We are a premier kayak rental service based in Cleveland, Ohio. We provide a unique rental service featuring self guided and guided kayaking tours for the nature lovers in the Cleveland area and Northeast Ohio. Featured waterways include the Cuyahoga River, Rocky River and the Ohio Erie Canal in Northeast Ohio. Kayak rentals are offered from Spring through Fall. Come and experience Ohio and the Cleveland area with River Cruiser Kayaking. We are currently booking advance online kayak rental reservations.

History

Established in 2013.

River Cruiser Kayaking has been touring the area waterways for over 20 years, even before offering our services in 2013. Our passion for the great outdoors has inspired us to offer the opportunity for customers to experience some of the great places the area has to offer.

My Aunt and Uncle own a place on the Upper Cuyahoga river and when I was in high school, I would go out to their place on the weekends to canoe the river. During the years I was working full time, I would take time off work to canoe stretches of the Cuyahoga River with a co-​worker. We had decided to canoe the entire Cuyahoga River. We would plan out 6 – 10 mile trips every year and charted out a plan to complete this exciting voyage. Years after completing our trips, I had decided to volunteer for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, where I could enjoy viewing the river from the train as I worked. I decided in 2012 to purchase my own kayak and again enjoy trips on the Cuyahoga River. I noticed that not many people where kayaking this beautiful waterway and the idea for River Cruiser Kayaking was born.

Me and my wife have been interested in getting into Kayaking so we booked a guided tour with Dan to take us through the Cuyahoga River. The trip was absolutley amazing, Dan was able to help us navigate the river in our tandem kayak all the while pointing out the nature around us, seeing things such as Herons, Hawks, Mink, Swallows, and the crown jewel of the tour was a breath taking view of an american Bald Eagle. We will be booking more tours through River Cruiser Kayaking for sure, totally worth it! had a BLAST!

Our tour guide Dan was fantastic! Very friendly! It was our first time kayaking and he made sure we felt very comfortable and safe! Our tour lasted about 2 hours and we were able to see a beautiful sunset and a couple beavers including a momma and her baby. Dan was very informative on the different insects and birds that we saw through out the tour as well as the history that goes along with the river. I have nothing but good words to say for Dan and our tour! He went above and beyond for us. We called to book a tour and unfortunately he was full but called us back shortly after when he had some one cancel! Can’t say many other businesses would do something like that! I would definitely recommend this to everyone — new or experienced! If I knew how to upload the beautiful pictures I took… I would guess you will have to see for yourself!

Just had my first kayak experience and enjoyed every minute of it! I did the Scarlet Gray Run with just Dan and I. Dan was very helpful and informative. The run took about 2.5 hrs, it wasn’t too difficult but not a real easy run either. I will definitely be back to book another trip! Only tip I would add is to wear some water shoes because it gets a little muddy!

Had the extreme pleasure of booking the Aqua run with River Cruiser Kayaking. Dan is the definition of professional and enables even a noob like me feel comfortable and safe. He provides excellent insight into the rivers, provides you with all of the training and equipment, you just book it, show up and off you go! An amazing day indeed. Had a great time on the guided tour on the Cuyahoga River through the National Park. Got to see lots of wildlife, including a bald eagle flying overhead. My tour guide, Dan, was friendly, knowledgable, and helped navigate the river the whole way.
Highly recommend you check out this tour. This has been my best kayaking experience in Cleveland to date.

Our group of 6 paddled with River Cruiser Kayaking owner Dan Hudak on 4.21.14. We took the Cuyahoga River guided tour, launching from Harvard Avenue and taking out at Wendy Park where the river empties into Lake Erie. The entire trip ran 3 hours, a 7 mile journey, and we loved it! Dan did a great job in giving us the background on the river, pointing out landmarks along the way and explaining the history of what we saw. It was a unique urban paddling adventure combined with an architectural and historical tour that made for a wonderful experience.

River cruiser offers some seriously majestic river runs that it seems no one else does. We did a 3 hr run from Harvard rd to lake Erie which was amazing. I’d never seen the two souls to Cleveland laid so bare as in paddling past the belching steal mills while herons squawked above us and the skyline loomed ahead. Reasonable prices too!
