Fun little gallery right next to Tender Greens along«restaurant row» in Culver City. Sometimes the line to Tender Greens can obscure the entrance to the gallery, so just be on the lookout for the shiny chrome accents on the front of the gallery windows and doors. Currently, they have a show called«Print Isn’t Dead.» They actually opened tonight(well, July 17th), and it was an amusing, tongue-in-cheek show of a very eclectic group of artists. I saw many familiar names and styles of art and lots of new ones too. There’s something for everyone, from celebrity depictions to über-cute creations and on. The space is bigger than it looks, but still fairly intimate, with nooks and crannies where you’ll find even more art pieces displayed. My friends and I didn’t have a lot of time, so I didn’t get to see the entire show or spend as much time as I’d like to with some of the pieces. But, the show runs till August 10th, and I hope to be back. Be on the lookout, especially since it’s summertime, for special events in the Downtown Culver City area too, so that you can plan out your visit, particularly if you’re not normally in this area. Tonight, there was a scavenger hunt event called«All American Happy Hour» to introduce people to the area’s offerings by having them visit each store on a «passport» and enter to win a raffle package. I appreciate witty designs and art that’s accessible. WWA seems like a great space that embraces that aspect of art, and I look forward to its future shows.

Big fan of this gallery. I was here this past weekend for their«I Believe in Unicorns, too» exhibit and I loved the layout and openness of the space. Some galleries, you’re surrounded by amazing art– but it’s hard to see it because you’re jam packed like sardines. I felt like there was plenty of room to walk, mingle and hang out without being on top of each other. Besides the featured gallery, the venue hosts a variety of other artists’ pieces in the back and side areas. Once we were done taking in all of the unicorn pieces, we got to enjoy the rest of what the place had to offer. Now, there aren’t a TON of other pieces, but there are little sections dedicated to smaller shows with a variety of different themes. Based on some of the advertisements for upcoming shows– it looks like they host a good mix of themes while supporting smaller artists in the process. Being opening night, the staff really had their stuff together. It seemed like a lot of people were purchasing prints, but it was very organized and everything was quick. They set up an awesome photo area with a man dressed in a unicorn for patrons to take photos with and offered some complimentary wines for you to sip on while perusing. I loved this area of Culver City, too. I’ve never been down here, but liked there were a ton of restaurants and bars in the area to go before/after. Parking is a cinch– just park on the street nearby(just watch the signs) as most of the street parking is free after 8PM. If you’re unlucky– they do have lots all over for a small fee. I will be back!

We had a lot of fun at this art gallery. First the art show we saw«Creepy Cute» was so unique, adorable, and whimsical. It was fun to walk around and look at all of the interesting art work. The staff at WWA Gallery were very friendly and nice. They served wine and beer and an assortment of snacks. There was lots of room to walk around. And standing tables to enjoy my wine and chat with friends. A very nice way to get some artistic culture while in Culver City. WWA Gallery is very unique and very welcoming and friendly to the public. It was a very enjoyable evening.

This gallery is very cool. They handle consignments for collectors and sellers. Everything from Dr. Seuss, Disney, Peanuts, etc. They also have fantastic shows featuring some of the best new emerging artists in the art movement known as Lowbrow or New Pop Art. The opening parties are a blast and the people who run the gallery are very nice and easy to talk to about the artists and we’ve bought a number of pieces from them.

This cute new art gallery(WWA) recently opened up right next to Tender Grens in Culver City. Apparently they used to sell Monkey Art, but it has been permanently sold out. Their current installation includes some pieces by Todd, i.e. Little Miss Bitch Fit, Little Miss Boob Job, Barbie Is A Slut, etc. It’s a pity each piece is $ 3,000+ but hey, there’s art for ya. Every piece in the gallery is for sale, there are some pretty diverse collections, and they also rent out the space for parties. It’s a nice way to spend a half hour or so before a movie or while waiting in line for your Tender Greens special.
