Wow. 2 years after installation of my crawl space encapsulation I heard a water alarm from under the house. Looked in the sump and it was full– the pump hadn’t activated due to its float being submerged. Texted Ernesto at 10:00pm (sorry!) and he had guys out the next morning taking a look, and it turns out the pump went bad so he replaced it with a brand new one at no charge.
You just don’t see customer service like this these days. That’s why I’ll keep recommending Ernesto to everyone!

If I could give 10 stars I would ! Ernesto is the ultimate professional. When you do the walk around with him his overall construction knowledge comes screaming through! He is knowledgable, thorough and even gave some pointers on other house related items to address down the road. This is tough work and I fully appreciated how tough it really is when we did the final «crawl» through. The encapsulation was done professionally and efficiently. The musty smell is gone and all of us could almost instantly see improvement in our allergies. He installed 2 sump pumps and fully encapsulated our entire crawl space. For this type of work it’s clear to me you get what you pay for and I highly recommend E Mora construction!

We just had Ernesto come in and take care of the crawl space under our split level San Ramon home. We had rats and water issues. We removed the black plastic that was under the house by ourselves (never do that again). It was disgusting and the smell never left.
Ernesto installed a sump pump and barrier. The smell is gone. The crawl space is dry and clean. You don’t realize how important this is until you have issues. You also don’t realize how HUGE this job is until you start doing it yourself.
I cannot say enough about Ernesto. His workmanship, his follow-​through, the professionalism of his crew — just amazing. Get on his schedule, he is worth the wait. I had the attic done by someone else (before I found Ernesto) and I am still fixing it…

Our house has vapor barrier and sump pump installed by Ernesto’s team over 2 years ago. We still have them perform the pump check up annually.
Recently the rain season started. A few days ago the alarm started to beep while raining. I called Ernesto. He told me a few possibilities. After changing the alarm battery the alarm stopped beeping. For peace of mind, I still requested to have them come in to check. Ernesto came in right on time. He did a thorough check making sure everything is still working good.
I very much appreciate Ernesto being very helpful. Their aftersales support is amazing.

We just had E Mora construction completed sump pump clean up service. They checked everything: clean up basin, clean up sum pump intake, checked the valve, battery and discharge line for leaks. They find several spots that didn’t do very well from last work. So they come the following week to fixed the work for free. I am very impressed by this company’s professional service. I feel we are in good hand not only for install the sump pump but also continue follow up service. They truly set up a good standard for all contractors. Highly recommended this company!!!

Ernesto and his crew did a great job on our sump pump and crawl space. I got a quote from him 2 years ago for the full job. We then found out that we had to leave the country on a work assignment for 2 years. So, we had him only do the sump pump, which was a great experience. For probably half the cost of what others would charge for a sump pump, Ernesto and his crew dug drainage trenches, installed the pump, and ran a really thorough outlet line. They did way more work than I expected.
2 years later, we called Ernesto back to finish the crawl space encapsulation. He honored the original quote (minus the cost of the already installed sump pump) and completed the job really well. He even made some upgrades to our older back-​up sump pump and installed new moisture alarms.
Ernesto and his crew go above and beyond. Great to work with, and they really take pride in their work. I wish I could find more contractors like Ernesto. Thanks, Unilocal,for helping me find him.

Ernesto and his crew were fantastic to work with and I’m completely satisfied with the end result, having trenched, installed a sump pump, and installed our moisture barrier in our very tight crawl space. Having worked with several contractors for several different projects now, I realize how rare it is to find someone who is as responsive as Ernesto. He was early to every visit and immediately responsive by email and text. I found him to be super friendly, helpful even beyond the scope of work he was doing, and his crew was lightning fast in getting our work done. Bring it on, El Nino. We’re ready.

On the one hand, Mr. Mora is getting excellent reviews from seemingly happy customers on Unilocal – we all trust our fellow Unilocal reviewers, don’t we? :)
On the other hand:
1) When I met with Mr. Mora a couple of years ago to give me a quote, he tried to upsell me on a completely unnecessary sump pump.
2) Something didn’t ring right with me. Perhaps it was his aggressive pitch and encouragement to provide a Unilocal review.
3) Since you will be spending serious moola, I can encourage you to do is do your homework (i.e., don’t rely on 100% Unilocal) and be smart about your options. I suggest you look up his contractor’s license on the
website and come to your own conclusions.

Well, let me just say, that I read the content guidelines and here is the additional detail for you Myrtle:
I met with Mr. Ernesto Mora of E Mora Construction at 1pm on Wednesday April 2013. Mr. Mora was congenial and took the time to crawl under my house to evaluate the need for a moisture barrier. He wrote up an assessment and explained and showed me how there was substantial potential of water intrusion under my house and pointed to a «water stain» in the northwest corner of the house – indicating substantial flooding in heavy rainfall – and strongly recommended a sump pump, digging 2 trenches to channel water and putting a mositure barrier on top. He wrote up a quote, which appeared to be competitive, but with the sump pump, it ended up being the most expensive of the three estimates I received. What was interesting to me was the two quotes I received from the two other providers didn’t include sump pumps. I was sure to ask the other two contractors about the «water stain». They said that there is no way that that is a water stain and I absolutely don’t need a sump pump.
I have to say that the other two contractors were 100% correct. There were bouts of substantial rainfall over the past 2 years, and although it gets damp under the house, there is absolutely no flooding.
This led me to wonder about Mr. Mora’s very high reviews on Unilocal.I remember that during his pitch he strongly encouraged me to give him a 5-​star Unilocal review to help him with his business. I checked Mr. Mora out on the Better Business Bureau and there are no complaints. I also looked up Mr. Mora’s contractor’s license and was very surpised he received a criminal conviction. This is the main reason for my 1 start review. I feel very uncomfortable hiring someone who has a criminal conviction for workplace theft, working at my house.
Myrtle, this is all factual and is not meant to denigrate Mr. Mora. Clearly from the reviews he is providing satisfactory work. I will be very surprised if you find that this falls outside your content guidelines. My review hear is far more detailed and specific than 95% of your other reviews for E Mora. I think if you go ahead and censor this review, it will be a clear indication of Unilocal’s partiality to paid advertisers.

7÷2÷15 — With all the wonderful reviews I have decided to go with Ernesto to do the crawlspace of my fourplex in Castro Valley and he will begin the job on July 27. I will have him take before and after pictures and will post them and leave a review of how it went. I have already referred him to two of mind friends… :0)

What a great experience! We had problems with water intrusion in our crawl space, which caused moisture and mold problems all over the first floor.
Ernesto, the business owner, was a pro, prompt and responsive. He showed up on time, inspected and proposed a solution. He is clearly very knowledgeable, and as importantly, honest and trustworthy. He gave us the least expensive solution to correct the problem. His team were also very professional and quick.
High recommend this business!

These guys did a great job. They’re not cheap but then neither is anybody else in the CA Bay Area who does this kind of under-​the-​house dirty specialty work.
We found out that we were having damp & water under the house (after years of no problems). Ernesto inspected and recommended a new sump pump (old one was long ago broken which was a big part of the problem), plus a gravel-​fill T-​shaped drainage trench to get any water back over towards the sump pump intake, plastic lining over the soil, and two water alarms to alert us when there was water on top of the plastic.
His team did the work in two days. Cost was ~$ 9200 which was a little more than expected, but again it’s tough to get anybody to do this kind of grubby job and to do it with quality, and if it’s done correctly, it’s a one-​time project. After installation, Ernesto came back out and crawled around everywhere taking photos and videos to show the result. The work does come with a multi year warranty.
Our regular contractor who’s been working under the house on some plumbing and electrical (he was the one who alerted us to the drainage problem but said he had no interest in doing the work to fix it) said it was the best, highest quality drainage mitigation job he’d ever seen (and he’s been in the business for decades).

Ernesto came out to cover the ground under my modular home with 20 mil plastic. He did the original estimate himself.
His estimate was for a few options so I chose the one that made the most sense and fit my budget. The installation took longer than they thought only because the work was more challenging under older modular homes like mine. Lots of individual piers needed to be sealed, not to mention working in tiny spaces filled with axles. They honored the original price and even did extra work in the cleanup process, like lifting the trailer tow bars out of the muck and hanging them from the frame out of their way.
Very pro. Ernesto has a great team. He came by after it was all done and crawled around under the house with me, pointing out issues that his team had found and fixed. He even made a few quick repairs on site while we chatted under the house.
Ernesto is very experienced and knowledgeable in other home repair areas, too. He gave some well informed solutions to some other issues I was facing.

Ernesto’s company installed 2 sump pumps under my house as I had standing water in the crawl space after any large storms.
He has competitive pricing and his service was always prompt and reliable. Job well done!

I reached out to Ernesto upon learning that my home was in an area with a high water table, and finding 2 – 3 inches of standing water after a storm. Within one week, he visited my home and presented a thorough proposal of what I could do to remediate the issue, along with various options to reduce costs. Additionally, he pointed out simple improvements I could make to the house to improve drainage for free.
After comparing his proposal with a few other contractors in the Bay Area, I found him to come under budget for all but one, and he was far more experienced and knowledgeable than any other contractors I interacted with.
The job was done professionally, under budget, and quickly. A few weeks later a storm hit — the sump pump worked flawlessly, the crawl space was bone dry, and the home didn’t have any musty smell from wet soil. To top it off, the heater has been going off less since encapsulation.

New to Redwood Shores, I was not expecting an indoor lake under my house but it came with one specially after the first rain.
E Mora was able to install a couple of sump pumps and encapsulate the crawl space. Their work is clean. Their staff are courteous, friendly and respect your property.
I’d definitely recommend them to anyone in need of their services.

Ernesto and his crew performed a miracle at our Petaluma home, which we purchased back in March of 2014 knowing that the wet, nasty crawlspace would need some work.
I never met Ernesto, nor his crew, as I was at work while they pulled out the old moldy insulation, dug perimeter trenches with french drains, installed a sump pump and applied a multi-​layer vapor barrier throughout the crawlspace. Had I a chance to meet them today, I’d hug them all! Let me start here — when Ernesto came by our residence to offer us an initial estimate, it was quick, efficient and the scope of what he’d be doing was clearly defined — he knew exactly what he would do with our crawlspace. In contrast to my positive experience with Ernesto, we received an estimate from another encapsulation outfit, and the gentleman who stopped by did not inspire the same confidence — the gentleman from the other company seemed to waffle on exactly what we needed to do with our crawlspace, and also seemed to be up-​selling the need for a sump pump (which I didn’t at all think was necessary based on my own observations of how water has collected in our crawlspace) .
Ernesto’s pricing was pretty much spot on to the other quote we received, so based on his confidence-​inspiring estimate walk-​through, we immediately signed on with him.
His two man crew worked quickly, were polite, and did a very through job — all of the moisture barrier edges were thoroughly caulked, the seams were sealed with care, and there were zero signs of any half-a$$ed shortcuts being taken. They knocked out the entire job in about a day and a half.
Ernesto came by the following week to inspect the job personally. Post-​job, I feel confident stating that if we ever did have any issues with the encapsulation, I have no doubt Ernesto would stand by his work.
