Heartland is a meat processor and food distribution company that is known for it’s quality and service for restaurants, caterers, banquet halls, cruise ships, hospitals and institutions for all their food needs. We have the specialty to customize our proteins for our customers’ needs and provide fast and reliable service!

History

Established in 1967.

Heartland Meat was founded by local San Diegan, Joe Stidman, back in 1967 in El Cajon, California. As the business started to grow they moved to downtown San Diego on Fifth Avenue before the Gaslamp or Petco Park were even thought of. Business outgrew the physical space once again and Heartland moved South to National City just before the redevelopment of downtown San Diego. In 2004 Heartland had decided to consolidate it’s several occupancies into one building and built a new building in the City of Chula Vista. Heartland is still owned and operated locallly by Joe Stidman and his wife, Stephanie Stidman.
