When I was just 18 years old, I started my dream of owing a plumbing business with just a van and some tools. Today I am proud to say it has expanded and still remains business owned! My family has grown and my partner and CFO is my wife along with my little ones. I take pride in A-​1 Rooter & Plumbing, Inc. because it represents who we are.

Great service! I had an emergency because the main drain was clogged and water was backing up and began flooding the downstairs bathroom… I tried using a rented 100ft snake from Home Depot but couldn’t reach the clog area. I called A-​1 and Max came over within an hour (amazingly fast)! He spent about an hour using his 150ft snake and cleared everything out! He also came over the next morning to fix a nuisance leak… Don’t take his service for granted — bookmark his number on your phone!

Today was the first time in a year I didn’t wait by my washing machine during the drain cycle. I actually forgot to listen to it draining. Three times this year between January and September I called a local plumber to fix the back-​up in my drain. Three times it was fixed but the fix didn’t last longer than 4 months. That is why I waited to write my critique of Max and A-​1 Rooter and Plumbing. I wanted to know that the fix actually lasted.
My drain system usually waits for a weekend, holiday or both to back up. So when it backed up on a Saturday in September, I called the local plumber. Fortunately, he was unavailable. Why, fortunately? Because I could not wait for the local plumber and started looking through Unilocal for another plumber and found Max. He was able to come out immediately and I told him what the other plumber did. I was taken aback when he did something different. He looked around the properity, located the sewer drain, opened it up and found about two feet of tree roots from a tree that no longer existed.
I am so happy. The drain is fixed and it cost less than even one visit from the former plumber.

This is the third time I have used Max for fixing my problems with plumbing. He is fast and efficient and seems to be able to handle any problem, and if not, he tells you that he can’t…A lot of companies just come in and charge you and then can’t fix the problem… Not Max… Give him a call… he is a local guy and we need to support our local people… I am very pleased with his work…

So max is amazing and you should hire him right now. Was trying to install my new sink and had an issue with the shut off valve. Called him up, he came over in 10 minutes. Fixed the valves. Hooked up the sink. Looked at the shower. Left 30 minutes after and everything fixed. Called him after hours too and he waived his after hour rate cuz he wanted to be a nice guy. 95 bucks for the whole job, man is a life saver. You don’t get him and you live in his area, you are missing out!

Max cleared up my clog real fast. He was reasonably priced and very friendly. One thing I wish he did was call to notify me that he was running late, as I had to take of some time from work. I would definitely call him again if I get another clog

I was in a real pinch and Max and A-​1 were able to help in less than 24 hours!
Not only did Max take the time to inspect the issue with our one problem toilet, he checked the others in the house as well. Since we had just moved in he wanted to make sure all were up to standard.
He was thorough yet quick and the price was extremely reasonable!

max meticulously looked at all the details to help us bring our fireplace gas valve out of the firebox. he ended up giving us several options, explaining each, and recommended a much smaller job than we thought we needed. he’s honest, thorough, and gets it done!

Max was friendly, informative and went above and beyond expectations. I had an emergency and needed a clog undone on Sunday. He responded promptly, and although wasn’t able to come in that evening– was there first thing in the morning and cleared not just the clog but cleared layers of roots from our pipes. Had a sewer backup at one of my rentals in Santa Monica. Cold dark and rainy night. Not only did Max show up on time, he tried to no avail for 3 hours in less than optimum conditions to snake the sewer line. Did I mention he was under the house!!! Had to return next day as my tenants baby had to go to sleep. Showed up first thing Saturday morning and in less than one hour discovered a fitting that was installed by a previous plumber incorrectly positioned.
Not only is he concerned, caring, knowledgable and personable, the price was fair if not cheaper than most. I enjoyed meeting and talking with him and feel fortunate to know I have a new «go to guy» when plumbing problems arise. I have him on speed dial. You would be wise to do the same.

He was able to get to the house quickly, and when he arrived he worked tirelessly to fix it, even though it was a challenging job due to the location of the problem. A few days ago a neighbor posted about this plumber on the next-​door neighborhood app. today my kitchen sink backed up as it does about once a year so I gave this guy a call, he showed up on time/​same day and did a great job. Max is the best plumber I’ve used in 17 years of owning my home. He was on time, honest, extremely efficient, and better priced than any other phone estimate. We had a major backup due to roots that had grown into our main sewer drainage line and choked 75% of the line’s effectiveness. Max assessed the situation, rooted out the line and told me what bushes/​landscaping to remove to alleviate the problem permanently. He then returned a week later once the bushes were removed to replace the clay drainage line and add a proper clean-​out to the system. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. I would recommend him in an instant. He’s bound to become a big help and familiar face around my neighborhood.

My bathroom was flooded with an inch of water. Max replaced both hot and cold angle stops in my bathroom with higher quality ones– nice. He is friendly, honest and fair. He did not make a mess and gave me some pointers on drying out the blistered wall from the water leak. I told him I have anxiety about future water leaks while I’m away for long hours at work and he advised me to simply turn off the main water supply to the house… and thought to myself why didn’t I think of that? I would recommend him.

I’ve had Max out for big jobs and small ones. From fixing faucets to installing a tankless water heater, rerouting pipes under the house, and running a new gas line to my pool heater. I keep having him back because his work is solid and I trust him. The gas line turned out to be a bigger job than expected, but he didn’t alter his estimate and he stayed well past 5 to get the job done in time. I’ve been ripped off by other contractors, so having a plumber I can trust makes owning a home that much easier.
