Hyatt Regency Cincinnati

I REALLY struggled between a 3 and 4 star review.
This is a beautiful hotel and I would stay here again but let me start with the thing that I find completely appalling. My comforter did not have a duvet. Meaning it was the flat sheet, a loose down comforter and another sheet and that was the bedding. Let this sink in… This comforter isn’t laundered like sheets. Definitely not daily, probably not weekly, unlikely even monthly… Keep letting that sink in. Yeah… Unsanitary, disturbing and disgusting. And to top it off, all these were tucked in together so when you go to get into bed, everything is untucked. So I slept under some sheets for my stay.
Another annoying thing was the size of the room. I think mine was exceptionally small because I was on the end (payback for catching a deal? I don’t know). However, a full size, grown man would not have fit in this bathroom. I promise you. Even the hairdryer was tiny which was SUCH and inconvenience considering I have long hair. I’m traveling, not the hotel… Spend $ 40 on a full size hairdryer. Check out the size of things in the posted pics.
A couple annoying housekeeping things… Half the shower curtain was unhooked, there wasn’t a hotel book in my room (detailing amenities, room service menu, etc…), how the bed was made and no robe in the bathroom. Housekeeping needs to be a little more thorough.
On a good note, this hotel is beautiful and the food options are really great! This is important to me when traveling (especially for business) because you’re at the mercy of the hotel or your surroundings to eat. The restaurant in the bar is really good and nice. Jump over to Red Roost Tavern for my review on that. The market in the lobby is perfect for grabbing a coffee, breakfast or a quick snack and offers places to sit and enjoy. Also, all the staff was very nice and helpful which is so key in hospitality.
If the Hyatt can fix their bed issue and assuming other rooms are bigger, I’d choose to stay here many times in my business travels to Cincinnati. Until then, I’ll be moving on to cleaner comforters.
P. S. The TV has a guide! For whatever reason, most hotels do not have a guide showing you want is on tv. Not sure why but was elated to see this hotel did.

This place is a total dump. My room stank of cigarettes and had no bottled water. Not what you expect for hundred of dollars

Very clean. Nice facility. Beds were NOT comfortable AT ALL. Otherwise ok experience. Did I mention beds not comfortable?

I managed to stay at this Hyatt property twice within a matter of two weeks. During my first stay, I hopped in the shower and grabbed the shampoo only to realize that the bottle was empty. I notified the front desk and they said that they would take care of it. During my second stay I managed to get a room in a different floor and hopped in the bathroom to shower and noticed that my toiletries were all half full leading me to believe that they had already been used. While the hotel lobby looks nice the rooms are missing the attention to detail that I would expect from a Hyatt property. They don’t have covers on the spring boxes and if they miss such minor details as changing the toiletries. What else are they missing?! This has been tarnished my opinion of Hyatt properties and I’m extremely disappointed.

Nothing special. Front desk staff was not overly friendly. Parking across from hotel at a decent price. Good location.

We stayed with the Hyatt for 2 nights-​Friday ¹¹⁄₁₃ and Saturday ¹¹⁄₁₄.
Positives: Valet and bellhop were great-​very friendly. Our room was very clean-​we stayed in 2201.
I sat at the bar with Rose-​sweetest bartender ever-​on Saturday morning and watched the OSU game. The Hyatt has an awesome bar and the restaurant food is great! The chicken soup is smokey and just amazing.
When checking out we called down and they pulled the car up-​no waiting around at all. Very organized.
Downsides: Very tiny and very cramped room. The bathroom was awkward for 1 person to use. The ice machine wasn’t working so we had to call for ice a few times and the vending machine was not working either.

Small well-​appointed room with a fantastic view of the river. It’s also a very short walk to most downtown restaurants. I came for a one-​night getaway and I can’t wait to come back.

Great fitness center. The food downstairs was kind of pricey for the options they offer. My room was clean and it satisfied my basic needs. Wifi is not the best, and if one needs to print then one needs to pay. Never been in a hotel that charges for everything you do all separate. This hotel did not delight me.

Great location but the room is extremely small and not as luxury as you think. Forget about the luxury, it is just economical.
We are passport platinum member. We don’t get any special recognition. Prefer Marriott totally. We get recognized and treated better.
I went into the shower this morning and was shocked the fungus on the shower wall. Disgusting.
I will never stay in this Hyatt ever again.

Stayed here this past Thursday. Located in the heart of downtown. I guess it was recently renovated and generally looks really nice. Room was clean and pretty updated. Service was friendly at checkin. Wifi was reasonably fast. Valet parking is kind of expensive at $ 28 a night but oh well. Would stay here again.

1 night stay. Bathrooms was as good as can be with 30 yr old tubs to work with. Room was set up great. Bed was «ok». Through no fault of theirs it was a little hard for my taste. Staff was great… simply great! We were welcomed by valets as we stepped out of the car, walked in and was in the room within minutes.

Hyatt hotels are starting to look a lot like Westin hotels. Their rooms are much more modern and the beds more comfy. Nothing extra-​special about this hotel. 10 minute walk to Great American Ballpark so it was a great place for us to stay while we were in town for a game.

Clean, roomy, very well maintained with contemporary finishes. The pillows are super squishy and wonderful. In a terrific location near many restaurants and whole foods. Greater’s is IN their parking lot!!!
We stayed here for 5 days with a baby and a dog. The breakfasts are fresh and fabulous: something off the griddle, oatmeal with a variety of toppings, GRAPEFRUIT, other fruit, bagels and toast, yogurts and cottage cheese!
Then there’s the 24 hr lounge and bar — terrific lil menu and delicious food. The flatbreads are legit. Also the chocolate chip cookies are like little brown chunks of paradise brought down from the heavens just for your hotel stay.
You’ll like your stay here. And if you come with family, I suggest Blaze Pizza right down the st.

This was my first stay at this hotel. We came for the wine festival, staying for Friday and Saturday nights. Last year, we did the package at the Hilton Netherlands and did not enjoy our room at all. Super small, very dated, and nowhere in the bathroom to put any toiletries. So we tried the Hyatt this year and loved it. Our room was on the 16^th floor and had a nice view of downtown buildings. Nothing spectacular but still nice. And the huge counter in the bathroom? Loved it! Only gripe was the single sink was slightly off-​center and of course, the side with the outlet was the smaller side. And I used that side since I have a flat-​iron. I would have preferred the sink be centered or the the side with the outlets be the larger side, since things would obviously be plugged in on that side. But I was just happy to have room to put stuff so no biggie. The room was really nice, felt spacious considering it wasn’t a huge suite or anything. And free wi-​fi. The Hilton had no such thing, even for my husband who was a Hilton Honors silver member. The only bad thing about our stay were the jerks next door who woke up our entire floor at 3:30am when they came in and proceeded to yell and slam doors for at least 45 minutes. I finally had to call down the front desk and I could tell I wasn’t the first one to call about these people. And the hotel did come up immediately to address the issue. No stars removed since that is really not the hotel’s fault and they really did all they could do. The other nice thing was the breakfast buffet in the restaurant downstairs. It seemed pricey at $ 16.95 but then I realized that all non-​alcholic drinks were included, including juices. And they offered to-​go beverages when we left. And what we couldn’t see at first glance of the buffet was that you could order omelettes and pancakes. Maybe waffles, I dunno since we didn’t order those. And the breakfast potatoes were amazing. And I had received an email from the hotel saying if we mentioned the wine festival, we could get 10% off the restaurant, which we did. So that was nice. We had a great stay and next year, we plan to stay at the Hyatt again. Excellent!

Overall very pleased with my stay at the Hyatt! The rooms are nicely decorated and based on my limited inspection, clean. Bathrooms in both rooms, were large and offered lots of bright light. The beds were comfy enough to actually have me saying «I wish I had this mattress at my house». How often does that happen?! Bonuses for this stay included the valet service, which was relatively quick, the restaurant options on floor one of the hotel (which offer many different healthy, not so healthy and liquid options), and the fact that they allow pets. Probably one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had!

Not impressed at all, check in was okay but the clerk ignored my question three times then finally answered me at the end of the process. For some reason the elevators are always a 10 minute wait and room service is over a hour… maybe they are just really busy but come on you know when your going to need more staff for crying crying out loud your in the hospitality business!
Spend a few more dollars and go to another hotel in this price range. The double room we are in needs some TLC. In the bathroom, grout in the shower pretty dirty, the AC/​heater makes a huge bang every 15 minutes so it makes it kinda hard to sleep. The bed made my back hurt (not sure why some beds do that to me).
Will not return to this hotel to many other choices in the area.
Well just checked out and to top it off valet lost our car! The wait was 40 minutes for valet, the excuse again was they are busy (yikes what happens when they are really busy) So I went to get my car instead of just waiting surprise its lost!!! No excuses just poor service plain and simple

This is. It my first stay at this hotel. My business partner and I try to stay here every time we come to cincinnati. The location is very convenient to downtown and I75. The rooms are updated with a really comfortable bed and the service is great.
If the Internet was a little bit faster that would make the experience even better!
We stayed in couple of downtown hotels and this one is certainly one of the best!

I chose this hotel not just for the prime downtown location but for the 5^th floor pool. I was never all about the hotel pools when I was a kid but now I can’t wait to find the next best hotel pool. I have yet to find a better way to start the morning off than an early indoor dip. Yes, the Hyatt’s pool is small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in style and a sun bathing deck with urban views all around.
A few reasons I walked away from my experience very satisfied:
–friendly staff: from the check-​in desk and cleaning crew to the valet fellas and everywhere in between, they get hospitality
–updated rooms with great views — I’m especially grateful for my corner room with bonus windows. Yes, yes, yes.
–walkability — this location is especially ideal for those in town for conventions (located across the street)
–lastly, thanks for letting me check in über early and drop off my stuff in the room

Sometimes, it’s the little things at a hotel, beyond a nice room, that can either make or break the experience. This is another one of those cases.
First, I was disappointed to find upon arrival that this Hyatt Regency had no Regency Club. I’m finding this more and more, and it’s unfortunate, because a Regency Club is a major reason I chose to pay the higher cost of a Regency, as opposed to just staying at the more convenient to the airport Hyatt Place location for $ 139, instead of the $ 229 this location was. Maybe you should change the name if most of the Hyatt Regency’s I’ve stayed at, don’t have Regency Club’s. E.g. DFW, Austin, and now Cincinnati.
Second, I understand not having the Regency Club is you have some excellent dining alternatives to the club. As a Gold Passport Diamond for a few years now, and a weekly business traveler, I will choose hotels based in the quality and convenience of a good meal. Instead, the Market, in the lobby, was a huge disappointment. I have attached a photo of the completely empty pastry case, and I basically had about 4 options for a breakfast sandwich or burrito, a bowl with a couple apples/​oranges, or a bowl of processed Quaker Oats. Maybe you should take a look at the Hyatt French Quarter. They have a café in the lobby called Powdered Sugar. This is how you offer an alternative to not having a Regency Club. There are pastries galore, and a full breakfast menu from biscuits with pulled pork gravy, or full breakfast dishes such as egg white omelets with spinach and feta.
The other huge disappointment was the Internet speed. I have access to all of my movies on my network at home, through an app on my iPad. So I often watch movies while I exercise, or am just sitting in my room. Again, being a Diamond member, I get the lower level Internet access for free, which normally cost $ 5. I attempted to stream a movie, and it buffered every 30 – 60 seconds, which was clearly unacceptable. So I paid the additional $ 4 to upgrade to their «Premium» Internet. This changed little, and I still had problems with timing out, and the movie pausing. Seriously, if you are going to charge an average customer $ 9 for Internet access, it should be at least 15 – 20 Mbps. That was not the case.
The room a as fine, and looked like any other full service Hyatt I have stayed at. But nice nonetheless. The only real bonus I found of this location is it’s proximity to the «other» good dining options off of Vine. It would have been a nice walk if it hadn’t been 30 degrees on April 15, since it’s about 0.6 miles to the heart of the restaurant area.
Some things need to change for me to consider staying here again, which is disappointing because I try to keep Hyatt hotels as my first choice, and use Hilton as my backup, but I may have to go to my backup with I’m in Cincinnati now.

I’m guessing a lot of the low reviews were pre remodel and pre restaurant redesign.
I loved my stay — no issues.
Two valet ($ 26) gentlemen provided us a great welcome, introduced themselves, offered help, & directed us to check-​in. They even gave a recommendation on timing for requesting our car (30min in mornings, 15min other times).
Inside check-​in proceeded quickly. I was asked if I would need my late check-​out, but declined.
Our room was 2009. A nice double room with a view of the Millennium Hotel pool and Macy’s. There was construction next to the Millennium but since I stayed on a weekend I can’t comment on noise from the site as nothing was going on. The beds were comfy and I really liked the shower head. There was a nice swivel desk chair in the room — the kind I have at home actually. There was also a low back chair in the window so plenty of seating for 2 occupants and the TV was visible from them all. The blue/​gray tones of the room were pleasant.
The restaurant, Red Roost Tavern, was good too. I had cedar planked salmon served on the plank with a choice of 2 sides.
The pool was nice looking — under a greenhouse type glass so pretty humid feeling. There was also a nice sun deck with chairs, though no view (5^th floor). Definitely not as big as the Millennium Hotel’s pool and sundeck.
The gym was nice. There were 3 kids fooling around in it when I visited, but nice equipment. Free water. 2^nd floor.
The lobby has a big airy feeling. In addition to the restaurant and check-​in there is a small market area and access to Saks without going outside. Not a ton of seating, but the restaurant was never busy so you could go there — and the market which closed early had seating too.
The only downside would have been noise from elevator construction. It didn’t really bother us as we checked-​out early, but the noise filled our room as we were preparing to leave and we could hear it down about 10 floors as we descended on the lift. They didn’t start it early, but just the same, it would have been a major disruption to any thought process.
