Specialties
Fill all your senses at Ford’s Filling Station — LA’s first and finest Gastropub — where the atmosphere is relaxed yet often bustling.
Comfortable seating areas with warm walnut surfaces and Asian rugs create a charming intimacy amidst an informal setting. The patios are intimate, for private parties, and offer a soothing contrast to our energetic main room, which features wood-beamed ceilings, brick, polished concrete floors and an open kitchen. Machine-age lamps accent the wooden bar while large celestial chandeliers create a ceiling of soft light.
Our dedication to craft is evident in the American Regional Menu, which is rustic, simple and innovative, yet familiar. The seasonal menu emphasizes flavor in exciting, uncomplicated combinations and in keeping with Chef Ford’s earthy palate.
History
Established in 2006.
In 2006, Ford’s Filling Station opened their doors in Culver City, aiming for a similar combination of a comfortable pub-like attitude that serves exciting, seasonal food. We came with the intention of creating a concept for the people of the community. Ford’s Filling Station is designed to be casual, open and familiar, the room is full of artifacts from Chef Ben’s life, his books are on the shelves, and his music plays on the stereo. It’s a soulful space, a place of substance to come and revive the senses and refuel the mind, body and sprit. The «Filling Station» metaphor and our slogan «Fuel No Gas» are representative of a place to come to fill up on all the good things in life.
Meet the Business Owner
Benjamin F.
Business Owner
Acclaimed chef and restaurateur Ben Ford is one of Southern California’s brightest culinary stars, having earned his kitchen stripes at such distinguished Los Angeles-area institutions as The Farm of Beverly Hills, Opus, and Campanile. Having opened, and later closed, the acclaimed Chadwick in Beverly Hills, where Ford dazzled the culinary world with his own style of California-Mediterranean cuisine, he wanted to return to his basic sense of craft. Ford’s Filling Station, a regional American gastropub, represents this newest phase of his career. As Executive Chef and Proprietor at Ford’s Filling Station in Culver City, he utilizes the finest local ingredients to prove that truly good food doesn’t have to be overly complicated.
