Kaljian Construction

I know about this company from the Diamond Certified Book. It took approximately 3 days for him to return my initial call. This is pretty average apparently when you are dealing with a construction company, although I have seen a few who are way more responsive than the average. I scheduled for an estimate on Thursday.
One day before the scheduled estimate day, he called to reschedule because his schedule got too busy on Thursday. This is getting a bit annoying although since it is the first occurence, I still can tolerate it.
Robert arrived approximately on time on Saturday morning for the estimate work. He seemed to be very thorough in his inspection, and his demeanor was pretty professional. However, unfortunately this is where the pleasantries end.
He told me that I would get a written estimate by the following Friday. I gave him a reminder a couple days before that Friday about the estimate. At that time he indicated that he would be able to give me the written estimate. On Friday at noon, I left him a reminder about the written estimate again. By 2 pm, I received his email that he would not be able to give the estimate because apparently his schedule is too busy.
I think Robert has a tendency to reprioritize his customer. If you are on the lucky side, then good for you. Otherwise, you can expect to be treated like chopped liver. Proceed with doing business with him at your own risk.

We highly recommend Robert, based on our experience hiring him for two projects at our home. Here’s what we can say about him:
Responsiveness – it’s never hard to get a hold of Robert, he always answers the phone or returns calls within the hour. He’s good at explaining things without making you feel dumb. He’s a great listener and is friendly and easy to communicate with.
Quality of work – we’ve had Robert install three skylights, they’ve all been through extensive rainstorms without issue, they look great.
Cleanliness – Robert spends the extra time doing prep to protect your house and belongings and always leaves our house looking great, even during the middle of the project
Honesty – we value his opinions about the maintenance of our home, and he is realistic about balancing cost and priorities (he’ll tell when something doesn’t need to be done right away).
