B & B Grading & Paving

On November 10, 2009, at 4:00 PM while I was traveling eastbound on Highway 24 in Lafayette a piece of gravel flew off one of B&B’s trucks and struck my windshield. The stone caused a star-​burst break which quickly became a 8-​inch crack. The truck in question was traveling at 50 mph or less in the number 3 lane (4 lanes on that span of freeway); the speed limit is 65mph. The driver was dangerously impeding traffic and traveling for the length of the trip I witnessed (several miles from Lafayette to Concord) in the wrong lane for the speed he was driving. In addition he was towing a trailer with no mud flaps and his truck bed was not covered. He did not appear to be carrying a load, but if there was a risk of objects coming off his truck, the bed should have been covered. It is illegal in the State of California for anything except clear water and chicken feathers to come off a moving vehicle. They and their insurance company have refused to accept responsibility.
I would not patronise a business that operates at the expense of the community they reside in.
