I’m not a big fan of the mall and I’m especially not a big fan of mall food courts. But I’m a sucker for a good burger and I kept hearing good things about the Flip Spot. SO – I bucked up and headed to the mall food court to try the Flip Spot. The burger itself was exceptionally good and — based on the burger alone — I would have given this a 4-star rating. Service, on the other hand, was exceptionally bad. It was extremely SLOW and the staff offered no apologies for the terrible service. The wives of a couple guys standing in line with me came looking for their husbands and said the rest of the family was already done eating. One young guy waiting in line reported to his mother that he had been waiting over 22 minutes at that point. The time-stamp on my order was 1:31PM, I got my burger and fries at 1:47PM(16 minutes). And speaking of fries — they were pretty generic. I even ordered the«ranch seasoning» and the fries still only got a 2-star rating. In addition, there were a couple of kids related to one of the workers who were hanging over the counter and generally being a nuisance. They did eventually order food but the staff should realize that other customers don’t really want to put up with your kids. SO — if you’re in the mall and want a really good burger and you have plenty of time — then I would recommend the Flip Spot. But — if you’re in a hurry — better look for another option.

Not impressed with the food. It’s a bland burger & fries place. Probably wouldn’t go back.

The food was just okay. But maybe I should’ve ordered a burger and shake since that’s what they’re supposedly known for! I got the flip chicken sandwich and it was a little bland and nothing special. I would stick with chick fil a sandwiches for sure! The husband got a hot dog and it was good. I’ll definitely have to try their burgers and update this review!

Great burger. Awesome ranch seasoned fries. Surprised how good it was. Thought after reading previous reviews that I should give it a try. Needless to say, I’m happy that I tried it and will definitely be back.

I found myself at the Polaris food court while traveling to Columbus for work. I discovered this gem at the end as I made my rounds past all the usual suspects typically found at mall food courts. I ordered the junior BBQ bacon and wow – it was a great flipping burger(pun intended)! Fresh and hot and more than large enough to fill me up. I’ll be back to try the seasoned fries and milkshakes next time.

Above-average food court food? Yep! Christmastime is one of the few times I’ll brave the horrific options at the mall food court. Last night, the hope of an edible burger beat out the other dismal options. I ended up with a bbq bacon cheeseburger(I can’t remember what they call it), the boy had a spicy chicken sandwich. We ordered some plain fries to share. In retrospect, we should have tried some of the seasonings on the fries. The fries were really good, hot and crispy. My burger was cooked well, the bacon was crispy and there was the right amount of bbq sauce on it. Enough to get the tasty, tasty bbq flavor but not so much that everything slides off. The boy’s chicken sandwich was a hit as well. Oh, it should be noted that they have 2 sizes of burgers(regular and junior). I opted for a junior size and it was bigger than the junior burgers served by that red-haired girl. It was just enough to fill me up for a shopping battle. If you don’t have time for a sit-down place(or they’re all full)… and have landed in the food court, this is a place to check out. Certainly, it’s the best option at this food court.

I stumbled upon this food court delight at the Polaris Mall in Columbus. I was attending a conference at a local hotel and a coworker and I went in search of a lunch place nearby. We made our way up to the food court to try to find something quick and easy. We were met with your food court usuals: –Random Chinese place shoving samples at you –Pizza Place –Chicken Place –Pretzel Place –Sub Sandwich Place And then all the way at the end was The Flip Spot. Honestly, the best comparison in price and taste I can make is Smashburger. The same thin patties with similar toppings available(think onion straws, avocado, bacon etc.)and milkshakes. These are made to order so it takes a little bit longer to get your food than it would at one of the other quick service food court places but you’re met with fresh a very hot food. Good trade off in my book. This place even grills the bun! I recommend seasoning your fries, the garlic was excellent.

The best Mall food court cheeseburger I’ve ever had and a sentence I never thought I’d ever type. The excuse of «National Cheeseburger Day’ got me out to Polaris to finally try out this food court kiosk and it turned out to be a fitting holiday meal. At the counter I placed an order for their Flip Bacon & Cheese paired up with an order of their seasoned garlic fries and watched as the grillman got to work. In good time my order was brought out to me and I scuttled off to score a table in the huge seating area. The burger is truly the star here, their«regular» is two large beef patties flattened on the grill but not too thin so you get that great big savory meaty bite. A substantial bun was dressed with a large crunchy leaf of iceberg lettuce, tasty ‘mater, their house sauce, your choice of cheese and spot on perfect bacon. The garlic fries were ok, didn’t taste much garlic flavour and they were overly salted for me. Enough so I spent the rest of the day hydrating and applying lip balm to counter the after effects. They also offer chicken sammiches, milkshakes and stuff for your kids like grilled cheese and chicken strips. Overall the burgers here are enough to overcome my general hatred of malls and I’m glad to add this Flip Spot to my list of great Cbus burger joints…

Didn’t get my order right, «couldn’t» fix their mistake bc they couldn’t «touch my sandwich»(after she took my sandwich back to the back. Why she took it back there if she couldn’t touch it is beyond me) and then gave me an attitude and rolled her eyes when I asked if ahe could remake it. I told her nevermind and she gave me some d cold bacon on the side. Its not like they were even busy.

Flip Spot has really really good burgers. I was very surprised. Like a lot of other burger places, their«regular» burger is a double. Just know that going into it. Flat-top griddled, seasoned perfectly, great sauce, and a great burger-to-bun ratio(if you get the regular). The fries were pretty great too. We got ranch flavored. Probably get cajun next time.

Great burgers for a decent price. The toppings were fresh and the burger patties are smaller but very fresh. I was most impressed with the bun which was substantial enough to stand up the the toppings yet soft enough to enhance the meat and cheese. I had the ranch fries with were overall good but the amount of salt/seasoning made me leave over half of them on the tray.

As others have said, this place is a cut above other mall faire. My fries and burger were very good and the service was friendly. I had an extended wait before I could order because the customer in front of me was convinced she was at Flip Side(the place at Easton), and tried for several minutes to convince the person taking her order that she was right. An annoying conversation to listen to when you’re hungry, to be sure. Anyway, if you’re trapped in Polaris and you’re hungry, give this place a try.

A nice surprise when you’re looking for a bite at the mall. The burgers are on the smallish side, but the flexibility in toppings(either create your own, or take one of the pre-set specials) is nice. The fries are fresh made and served in impressive portions for the price(a regular took care of my wife and I just fine) and the handmade shakes? YUM. I went for a peanut butter shake and was really pleased with the pure peanut-butteryness and creamy texture. It’s a little more expensive than, say, the steam table Chinese across the way, but worth it in my opinion.

One of the best burgers I have had(definitely better than Five Guys) and THEBESTFRIES I have ever had. The Cajun fries were simply amazing. Blew Five Guys’ soggy fries away. Can’t wait to go back!

Great ranch fries! Shakes are good. The cheese burger was ok. It needed more seasoning, so I stuffed the fries in the burger. It made the perfect combination… Reminded me of the fat sandwiches from the grease trucks! You can take the girl out of Joisey, but you can’t take the Joisey out of the girl. :)

Okay. I love hamburgers aside from pizza. I just think that it is the best food ever. I have been to graffiti burger. Let’s just say I go there every freaking week. Love that place. Five guys is aiight. Grafitti has a better taste. Thurman’s is in a league of it’s own. That is a once every two month place for me. So I was eager to try out this flip spot. Burgers at the flip spot are alright. The problem that I have is that the burgers are so small. Like the bun was bigger than the burger. I got more bun than burger. Felt like that little old lady(God rest her soul) from those old skool Wendy’s commercial that asked the question of where’s the beef. If you only got a half hour for lunch. This is not the space for you. Cause their expediting sucks big time. Like there were 3 people in front of me and I was in line for 13.5 minutes(no life. I time stuff like that). So if you don’t have a five guys or graffiti burger around. Then this would be the place where you can go and get your burger fix.

We’d been wanting to try this since we’re still looking for good burgers(other than Johnnie’s which’ll stick with ya all day). This is along the lines of Five Guys or Graffiti Burger where a «regular» is 2 patties and a «half» is one. But the thickness of the burgers is slightly thicker than Steak and Shake. I got the half flip with typical toppings and cajun fries. The hubby got the Swish and Shwoom and garlic fries. I liked mine. Even with the patty being a little thinner, it was still meaty and not overpowered by the condiments. LOVED the cajun fries. They weren’t really salty like many cajun fries. The hubby loved his burger and said the cheese was nice and gooey. He liked his garlic fries too.(I liked them but Gooeyz does them better) Good prices too. Might be back if we’re in the area but wouldn’t drive out of our way like we did tonight.

I LOVED this burger. I really wish they would have better explain either in person or on the menu how it works with the patties. That is why it gets 4 stars. The normal burger is TWO patties. That is way too much food for me, had I realized, I would have gotten the smaller one. Oh well. I still ate it all and felt like death later. I got a simple burger, very nice, as I said, very big. The fries were ranch seasoned and it was awesome! For being in a mall I was very impressed with this place.

Very solid burgers. Just a small notch below the city’s best Grafitti Burgers. Fresh ground beef. The flip burger is actually two patties, so if you want to cut down on your red meat intake, go for the half flip. Haven’t tried the fries or shakes yet.
