As a Mom & entrepreneur raising two girls for the past 22 years I know the last thing I wanted to hear on the other end of my phone was… your daughter has head lice. Who has time for head lice? In a fast paced world of working/​busy parents that is more than a dreaded phone call, its down right traumatic! That’s why I created Once in a Licetime, safe and comfortable treatment centers that offer friendly and fun lice removal services so your kids can get back to school & well… you can get back to saving the world (at least yours any way)!

I provide all natural, non toxic and safe options with kindness, in fact, every aspect has been thought of from a kid and parent perspective. We were so relieved when we found Once in a Licetime! Shannon is a miracle worker with an abundant amount of knowledge & understanding when it comes to LICE. She was not only thorough, but had us come back to be sure it was gone for good. Her prices are reasonable and worth EVERY PENNY! Shannon, the owner, was fantastic I called her at 7:30pm in panic because I suspected that my daughter had lice. She was very helpful in guiding me what to do for that evening and night and met me and my daughters at her salon at 7am the following morning. She was very accommodating, informative and professional. I highly recommend her.

In short, this is a incompetent operation run by someone who is either grossly negligent or deliberately deceitful.
My child contracted lice a school. I had read positive reviews of Once in a Licetime and made an appointment. The owner, Shannon, assured me my child would be lice free with 2 – 3 visits. Shannon was very quick in her work. She generally finished the combing and examinations in 30 minutes or so. After three visits my child still had lice – lots of them.
On our third and final visit Shannon explained that our child had simply been «re-​infected» since she had eliminated all the lice which were a part of the contract we had paid for. There were other parents present at the time. One of them mentioned this was her 17th visit because her daughter (according to Shannon) was constantly re-​infected as well. Shannon further demanded additional compensation over the nearly $ 500 we had paid for her work. We departed and refused to pay for a service which we believe was never properly performed.
We then contacted a different service which uses an alternate (and, in our view, proper) service model. Shannon charges by the job — which means the economics of her business plan require her to spend as little time as possible locating lice and nits so she may move to the next customer. The operation which solved our problem charges by the hour. I will not mention the name as I do not want to create the impression this is an advertisement for one of Shannon’s competitors. Since this second provider charges based solely on time spent removing lice they are in no rush to stop until satisfied every louse and egg has been found. Where Shannon spent 30 minutes with our child, the other business took several hours. After two sessions (and several hundred more dollars) our child was finally lice free.
It is very distressing to learn your child has lice. I have sadly concluded Once in a Licetime is a business dedicated not to eliminating this difficult condition so much as enrichming of the proprietor. All parents would be well advised to seek services based upon a time spent approach.

My daughter getting lice was one of the most stressful experiences for both her and I. I did an at home kit as soon as I realized she had them & after going through her hair as meticulously as possible I came to one realization: I wasn’t AT ALL confident that my daughter was now lice free.
Then I remembered seeing a shop while driving down PCH in CDM that specialized in Lice Removal. Right away I got on the phone and booked an appointment for the very next morning. Shannon was great! As soon as I got off the phone she texted me the address and driving directions (it was after 10pm, btw) & confirmed the appointment an hour before, as well. I’m so glad we came in. As I had suspected, I did not remove every egg and even left a couple lice (yuck!). My daughter felt very comfortable with Shannon & most important, she is now lice free.

I have to say that this place is amazing!!! Our family has endured lice for years now. The drugstore products just stopped working and damaged our hair. We walked into Once in a licetime and it was like a breath of fresh air. Not only is it impeccably clean it’s décor is right out of A magazine. They have awesome movies and snacks for the kids and the staff is soooo sweet! After experiencing this trauma for years the staff cleared up so many false rumors about lice and made us feel so calm about the whole thing. This makes it soooo much easier to handle. The prices are soooo much more reasonable then spending soooo much money on the ineffective products in the stores. The products they sell at this salon are all organic, smell amazing and are priced so reasonably! The staff are like angels! What a mission they have to help so many people and families to be lice free !

Thank you sooo much to Ms. Shannon & Ms. Julia @ Once in a Licetime !!! I have had lice a # of time’s growing up. However, this last round was provided by my 10 year old daughter. Sick with bronchitis coming to the realization that we had Lice was too much to handle. I quickly got online & found «Once in a Licetime». Ms. Shannon picked up & was very comforting as well as quick to come up with a solution. She got us in & let me tell you… they have provided an AMAZING service!!! Recently my daughter came home with lice. I tried checking a few other places but they took forever and a day to return my call. Finally I found Once in a Lice Time on Unilocal & upon calling, I felt immediately comfortable & at ease. The first time we went, I got called into an urgent meeting & needed to send my daughter alone. I called– frantically– but the owner was beyond accommodating & I even trusted her to take my CC over the phone. When we went for her follow up, I was pleasantly surprised by the overly nice accommodations– clean, bright & relaxing. Hopefully, this is our last lice experience but if not, I’ll definitely go here again !

One word… Amazing! For years my family has been immune to lice… so I thought. Then, it finally happened :-(And when you have thick long hair, it’s NOT so much fun even thinking about how you are going to inspect every inch. Ugh!!! I debated doing the «at home route», no, not with chemicals, but with all natural products. But even the natural products can burn your scalp and cannot be a good experience, with possible days of treating and hoping the little pests are gone. I would say Happy Hunting, but I wouldn’t count on it…
Thanks to my friend, I found Shannon at Once in a Licetime. She was able to give me a same day appointment, and I left feeling relaxed AND with an awesome hair style to boot. She has two locations (Lake Forest & Corona del Mar). She also does home visits, and instructs you on preventative measures.
One thing I realized is that our community does not proactively educate parents and children on lice, until there has been an infestation. Good news ~ I asked Shannon if she is able to visit my child’s local school and daycare to educate on the prevention and treatment of lice — of course she said YES!!! She also has some awesome products in her stores or online at Amazon.

The thought of having animals crawling on your body is thoroughly disgusting and traumatic. Shannon is like the Fairy Godmother of Lice-​Free Living! Not only does she put you at ease, she treats her customers like friends.
My daughter had a horrible case of lice from school and we found Shannon online. She went ghostbusters on the demons in her hair and was lice-​free in an hour.
In addition to being a pro at her job, she knows children well and was prepared to entertain the kids and detain the pests on her head.
