RHLC has been providing Hippotherapy («treatment with the help of the horse») for children and adults with physical and emotional challenges since 1998. In a unique alternative to the clinical setting, RHLC offers a nurturing environment which promotes healing for our patients and their families.
History
Established in 1998.
Renaissance Healing and Learning Center provides a combo of physical therapy with help of the horse which is called hippo therapy. Hippotherapy has been a recognized form or rehabilitation in Europe for many years. The horse’s movement is reciprocal and rhythmical. the warmth of the horse also promotes relaxation of tight muscles and spasticity. The stride of the horse is similar to the human stride when walking. Muscles are stimulated as if the person were walking. Other benefits include strengthening, flexibility and core stabilization.
