Five people in the restaurant yet we had poor and unfriendly service. Prices were elevated as well!

Excellent venue for wine, music and just hanging out! They know their wines and carry them in all price ranges. The staff is phenomenal and really make you feel welcome. One of the many wonderful things about this place is that you can order food from an array of area restaurants and have your order delivered to the Wine Therapist. Great and varied selection of music performances at the Wine Therapist.

The Wine Therapist has an outstanding selection of wines that are hand picked by Phillip, the owner. We have all of our special events here due to the live music, warm hospitality and fabulous wine!

Wine Therapist moved to a new location about a year ago. And if you blink, you’ll miss it. There is no major signage, just a small neon sign that says WINE. I guess that’s all you need these days in Lakewood, but you won’t hear any complaints from me. Unlike many other wine bars that are similar to sitting in someone’s living room or patio. Wine Therapists has a art studio feel to it. The space is two levels. The upstairs offers more privacy and some really comfy chairs. Downstairs has the usual bar space and it also has the community style table & bench seating. You’ll also notice plenty of local art on display on the wall, which is fairly cool. If you’re like most wine drinkers, you will want something to snack on. Wine Therapist doesn’t have food, but you can order from the Italian restaurant next door and they will deliver right to your table. If the weather is nice or your tolerant of being outside in Texas, you can sit at one of the sidewalk tables. Service is very consistent on each visit. And there’s a great variety of wines to choose from. You will find plenty of friendly locals. Don’t hesitate to make this a regular stop on your way home.

Lo-Fi wine bar in Lakewood. A nice neighborhood spot with a «Cheers”-like atmosphere. Knowledgeable staff will guide you to a good glass. The owner/operator is clearly an expert.

I have visited Wine Therapist on a few different occasions and I’m suitably impressed with the venue to give it a solid recommendation. My first visit to Wine Therapist was on a Sunday afternoon. There was a tasting in progress and I was able to sample several excellent wines. The price for the event was reasonable given the quality of wines and quantity provided. When I asked about a specific varietal, the owner opened a bottle and gave me a glass, gratis. It was a separate vineyard that was not featured in the tasting, so this was really going above and beyond. The rest of the tasting was delightful and I happily made a purchase. On my other visits, I have also enjoyed myself. However, the owner has not been present and the level of service was such that I cannot give Wine Therapist a full five-star rating. I’ve had spotty luck with recommendations and service from the non-owner staff. It’s not bad service, but it hasn’t been quite as helpful or educational as I would like. This is especially important for a venue like Wine Therapist where much of the value is in the experience of learning about the wines for sale. I will happily go back, but I wish the staff was a bit more consistent when the owner is not present.

The hubs and I recently visited the new location — which is directly across the street from the old location in the little strip center. We went on a Monday night and it was cozy, the wine was good and the entire layout makes much more sense for a neighborhood wine place. I will always come here for a nice bottle of wine with a friend. You always know what you’re going to get. And it’s always a very relaxing time. The foodie in my deserately wants them to have a cheese plate — like-a-fat-kid-wants-chocolate-cake that’s how much I want them to have an an amazing spanish cheese plate. Instead they have menus so you can grab a slice from a(good!) local pizza joint. I just want cheese. My fat kid wants cheese.

I bought the Groupon for the Wine Tasting, and was very impressed with The Wine Therapist. I tasted Australian wines, which is a wine region I had no knowledge in. I will come back to the nights when they have theme tasting, and musical groups. Parking can be a pain, but the wine is fantastic.

Oh my Gretchen how I’ve missed you and the wine! Marriage has slowed me down quite a bit but I will be sure to come back and see you again very soon! I love the new cozy space The Wine Therapist has relocated to as times have changed. Great wine and the prices are always in line along with the standard WINETHERAPIST pour! Also I love the two separate and intimate upstairs rooms! Perfect for wine love birds to get away from the crowd.
