Veterans Thrift Store

I have been donating to DAV for my entire adult life. While I’ve never been a retail customer, I have never been anything less than highly satisfied with their pickup and drop off services.
I’ve got to say, imo people who one star charitable organizations that help our veterans don’t value the service they gave to our country much.
A few times a year my son and I cull his toys and clothing and bag and box it up for DAV. As he has gotten older he has also contributed books and DVDs as well as he ages out of them. He really enjoys this process. He pauses and says «I think someone will love this, Mama!» In November, I think donated around 14 boxes. Before his birthday in the fall, we did 12. It’s just crazy how much stuff children accumulate though.
Disabled American Veterans is a great organization. My father is a disabled veteran, but he’s not the reason why we donate to them. My family has been giving to them for as long as I can remember. It’s not about getting a tax deduction. I’ve never used it for that purpose, although they do give you a receipt if you want one. I use it to teach my son about giving to others what he has too much of. They are super friendly and fast about scheduling pickups. You can schedule online and often pick your day. They call back quickly. Or you can just call them straight away 1−800−894−2486 or 619−337−9244. Schedule your pick up today and give away the items you don’t use, you won’t be disappointed and it will make a difference in someone else’s life!

They had lots of cool stuff however the girl at the register, Cecilia was not very nice and kind of put a damper on everything especially with the rain. I’ll go back and just hope that the customer service is better than next time around. Oh and I’ll give it two stars.

Laughable. $ 30 for Forever 21. I should have taken a photo of that isht. I scoured the entire store and didn’t end up buying anything. Someone stole my shopping cart when I looked away for a minute. Store smells like cheesy butthole. Line gets up to 10 people long before they’ll add another cashier (the person I went with made a purchase). Hot mess. Yeeeesh.

There is just a lot of everything at this thrift store. You’re sure to find something useful at an unbeatable price. Huge selection of clothes, belts, towels, baskets, home décor, jewelry, some furniture, etc. It certainly won’t hurt for you to stop in and look around. Already been here twice in two weeks, and I’m sure to come back. Just beware of parking. It can fill up quickly.

One of my top thrift shops. Never leave empty handed. So much selection and always find treasure. Great spot for revamp furniture on the outside patio, books galore, cute clothes. Alot of baby clothes. I love this place.

Ridiculously expensive now! You’re better off shopping at Walmart. I saw a running shirt for $ 10 that’s insane! I won’t be coming back, and I used to browse and pick often not anymore.

This location has improved by leaps and bounds in the last year. Selection of furniture has been awesome– Some really good vintage stuff, and I’ve actually found a couple of really rare pieces here at reasonable prices. Clothes selection is useful for costume parties– I’ve done some pretty sweet pimp and 80s costumes off of the rack here, ROFL. I’ve found some very good electronic goodies here as well– I bought a really cool AM-​FM-​Satellite receiver under a bunch of junk, for only $ 30. This is a good stop on any Saturday morning junking-​tour, and the selection is always good now. The key, however, is to get here at opening (9 or 10AM depending) — A lot of resellers from Tijuana buy this place bare by noon. Cool spot. Park across the street– There are always spots by the No-​Tell Motel.

I found snow gear here for a very good price. This was the only thrift store out of multiple ones I called that had snow gear to begin with.

They were open early and had a lot of selection. Just wish they had more furniture. Not a lot of people in the morning to help you but thats ok its self explanatory.

I’ve been coming to this thrift store since I was a little kid. My mom always called it «La Segunda» because she didn’t want anyone to know she bought my clothes here (it’s a Mexican thing)
I don’t come that often since I don’t live in CV anymore, but when I do I notice how they overprice a lot of simple items. Some things are priced well, but some things are way too much. This is a thrift store, secondhand, previously owned/​worn items. Quit trying to rip-​off the poor people who shop here because it’s their only option and not like the privileged hipster douche bags that flock over here. Unnecessary shot towards the hipsters but don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about!
Anyway, I almost always find something here, be it a record, book, or blouse. Can’t hate on the pricing too much, they just got smarter and know now to make sure they jack the prices on the fancy shit. This place will always be my go-​to spot in Chula Vista.

They have super cheap clothes and decent styles! I saw a really cute crochet top for 2.95! And a crop top for 95 cents! It does smell a little funky in there once you come in but despite that they sell some good stuff with good prices! I was bummed cuz the clothes I saw were not my size but I’ll definitely come back here again and look for more stuff.

This is an awesome thrift store! I usually purchase frilly girly dresses for my granddaughter to remain the princess that she is and this place was not short on those. This has become was of my favorite thrift stores. I just love finding things with the price tags still on them. The employees here are also very nice. This place has an outdoor section which is also amazing for two reasons. First, there is a barrage of awesome outdoor stuff there. Second, because the inside of this place really needs to have their floors scrubbed and cleaned along with a continuous sprayer of Febreze spraying all through the building.

This place has the best clothes I have ever found in many thrift stores I have been in.
The only caution I have to take is the smell. The smell inside the store us so foul that I can only last for a couple of minutes before wanting to leave.
Next time when I go here, I will bring febreze

Love coming here, I don’t always buy something but I like the hunt for that one treasure. Come here with an open mind, patience, time, and you’ll find great things. I’ve always found nice things here and from what I see they have great furniture finds too but the best ones are usually covered with «SOLD» signs plastered all over them. I’ve bought a few shirts but they don’t have much of a shoe selection for men. Today I bought a genuine leather jacket for men for $ 4.95 the cashier asked for a price check because its a really nice vintage jacket for so cheap, I’m guessing she thought I switched the tags but clearly I didn’t since the woman who prices things told her it was the right price, they priced it too low I’m guessing. If you see something you like buy it or the next time you come here it won’t be there, the shoppers here forget their manners while searching for those gems. I don’t bother much with the people who work there unless I need to see something in a display case but they are straight to the point. Cashiers are nice tho.

It’s your average thrift shop, kind of sloppy in some areas but you really need the patience to thrift. Luckily I wasn’t in a hurry that day, but I did come up with a nice short sleeve cardigan, a vintage blazer, and an orange tunic which were all under $ 4 a piece.
One thing I would recommend, is that if you’re looking for any home furniture, whether it be new or old, they have quite the selection here. As well as wheelchairs, crutches and other sorts of things for people with disabilities.

I’m a big fan of this really big thrift store for all the good things you can find. I don’t like the pricing on the clothing and toys so much … and the parking is awful. However = don’t miss the back room! it’s the real gem here.

I’ve gone to many thrift stores and I’m surprised people like it here. To me it smells :(I’ve bought items there, but overall I prefer other stores.
My other issues are how they price their items. It’s like sometimes things will be priced okay, to where they are decently priced, then other times they will really overprice things– like they forgot they are a thrift store! I have literally seen two items, the almost exact same item, and very differently priced…
And then sometimes those tags they put on items destroy the item, like they write in that red pen write on top of stuff and it just can’t be cleaned, they really need to change their tag system! Other thrift stores have a nice printed tag or a sticker! One that comes off nicely, not staining anything! I hope they get rid of that system.
I should go next time with a red wax pencil and charcoal pencil and just change their prices! lol ;)

One of the better thrift stores on broadway. I came here near the tail end of a thrifting spree in south bay and I get tired easily when I have been driving and searching all day, especially when I have had no luck finding anything good.
This is a pretty large shop, and nothing is that organized, but surprisingly I found a lot of good clothes. The prices are so so, some stuff was overpriced, but overall good prices, and a lot of good stuff. I will definitely be back!
Parking is TERRIBLE. Lot is small. The st is obviously busy, so when there is no parking, turning around, making u turns to go around is very stressful, I had to park down the st and walk across.

Pros: Eclectic selection (the store is huge), prices are good, and it can be quite a treasure hunt (assuming you find something worth the time you’ve spent in the store).
Cons: Parking can be difficult to get AND their clothes are unorganized.

Everything you want about a thrift store delivers here. I go once a week and there’s always something new to see.
I find the prices to be about right with a few exceptions on items that still have the tag on them. Just because it’s in new condition is no reason to mark it so high, in my opinion.
They take credit cards which is nice.
Don’t expect any further mark downs though. I’ve used every tactic I have in my arsenal and they have never reduced the price any further for me.
