Golden State Granite

Jack showed up at my home to estimate granite kitchen countertops and a vanity and top for a bath. I could tell immediately he was not interested in my project. He was at my home for no more than 15 minutes, didn’t measure a thing, and then sent me an email estimate within 12 hours that didn’t include several items. When I emailed him back to request further information, he only answered two of my six questions. So, I sent him an additional email asking that he respond to my other questions, and he sent me an email stating «…I don’t think we would work well together». Obviously, Jack and Golden State are too busy to be courteous and professional, and if you don’t even bring a tape measure to a job estimate, your lack of attention to detail is something I’ll not experience. Dodged a bullet with this guy!

Jack Benning and his staff at Golden State Granite are to be commended for the prompt, courteous and professional manner exemplified during the installation of the granite countertops, island top and backsplash in our kitchen.
Jack was kind enough to meet us at the granite stores and worked with us until we found just the right granite. His daughter, Mandy, was also very helpful in showing us the different edge details and explained the pros and cons of each. His crew removed six inch tile from all the surfaces without any damage to the cabinets, surrounding walls and floor, did a perfect cleanup afterward including vacuuming and the installation was smooth, fast and flawless ending with us receiving a beautiful kitchen at a very reasonable price.
We would highly recommend this outstanding company to anyone and we would use them again in the future.

Had a great experience with Jack at Golden State Granite. As others have said, Jack gives great suggestions and is always looking for his customers best interest. We redid our kitchen using Carrera marble and were very pleased with the level of detail in craftsmanship and install process went really smooth. All of his staff is extremely friendly and punctual. Also, one of the most important aspects of this process was Jack was always reachable by phone. I can’t tell you how many times it is very hard to get a hold of people in the construction industry. If I could give him 6 stars, I would.

I strongly suggest you have Jack meet with you at the granite warehouse before you purchase to get his take on the slab. He has some great pointers on whether it will work for your project

Worked with Golden State granite one time at a clients house in Pleasant Hill.
The work was custom fabrication for a mini bar and and out door BBQ that I built.
I unfortunately couldn’t source the granite at an affordable price and its also about the tools required for the job, which I don’t have.
My client called Golden State and dealt with Jack. My client praised his upfront expectations in service.
Jack did the job right and was honest about his services, look forward to having business dealings with Golden State and Jack in the future.

I was very pleased with our experience from Golden State Granite. Jack was very helpful, not only in selecting and installing the granite, but also in some advice for related projects (cabinets, tile, plumbing) that might impact our granite decision. He took his time to educate us on different materials and costs. We found a piece of granite he already had in his shop, but he offered to take us to as many stone yards as necessary to find the right slab. We experienced nothing but friendly professionalism from Jack (owner), Mandy (shop), and Adam (installer). Consults and install visits were on time to the minute, the install was quality work, and detailed clean up shows Jack and team take pride in their work. Based on my experience, I can without reservation recommend Jack and Golden State to anyone looking for stone work.
