, this place has location-​gold. But, if you go a few blocks away and get the SAME EXACT brand for bags, treats, and food, you can pay less.
But really, I just had a terrible experience with one of the girls who works there. I found her behavior and commentary about clientele offensive. I purchased goods, walked out frustrated. Based on principle, I went back and returned my beef-​bone 2-​pack and went to Wiggleyville. Where the price was better, and the staff was incredibly helpful and kind to all of the west loop-​ers in there. I need to pick up pictures of my dogs from the most recently holiday, and likely that will be my final return trip. Annoyed.

I love this place!
Since moving to the city, this has been mine (and my pups) favorite store for his food and treats! I am very picky with what I feed my dog, and they have been excellent! They are so friendly and have so much product knowledge!
They also have deer antlers, which my dog loves! I got him a huge one for Christmas, and there’s still a bit left (he goes through toys like crazy!).
They are truly a great store and I can be a little harsh with my ratings, but they are incredible. Check them out!

I had the privilege of checking out this local establishment a few days and can’t say enough good things about it. First and foremost, if you don’t support small local businesses, you’re down right silly. There are still a bunch of ‘gems’ left in this city, such as this one. This West Loop boutique is the perfect mold of how a business should be run. Kind, friendly, attentive, resourceful and accommodating. The prices are pretty competitive to the some of the bigger box stores, which makes shopping here even more of a no-​brainer.
I was having issues with the previous litter I was keeping in my cat’s litter box. It was extremely dusty, and coated the room with dust residue on almost a daily basis. Super annoying to say the least. I found Paw Naturals on Facebook through a friend, and called to see if someone could help with my issue. I spoke with the owner, and she was super helpful. She even gave unbiased recommendations over the phone. I was so impressed by that, that I came in the same day to purchase a new bag of the litter that she recommended. Let’s just say I’m glad I took the time to find out about this place. There were a ton of natural and organic options for me to choose from. Which gives me piece of mind, especially when it comes to my pet.
The shop was super clean, smelled really good, and the customer service was exceptional. Take your dog or cat in should you find yourself in the neighborhood. I think you’ll be thanking me later… Enjoy!

Let me start by saying that when it comes to pet needs, I would much rather support local small businesses than the big box stores. In general they’re a bit more expensive, but they’re usually a heck of a lot more knowledgeable about the products that they carry. Unfortunately, I didn’t find this to be the case at Paw Naturals.
The first time I came here was about 3 months ago. I own my own pet sitting company, and was having a really hard time with a new cat. My client just moved here from New York and never really needed a cat sitter before. A new environment and all new experiences being thrown at this cat all at once. She was having a difficult time adjusting and trusting me. I asked the clerk (I believe she was the owner too) if she knew of any toys that work best for shy cats. I told her that I needed something that would make this cat love me! To my surprise, she looked straight at me and said, «why would you want a cat to like you?» Needless to say, I was very put off! I chalked it up as possibly a joke and figured that was just her personality, so I continued to shop and figure it out for myself.
This morning I had a visit with the same cat — who now LOVES me! But today we had another problem-​static! She was so staticky that she was legitimately scared of me because every time I touched her I shocked her. Since I was in the area for something else, I decided to give Paw Naturals another shot. The clerk asked me if I needed anything so I told him my problem. I understand that a staticky cat is not an everyday issue, but I also know that I am not the only one with that problem. I found a conditioning spray and asked if he thought it would do the trick. He wasn’t sure so he went and asked the woman who I had talked to 3 months prior. She didn’t seem to think it would help, but certainly didn’t point me in another direction. She proceeded to tell me to rub a dryer sheet on the cat, as that’s what she does with her dog.
I wouldn’t even rub a dryer sheet on MY OWN skin, let alone a pet! Cats lick themselves clean, and would be ingesting all of those chemicals. One allergic reaction, accidental ingestion, bout of kidney failure or any other number of possibilities, and I can see the vet bills and the lawsuit now!
I know in my heart that this woman didn’t mean harm by her suggestion but as a pet store owner that supposedly carries natural, pet-​safe products, I feel like she should absolutely know better!

Great selection of organic and healthy food for dogs and cats. Love the location right in my neighborhood. The owner is super nice, and they have a rewards program. Prices are pretty high here, but understand the quality of products is higher than at a Petco or Petsmart. The staff is knowledgeable and they have free samples of food if you would like to try before you buy. My dog loves to try their free dog treat samples at the front counter too.
Tip: Thursday nights they have Yappy Hour — basically dogs/​owners get to mingle with other dogs and their owners. They provide refreshments too. Great time to meet Paw Naturals regulars and make friends in the neighborhood.

Really liked this place, there was a much larger dog selection than cat but that’s how most places are. The cat stuff they did have was a pretty decent selection. Prices were higher than your big chain store, but again that’s typical. The woman working was incredibly nice and informative, she gave me some free samples to try out for my cats. Glad this place isn’t too far away, will be sure to come back again!

Still settling into the Chicago area, we need a new place that carries our doggie’s allergy-​sensitive food: California Naturals. Agway on the East Coast is a bulk food carrier, so apparently their prices are automatically lower. When we walked into Paw Naturals, the cost for a 15lb bag matched what we were paying for the 30lb in CT. We were honest with the staff member, who turned out to be the store manager, and she explained current pricing thresholds of California Naturals, their pricing system, and ways for us to save. We chatted for a while about dog allergies, available options, and the store itself. The store is incredibly clean and organized, with many unique options, including baked doggie goods and Cubs accessories, and frozen fresh meat dog food.
It’s all in the details:
— Frequent buyer program (for a small store this is pretty sweet).
— They were out of our 30lb bag: we pre-​ordered it for pick-​up within the week
— We were given lots of doggie treat samples, to see what our pup would go for.
— We received a discount on our first order and another discount coupon for our next order.
— Word on the street is, there are many sales on our food and other foods. Will keep a look out!

This place rocks! I typically stop in with my Frenchie on our way to the dog park. The staff is super friendly & helpful. Amanda did a great job explaining the various types of foods & made great recommendations on all natural dog treats which my dog can’t get enough of!
My dog is now on a raw food diet which has really done wonders for his coat and teeth & boosted his energy. This has become my go to place for all my dog’s food & treats.

Wanting only the best for my feline babies I have been known to search Chicago-​land for the best natural food boutiques that cater to the needs of cats as well as dogs.
Paws Naturals carries the brands my cats prefer (Acana, BFF, Weruva, Instinct) and they have a loyalty program (spend $ 250 in store, get $ 10 off your next purchase) that is applicable to food (yay for that). The service is really hit or miss depending on who is there and the type of mood they are in, but everyone is allowed an off day every now and again, and these people know about pet nutrition. The store is clean and well organized, to enhance your shopping trip they provide actual CARTS– no more trying to juggle a 30lbs bag of food and a tiny basket full of cans.
Truly, the thing I like least about Paws Naturals are the prices, for example their BFF is 35cents higher than other similar establishments. I much prefer to get my cans of wet food at Krisers, especially since Krisers now has mix/​match 10% case discounts. However the rewards program and large stock of Acana and Instinct (dry) warrants a trip to Paws Naturals every couple of weeks.
Do not worry canine parents– there is plenty of stuff for your furry baby as well. (wink)
