This place is the real deal. Our meal was flawless. Perfectly-and I mean pefectly cooked local trout, seasoned beautifully. Thoughtful and creative garnish. Everything served was worth every single penny. Our waitress, at our request, recommend a really nice French white that was also prefect. The dining area is cozy, yet it works. I hope to be a regular. If you want a very special night out, you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant was recommended while I was traveling for work in the area. Wonderful oasis of fine dining and atmosphere. The green curry and lamb was outstanding. A must go for anyone overnighting in the area.

What a great restaurant in the small scenic, busy, and friendly town of Clifton Forge. The service was excellent, the food outstanding. You will want to visit again.

Amazing restaurant with delicious food and wonderfully friendly staff! Every dish was out of this world! Even more amazing to learn the Chef’s story and the history of the restaurant. A real gem hidden in Clifton Forge!

I have eaten here with my family twice since Café Michel reopened. It has a cozy dining space and very intimate feel. The service has always been great and the owner Michel even came out to greet us personally on both occasions. The food is a very good execution of traditional French cuisine. My ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and the mountain trout is excellent. It can also be a sophisticated place to stop for cocktails or after dinner drinks when visiting Clifton Forge.
