Giant Rv

The only reason why I would give this dealership 1 star is because of their mechanic that helped me (too bad I forgot his name). First and foremost, this is my first RV purchase and it was a nightmare. Not sure who I should blame, manufacturer or dealership, but the overall experience wasn’t pleasant. I had originally purchased my trailer at the Pomona RV show in October and my delivery was almost 3 weeks delayed! I placed so many calls to the manufacturer and Giant RV (Jamie) and I was given the run around. I paid a lot of $$ for my trailer and to be treated the way I was is inexcusable.
After taking delivery of my trailer and listing a few items on a «due bill» during my walk thru, I took it out for the first time the following day and noticed a few more things that needed correcting, which is normal. I set my appointment for January 7^th and during my visit went over all the «due bill» items that needed to be worked on and other items that also needed correcting. I dealt with Shaun as my service rep who told me everything should be fixed in 2 weeks and he would contact me within a week to touch basis (NEVER received a call). I then called Shaun 4 days before my due date and he said everything was taken care and the only thing that needed to be done was fixing the heater issue but it should be done by my due date. He also said he would call me if any issues came up (NEVER received a call).
Today (due date) I drive 1 ½ — 2 hrs to pick up my trailer and Shaun tells me he wasn’t expecting me until tomorrow! I remind him of my delivery date, which is written on the invoice HE gave me, and then he proceeds to tell me the heater isn’t fixed yet but everything else is. He tells me the mechanic is going to need 2 hrs to fix the heater issue since he wasn’t expecting me until tomorrow (why wait till the last minute to fix an issue!!!). At this point I don’t believe anything he is telling me and ask to see my trailer. After I walked thru my trailer, I find out ONLY 4 out of 8 items had been addressed! He then told me he was still waiting on the manufacturer to approve the work under warranty (why not call me to tell me this prior to my trip to the dealership, why not advise the manager about this!!!). I was furious at this point and spoke to his manager who told me he would look into it.
After a few hrs, my heater was done but the other issues couldn’t be dealt with at the moment. By the way, the manufacturer approved the work (miraculously) while I was there. In my opinion, it was just poor follow up by Shaun. This whole experience was a waste of my time! I no longer plan on visiting this dealership for any repairs or future purchases. I asked the mechanic (the only person that really cared and knows how to treat the customers) to ship all the parts I’m waiting on to my home so I can do the repairs myself. BBB is definitely getting a copy of this horrible experience.

We were treated very well and even though the problem wasn’t solved all the way they did what they could and they even got our air compressor approved when that wasn’t on our warranty.

I filled out a form online about selling my trailer. They called me back a few hours later and said they needed to talk to the buyer. Frank Virag said he would call me back in the morning. 4 days later I still have not received a call.

I just canceled my purchase with Giant RV. My wife and I were happy with the deal we worked out but it’s been two weeks with no answers. I submitted all the information they requested. I am sure they were working hard on trying to get us financed but what what made me stop the deal was that phone calls and emails were not returned when we wanted to check on progress and where we stand. The last call I got was for tax forms. 5 days later and not even a simple call to say we are still working on it. What’s really sad is I got a better response when I wanted to cancel. The cancelation letter for me to sign was emailed promptly and so was the reply to verify it was received in the same manner. Don’t take this review as a customer who couldn’t get financed and is upset. I never got a yes or a no. A trailer is a big purchase and I just want to know what progress is being made if any and not wonder if they just gave up. If this is what happens during a purchase then I can only imagine what service is like after. All I wanted was a simple phone call or email and we would still be moving forward with this.

Talk about a waste of 2 months.
The wife and I go in there to just look at Toy Haulers. The salesman Steve is brand new and way over his head so they replace him with the smooth talker Jamie who is slightly more knowledgeable but just as full of crap.
To make a long story short they tried selling us a 5^th wheel that was 2000lbs over what the truck is legally allowed to tow but assured us it would be fine. Knowing better, and after talking with my insurance agent, I declined and it only took 3 weeks to get my deposit money refunded.
Fast forward 6 weeks and they call back saying they have a new toy hauler in my size (still about 2000 lbs over what my truck can tow but at least it is a bumper pull) and said it was «super clean» and had new tires but I needed to come check it out as it just got there and would go fast.
I check it out during the rain storm and we strike a decent deal where they promise me the world (low APR, cheaper warranty, 2^nd AC installed at dealer cost, etc). I agree and we’re set to pick it up in a week’s time. I decide to head back down after the rain and check it out better. Now it has the front and side delaminating (probably from a water leak) and I notice the tires are all 5 years old (Toy Haulers should have tires replaced every 3 years). They again assure it’s fine and very common but some research suggests otherwise.
I ask them to fix these issues to bring it back to its described condition and they tell me to take a hike. What a waste of time and the couple points it took off my credit score.
Do yourself a favor and find a better RV dealership. These guys are why people hate salesmen.
Edit: Based on my poor experience as documented in this review they decided to respond by using my real name, calling me a liar, and accusing me of having poor credit. Talk about a classy place to do business. If only they returned phone calls and disclosed problems as well as they libel a potential customer.
Buyer beware!

This Bob B. guy that leaves the copy and paste apology seems like a joke. I hope he has done more for his dissatisfied customers than this! I love Unilocal and always look here for customer reviews before doing any business. I have read where other company owners/​managers would contact their unhappy and cheated customers to really try to make things right. No such action from Bob B. I’m looking to buy an RV as we speak and reading all of these reviews deters me from Giant RV. Especially, all the negative experiences in the service department.

The service Department is horrible!!!
I made an appointment and showed up with our trailer to meet the service writer Todd. What a joke. He starts of by asking me if I like people to be blunt or sugar coat things. WTF kind of business has people who talk to customers like that. I prefer that people be honest and not jerk me around. Our trailer manufacturers one year warranty was up one day after I brought the trailer in and figured why not get a couple little things fixed for free before the warranty expired. Every time I mentioned a problem, Todd said that was an adjustment and therefore not covered by the warranty. I responded by saying that a grey tank sensor that doesn’t work means it’s broken not out of adjustment. At that point I realized nothing I said was going to change the obvious tactic of calling everything wrong with our trailer an adjustment or not covered by the warranty.
Finally, I asked Todd if I could be «blunt» and told him what a joke this place was and turned around and went elsewhere. Giant RV exists by having sales people make false claims about their services and screws you when you come back. If people would just read all of the negative reviews and take their business to reputable dealers, this place would go broke.

My three year old and I went to Giant RV in Colton to shop for a travel trailer. We walked in through the front door 5 minutes before they open. I saw salesman standing around in and outside the building smoking and drinking coffee. The receptionist at the front desk tells me «we’re not open yet, come back in 5 minutes. Flustered, I drove off and called back 15 minutes later and spoke to a salesman. I told him what we were looking for. He said he was going to check his invantory and call me back. I waited all day and he never called back.
The next morning, I went to Mike Thompsons RV down the street and bought a $ 25,000 trailer. This is the second time this has happened with Giant RV in Colton, and I will never go back again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I’ve had the 5^th wheel I purchased from this garbage dealership for 3 days now, there’s a crack in the holding water tank, broken clamps for sewage lines, electrical system problems, and just a general POS! I bought warranty for over $ 3000 and warranty company won’t cover anything. Do not trust this garbage dealership. Save yourself time, money, and frustration. I wish I had. I allowed them to screw me, heed my warning and don’t let them screw you!!!

I would have rather been serviced by a pack of apes, than by these people at Giant RV.
To preface, we had no choice but to buy our RV from Giant RV because the model we wanted is sold exclusively by Giant RV. To say that these guys are crooks is an understatement. We knew the exact model that we wanted and knew what features came standard and what the going price was for the unit we wanted. After months of negotiation and game playing (they did not honor previous quotes and ended up trying to sell us a unit for the original quote but with the TV missing in the bedroom), we finally came to an agreement on a decent price with all the features we wanted at their recent RV Show in Pomona.
We made a downpayment for it in cash and was quoted 1 – 2 weeks for a 2016 model. We had paperwork reflecting all the features that we wanted and paid for. 3 weeks went by and still no RV. But, during these 3 weeks, one of the managers tried to get us into a 2015 model claiming that it was a 2016. Then the search started for another unit that had ceiling fans missing that were supposed to be included. And let’s see … I ended up talking to and dealing with 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 … 7 Giant RV employees during this fiasco! NO ONE at any point seemed to know what the hell was going on!!! Every time I talked to someone, it seemed like I had to start from square one and it was SOOO DAMN FRUSTRATING.
We finally got the RV and went to pick it up. A side note: there is a popcorn machine with free popcorn — EAT AT YOUR OWN RISK! We watched an employee reach into the machine with his bare hands, MIX THE POPCORN and then grab a handful to eat — THE SIGN THAT YOU PUT ON THE MACHINE SAYS «USE THE SCOOPER!!!»
I do have to say that the one bright spot was the service tech who showed us all of the features (his name evades me). He definitely saved the day with his patience and knowledge of everything while he showed us all of the features on the RV.
Folks, I am warning you, do yourselves a favor and please avoid Giant RV.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would.
Took our pop up in here 4 times. First to get an AC unit put on. AC worked fine because it was a plug in. But after the install nothing else worked. The propane, battery, etc. all dead. 2^nd time taking it in they ADMIT they wired it wrong after the AC install.
Keep in mind these guys are supposed to be professional service guys for RVs. After they «fixed the wiring» we took it camping… 3^rd time in because still nothing works! They claim that our battery is dead and we need a new one. They replace the batteries and wires and STILL nothing works! Went back today demanding a refund and they tell us everything is tested before they give it back. Then try to say we are turning it on incorrectly and they want us to bring it back a 5^th time to see what we are doing wrong.
Unreal. The service manager is a joke.
They are all so unprofessional and seriously do not know RVs.
Avoid this place like the plague.
We finally cut our losses and are taking it somewhere else.

My Son and I went to Giant RV today 06-​29-​2015.
Walking in I asked the receptionist we’d like to shop used RV’s, she interns calls out to this «Thing» who strolls out looking like a reject from Smokey and the Bandit…
Mr. Thing walks us outside, and goes over to a patio table to get his pack of cigarette’s «Marlboro Gold’s» and a lighter. Then asks me how much we’re willing to spend… I tell Mr. Thing it’s our first day out looking, telling him a cash price I’m looking for… Mr. Thing then without hesitation blurts out «I get two hundred of you people in here a month» then proceeded to tell us that his inventory will be gone tomorrow by 9am.
As quick as it started I’m already done with Mr. Thing, and Giant RV…

Just pixed up my trailer from service after a month and the job they did was half fast. Never will I buy from Giant RV from Colton.

Honestly, if it weren’t for Shawn Zanganeh, I would be messaging everyone I could and posting bad reviews everywhere on the internet. He did the best that he could to salvage Johnathan Livingston’s mess.
We bought our RV in March, paid cash, and wasn’t delivered to us until three full weeks later. Upon its arrival, we found that the batteries were both completely DEAD. could not hold a charge to save their lives (I took them to AutoZone to *try* to charge them to no avail). On top of that, the driver was not given the spare keys that I was specifically asked to leave. So, the driver arrived with his own battery and completely disconnected every single cable.
Now, I am not wire-​savvy. So, all these hanging wires made absolutely no sense to me at all. Not only did I have to go out and buy 2 brand new batteries, but John had promised to come to my residence to fix the wiring issue, to bring my spare keys, and give me a $ 40 gift card.
That never happened. I tried calling and texting him practically every day and never received a response. I re-​wired the whole thing myself. A month later, I got tired of it. I drove down to Colton and was told that Jonathan Livingston no longer worked there and I was referred over to Shawn. He did what he could… I can’t blame him for the mess that transpired. Shawn did issue me the $ 40 for parts/​service, but John still has our key… somewhere.

First, they were very efficient when we purchased our 5^th Wheel. Gave us a gift certificate to write a review on their site. Funny thing I wrote a review of the service dept and it never got posted.
I’ve owned RV’s since 1979, and this is the worst service department I’ve ever dealt with. Took our 5^th wheel back to Giant on January 9^th, they kept it until March. They fixed 2 of the 7 items. 3 items they said were fixed, not so. We fixed them ourselves. Ordered 2 parts a replacement radio and a table leg. They’re now telling me they’ll have to keep it for multiple days. Avoid the service department at all costs.

Follow up on service at Giant RV — Colton.
Finally they both parts are in. Went for our appointment yesterday. Radio is new, still broken.
The table leg was installed on the counter extension. Lifted the counter and the table leg FELL OFF. I’m not dealing with them again. I will find someplace else to fix any of the issues we have.

As with several other reviews our main issue with Giant RV was with the Service department, their gross negligence and lack of customer service in addition to the complacency of management.
In February I took our RV in for scheduled service via the after hours drop off. Without signing any paperwork to do so, my wife and I removed almost all of our possessions, since we were uncertain of how long we would be leaving it. Our RV was left with the company for service for 10 days. Our first issue was the condition of the RV when we came to pick up. The floors were filthy, the drawers and cabinets had clearly been searched through and one of thew few items left within the RV, an R/​C truck, was missing. Upon further inspection, there was no sign of break in, so we brought up the issue with the Service Manager Tony. Much to our disappointment, our concerns were rebutted by an openly hostile, confrontational attitude by Tony. Coldly, we were told that this was our problem, not his. It was clear that since the service had been completed, he wanted nothing else to do with us, I decided to file a police report to document the situation. The following Monday we brought up the issue and police report with the Vice President of the company. Sadly we were met with the same cold, uncaring dispassion we had already received from the Service Manager. Including being retold that this was our problem, not that of Giant RV.
It was this lack of professionalism, and the complete absence of anything close to customer service that will keep us away from Giant RV for any future service or needs. Not only did we feel violated by having our possessions searched through and stolen after entrusting their care to this company. But to not even have our concerns acknowledged and openly rebuffed and ignored is nothing short of being violated for a second time. With the amount of money that we spent with this company for the initial purchase of the RV as well as the service contract, I thought that at the very least they could do was acknowledge the issue. But it seems that they are incapable of even the very least. In fact, I have walked away from this situation feeling as if I was at fault for having my possessions stolen.
All i can say is BE WARNED… It is apparent to me that this company and its management are only concerned with getting as much money as possible with no regard to the actions or practices of their employees, or any sense of service to their customers. WIth such blatant disregard to the needs, concerns or issues of their clients, it’s amazing they have any customers at all.

AVOID GIANT RV!
Worst service department I have ever dealt with. My advisor was less than efficient. I can tell you all about his father and how they were bowlers and what ball he bowled with, growing up in CA, etc. Yet nobody has yet to even look at my RV.
I had warranty issues on my new RV. I contacted the mfg and had the parts shipped directly to Giant Rv in Colton. I scheduled an appointment with Giant RV directly to get the parts installed. They said it would be 3 weeks until they could work on it. All the work should take a few hours. They instructed me to be there at 8am sharp so they could try to get it done in a day. It might take 2. I changed my travel plans and stayed in the area for 3 weeks. I showed up at 8 am 3 weeks later. We full-​time and needed our home back. That’s why we had the mfg approvals and parts shipped in advance. Giant RV stated they would call me later in the day to give me an accurate estimate of how long they will be keeping it. I am now on my second day in the hotel. Giant RV has yet to even pull the rv inside to take a look. I called again to ask how long before I get the time estimate. They are now telling me it will be 5 – 7 more days before they will look at it and I can’t take it back because they need it there for when the technician becomes available. Absolutely ridiculous. I am now going to have to take it out of there without any work having been done. I lost 3 weeks and $$$ on hotels due to their incompetence.
I understand being busy. I understand other customers are equally important. I don’t understand a week of delays to install 3 parts, which take only a few hours. They claim it’s the paperwork of getting the warranty work approved. I say BS as; 1) they haven’t even pulled the rv into the shop yet 2) the parts were sent in advance by the mfg so how much more approval do they need and 3) I have the mfg warranty approver at the corp office wanting to get on the phone with the Giant RV service mgr telling them to do the work! The corp warranty approver already told the service writer it’s approved.
My only option is to pull my RV out if there, cut my losses, share this horrible experience and hope others never go through it.

Possibly the most incompetent repairs/​service on some warranty items/​issues we had on our fifth wheel. I actually had to get Frankie the «Owner» involved to get the ball rolling a few times. Just an FYI I will never take my rig there again and for that matter won’t buy another RV from Giant.

Don’t ever buy from here. I bought an RV in May started driving it May 23^rd and now being August and it has broken down 3 times and had to be put in the shop to be repaired. I bought the warranty that cost thousands of extra dollars and when I called giant RV and Craig the representative from the road to help me figure out what to do (I am a first time RV owner) he and giant RV did nothing to help me. The warranty that I bought covers very little as I found out and definitely not what they promised me. I am 95k in with a broke down RV 2 months after I purchased it. I would consider somewhere else or buying private if you can. I definitely feel like I got ripped off.
