Great Service! I’m in the Los Gatos Hills was with Verizon DSL and it was very slow. Ridge Wireless is fast and reliable. Mike Lyon is one of the most pleasant radio /​internet people I have met. The installation only took about an hour. Five Stars+

We highly recommend Mike Lyon and Ridge Wireless service. We live in the Los Gatos mountains with few internet service options. We were on another wireless service and were very disappointed and frustrated with the frequent connection drops, outages and inconsistent internet speeds. Fortunately, some of our neighbors recommended that we try Ridge Wireless. We couldn’t be happier with his service. The internet uptime and speed is great now, we have the 5mbps service. Mike Lyon is one of the most prompt and pleasant IT people we have met. For awhile we were having major issues in streaming Downton Abby, my wife’s favorite show. Serious right! We emailed Mike and he was right on it. It took a few attempts to resolve the issue but Mike was always pleasant, patient and responsive. He came out and replaced our dish and we have had peace in the family since.

I recently came from living off grid at the tip of Baja Mexico, about an hour east of Cabo, on the east cape. It’s all solar and batteries, but you can get internet with a dish on your roof, pointed to a nearby mountain top. How cool is that? I’m out in the dessert, watching Netflix and HBO NOW with nary a timeout for buffering.
I came back here to the Bay Area and was soon presented an opportunity to look over a property on the east hills of San Jose. It’s off grid, but because I have experience now, I took up the challenge and one of the first things I did was research radio internet providers… something that just a year ago I was completely unaware of.
Found Ridge Wireless and a few others, but because of the stellar Unilocal reviews, I went with them. They did a site survey the next day, and while I hope they are eventually able to do the install sooner than the frustrating amount of time I had to wait, it was worth the wait.
This is the best Internet service I’ve ever had, and that includes fiber-​optic in a downtown San Jose loft some years back. Comcast/​Xfinity? Frauds, at least in an urban environment. I have a vacation home up in Arnold, CA, and the Comcast screams up there and is wholly reliable. Less density.
So, four days now on Ridge with just KICK-​ASS INTERNET. Such a joy. I’m on the 2.5 mbps synchronous plan for $ 50 per month and literally have no idea how I could be happier.

As good as internet gets, and I should know, because I need it to support my family.
My job title is Enterprise IPTV Network Architect — so believe me when I tell you I have an educated opinion. I’ve been a Ridge Wireless customer for a year now, and have absolutely, never complained. I endured Comcast while I lived in San Carlos, Verizon in Los Gatos… and now, having bought a home and setting up shop I’ve had the opportunity to shop Internet Providers. I searched for over a year and finally found the absolute best, without question. Moreover, the support is amazing, and the people are just good people — the folks we want to succeed in Los Gatos — as opposed to Comcast, or Verizon/AT&T, the latter of which we have no idea what the plan is given the AT&T merger with DirecTV; the odd acquisition by AT&T then and quick punt to Frontier. It’s a shell game right now, and I certainly don’t want to be a part of it.
Also, please note that the major providers offer 7-​zillion Mbps download, but many times a mere 512 Kb upload — that’s the reason your Skype, Facetime, etc. doesn’t work the way you expect or desire. The upload speed is how fast your own personal (not the remote party) video is delivered.
Happily, It gets gorgeous on Ridge, because they provide symmetrical download and upload. You can download at 10Mbps, and upload at 10Mbps. Other plans are available, but this one fit our family, including my need to *upload* huge media files for work cost effectively.

Mike at Ridge has been simply excellent. From initial install to customer support and follow-​up Ridge had been right on. Living near Lexington Reservoir has it’s advantages and disadvantages including any viable internet resource. That’s where these guys come in and save the day.

Mike, and Ridge Wireless, are simply awesome. We’ve had Mike provide internet service for quite some time now, and never had a problem. On very rare occasions when there is an issue, Mike is as fast as lightning.

have been using the service for a couple of years now, many times wanted to write a good review but kept putting it off… all good things others said about Ridge wireless are true, unlike some of the others here, I had other options (cable, DSL, etc.) and was fed up with the poor services from the big corporations and decided to switch, what a difference! Mike usually answers emails right away, even on weekends and evenings. No more service ticket number nonsense.

Ridge Wireless continues to be great. Another WISP put up some interfering infrastructure at one of the mountain tops and Mike was on top of coming up with a way to get back high performance.

We live next to foothill park and have been very frustrate to find good and reasonable priced wifi service until Mike come along. Mike is not only give best service possible he also very very attentive. He really makes his customer feel FIRST! We are so happy to know him and appreciate his expertise. Thank you Mike. We would highly recommend his service to everyone!!!

Live in East San Jose hills (Mt. Hamilton) — great ping times (6 – 15 msec to Layer
). Download 25−40mbit, Upload 20−30mbit — all for a great price. Mike is a very knowledgeable guy, and very customer focused.

We live in the Los Gatos Mountains and had been using Verizon — and before that Surfnet — we recently switched to Ridge Wireless and couldn’t be happier. Our speed has increased 10 times!

We’ve been using Ridge Wireless for about 6 years now and it’s great. Our access is very high speed and Mike Lyon, the owner, is always available to make changes or to fix problems (that rarely occur anyway). Our businesses rely on ²⁴⁄₇ Internet access. Other companies could not always provide that, but Ridge Wireless does.

Hiring Ridge Wireless for my internet needs was one of my best business decisions ever. They do what they say they are going to do and do it when they say they will — all for the price quoted.
They have upgraded equipment at no cost to me. My internet is blazing fast and if I ever have a question, it takes only one phone call. No phone tree, no delays.
Mike Lyon even came out to fix a DirecTV issue that was prohibiting my ability to get OnDemand programming — and did not charge me a dime!
I have already recommended them to many of my hillside neighbors.
