Dan’s Cab

I emailed Dan’s Cab about a week before my flight to make a reservation for an airport pick-​up. When I arrived at SMF on a late flight, there was a long delay getting to the gate. My driver, Arthur, was very understanding and patiently waited until 12:30 am, when I was finally able to get off the plane. He did not charge anything extra for the waiting time. I learned from other people on the flight that their drivers either left or begrudgingly agreed to wait (with much complaining). I would highly recommend this service.

Dan’s Cab company is excellent. The rates are reasonable and they are very reliable. We had an early flight out of SFO and Dan’s Cab was at our home in Davis, as arranged at 2:45am. On the trip I had lost my phone so couldn’t confirm the SFO pick up from our return flight, but Dan’s Cab met us on time as arranged with no problem. Both drivers (Sean and Kevin) were very friendly, handled our many bags, and drove safely. I highly recommend this company.

We also had a great experience with Dan’s Cab. We had an early flight out of SMF. They confirmed our reservation and stuck to the quoted price (which was very reasonable). Our driver, Caleb was punctual and pleasant– even at 3:30 AM!

We had a great experience using Dan’s cab for transporting our group of five to Sacramento. They arrived on time to pick us up in Davis and then again at our pick up time in Sacramento. Über/Lyft’s prices fluctuate at peak times — Dan’s cab could give us a reliable/​reasonable price and guaranteed reservation. I had accidentally dropped some things from my purse and Dan’s cab not only found the items, but delivered them to my house the next day.

I could not drive to the hospital to pick up a friend. I called Dan’s Cab and the driver went to the ER, picked up my friend, took her home, waited until she was up the stairs and inside and then called me for payment. A confusing arrangement. I thought I’d have to pay in advance or at least give a credit card number. Nope, the drives only request? Answer the phone! The best taxi service ever. Kind driver, prompt service, and very flexible. 20 gold stars. If ever I need a ride this will be my first choice.

I come to Davis frequently on business, and Dan’s Cab never fails to be reliable and friendly. I have yet to meet the illusive Dan himself, but he runs a fine organization. Shout out to Arthur who dropped me off at SMF and just asked for a good Unilocal review when I forgot to add a gratuity on the Square app thingee. This one’s for you, Arthur!

Great service used it multiple times, easy to book and staff is very nice. I’ve had several drivers and one recently (Kevin) stopped at Taco bell coming back from the airport with me because I mentioned I was hungry and it didn’t cost me any extra fare. Doesn’t get any better than that

Forget Lyft, Über, or any other taxi service in Davis, Dans Cab is the only cab I am call when I go out! Their service is unmatched, taxi rate is fair, and the employees are very, very friendly. I’ve used their service many times over the years and they have never been anything less than superb. I would rate their taxi service 6 stars if I could!
P. S. Don’t forget to ask for their stamp card! Every 8^th ride is free!

The drivers are fantastic!
One amazing driver helped me this past weekend, very patiently helping me try and bring a girl home from downtown that couldn’t express to either of us where she lived.
He drove around with us to multiple places, was extremely kind to her in her emotional state, and helped me handle and solve the situation.
He went above and beyond and if he is a reflection of this company, they are 100% deserving of 5 stars!

Dan’s cab is a great service; I use them all the time to get to and from Amtrak when I have too much luggage to bike. They are always prompt, friendly, and reasonably priced. They have always been able to pick me up and get me to my train on time, whether I call at the last minute or ahead of time.
AND I just found out from Tim, yet another friendly Dan’s Cab driver who just gave me a lift home, that they offer a $ 38 flat rate for all airport rides, no matter how many people you have in your party or how much luggage you’re carrying. If you all fit, you still just pay one $ 38 rate, and you don’t share the ride with any other parties. How awesome is that?
Yay Dan’s Cab!

We have used Dan’s Cab a number of times now for our daughter to/​from airport and for ourselves when we visit her in college. They are very prompt, friendly and reliable. We are pleased with their service and will definitely continue to use them for future.

Dan’s cab is a great service, whether you need a ride home from Sophias at 2 am or need to get to SMF or SFO at 6am. I only use Dan’s cab because it’s always reliable, the drivers are friendly, you can pay cash or card, and they only use vans so there’s always space for a whole crew. I’m always impressed by Dan’s ability to quote a wait time, and make it if not beat it every time.

Got a ride home with Dan last night and was really impressed.
I had been in a different cab and the guy told me that he couldn’t take my card and would have to take me to an ATM for me to get cash. I knew he could take card, but he preferred cash so I said I didn’t want to do that. The guy pulled over and insisted that I get out. He didn’t seem to care that I was alone, it was 2 AM, and he had taken me a few blocks away from my group of friends.
Luckily, I called Dan’s cab and he picked me almost instantly, He was friendly, respectful, and seemed to genuinely care about giving customers a safe ride home.
Dan ended up lowering the fare for my ride and refused to let me tip him.
Customer service like that is rare. I will only be using Dan’s cab from now on.

Before my orientation date as an upcoming freshman at UC Davis, my train was running late — 2 hours late. I was due to arrive at Downtown Davis at 1am in the morning! As an 18 year-​old traveling alone, you’d know how scary it felt to be alone in the dead of the night.
I initially called Dan to pick me up at the designated time but my train ran late and Dan told me to call when I arrived. Nervous and terrified of the cold Davis night, I quickly dialed his phone number from this Unilocal page to request a cab. Dan let me know that they’ll have a cab for me as quickly as possible.
It was barely 5 minutes before a van pulled up at the train station! My driver was a bright-​faced young man who was honestly really cute and James Franco-​esque. I let him know about my plans to attend UC Davis and that I needed to be dropped off at one of the dorms in the university.
Now, James Franco (I never got his name!) was new to Davis, so finding the dorms at UC Davis was an adventure for both of us. We used my iPhone’s google maps and a map provided by the university. We got a little lost on the way, but he was kind enough to not charge me for it because let’s face it, we’re both new to the place. What a great guy! My trip ended up being only 6 $ but i gave him a 10 $ for being an amazing human bean.
We talked in the cab and it was an absolutely pleasant experience. My cab driver wasn’t just a driver, he was a real kid! It felt like having a friend carpool you around and I felt very safe in the cab at 1am in the morning.
I love you Dan, whoever you are with your taxi cab service, You’re the only taxicab service I’m gonna trust when I start attending school in the fall!

Dan’s Cab is the best. I’ve tried almost all of the cab companies in Davis, and Dan’s is definitely the friendliest and most reliable.
I dropped my cell phone in the cab and called Dan over half an hour later asking for them to check and see if it was there. Not only did they actually check for it and find it, the cab driver, Alexa, went out of her way and drove back and dropped it off to me!
It’s that personal service and care that they have for their customers that makes this cab company fantastic and a go-​to for me and all of my friends.

Dan is the nicest cab driver in Davis! He was so incredibly nice to us on our friend’s 21^st birthday and we refuse to use any other cab service in Davis! If you want a smooth cab ride from the friendliest guy around, call Dan!

Awesome awesome awesome. Though short, I thoroughly enjoyed the cab ride I had. Definitely never using a different cab service in Davis. Nicest cab driver I’ve experienced. =)
