Business Owner

Joe has been the owner of Save Tow & Repair for over 30 years now. The picture is of me, David, his son. I manage our yelp account. Joe started out with only two trucks based out of San Ramon.

Over the past 30 years, Joe has worked tirelessly to build the company to now over 40 trucks which includes battery /light service vehicles, wreckers, flat beds, two medium duty trucks, a 4-car carrier, a 30 ton heavy duty truck, a 60 ton 360 degree rotator heavy duty truck, two landolls and one container trailer with four tractors to pair with.

We have three office locations in San Ramon, Dublin, and Livermore, with Livermore being our main operation facility in which we dispatch from. Weather it’s as small as a motorcycle or large as a big rig we have the equipment and drivers to get the job done right.

Triple A warned me that it may be 3 hours before anyone could come replace my flat tire. I was bummed about spending my Sunday evening (1÷10÷16) stuck waiting but then Byron from SaveTow showed up in less than 15 minutes! He was friendly and so so fast. I’m grateful he was able to get my spare on in a couple minutes (literally) so I could make the most of my weekend. Thanks Byron!

My (newly replaced) car battery died and I was stuck in my driveway. Called AAA for a tow to the repair shop and they dispatched Save Tow towing, which arrived about 25 – 30 minutes later. The technician Mike B. (#34 804) was great! Super nice, helpful, and gave his best guess and explanation as to why the battery wasn’t holding a charge. He gave me a jump and charged the battery for a few minutes so I could make it to the shop.
Would have been ⁵⁄₅ if my experience ended there, but it doesn’t.
My car completely died on the way to the repair shop, with it stuck in the street. Luckily, Mike (Boz) was right behind and able to help push the car out of the turn lane, load it onto his truck, and drive it to the shop.
Mike’s professionalism and courtesy made my experience with Save Tow a ⁶⁄₅. Thanks again Boz!

Had great service today with Byron who showed up timely and got my battery replace with little to no hassle from me. He communicated with me very clearly when necessary, otherwise just did the job quickly to get me on my way. Was very appreciative of the fact that they don’t take my credit card on site for payment, they call it back in the office, no worries that my CC# is floating around on a piece of paper in a truck all day.

Stupidly, I locked my keys in the car at a Dublin, CA shopping center. I had to wait longer than the «within an hour» they promised at AAA, but when the driver Byron got there, he was quick, professional, and courteous. I give him a five-star rating!

This place is horrible. Our motorcycle broke down at 11pm on Saturday night. We were quoted $ 95 tow and $ 70 for storage, per day. We were given the option to pick it up Sunday or Monday, at $ 70 a day. We were on our way (an hour and a half away) when we called to let them know we were coming. We were told, at first, they did not have our vehicle. Then they called the idiot that towed us and said, yes they did have our vehicle. But we would have to pay the $ 100 gate fee, because it was Sunday. I told the HORRIBLE man on the phone that we were quoted $ 95 for the tow and $ 70 for storage and that was it. He called me a liar, said his employee would never tell a customer they could pick it up on a Sunday without paying a gate fee. I again told him I would not make this up and we were never told of a gate fee. Why would we leave our vacation to drive on a Sunday, if we knew we had to pay a gate fee? Also, had we been quoted the extra $ 100, we would have never agreed to have the bike towed to their yard. I was again called a liar and pretty much told me he was sorry I was too poor and couldn’t afford it. I never once said I couldn’t afford it and for this HORRID man to call a customer a liar and pretty much call a customer poor is bad business and horrible customer service skills. I am going to call the police tomorrow, when we pick it up, stating that they stole our bike, because, well, they did. We were told we could get it today and then they changed their story. We aren’t even sure it is still there, from the way the asshole made it sound. And they harassed and verbally abused me. I have no reason to fabricate a story or to lie. This is the WORST place I have ever had to deal with. I am also contacting the BBB on them and my attorney. How do they stay in business is beyond me.

Wow… didn’t think it was possible that these guys could be as bad as the reviews and actually they’re probably worse! When I say worse I mean like NEGATIVE 5 STARS!
I called AAA this morning at 8:30 to get my car towed to a repair shop. Was told that they are dispatching Save Tow and they will be here by 9:33. A little after 9 I see a Save Tow truck rolling by my house on the way to the freeway. I called AAA to notify them that the driver passed my place and was told they’re going to another job on the freeway. Mind you, according to Unilocal,Save Tow is 1.1 miles away from my house and the repair shop the car was going to is also on Scarlett (which is where save tow is located). Seems to me like a nice simple job and some quick cash.
Only problem is it’s now 11:10 as I’m writing this and still NO Save Tow. Icing on the cake is AAA is telling me they won’t dispatch another tow company. So now I get to write two crappy reviews, Save Tow & AAA. Then I get to solve the issue I started my day with… Thanks much Save Tow.
Best believe I’ll be writing a GLOWING review for whatever tow company I can get to clean up Save Tows mess! And once again, I’ve been bitten in the ass for NOT checking the Unilocal reviews first… SHAME ON ME.

Here is the deal with these tow companies, They are the same for the most part. They are allowed to legally steal other peoples property and hold it for ransom essentially. Legal Extortion. That’s is a big part of there business! Most of the drivers and owners of the companies are felons.
But this company was cool with us. We had a classic car that was lowered and broke down in San jose or Dublin. Multiple AAA tow companies came out and said sorry cant load it; because these tow outfits only get paid about $ 30 for towing AAA and they aren’t allowed to charge more or they lose there contract with AAA. Witch is stupid! So, if you have a vehicle that is hard to load or unload or have to go a long distance, the drivers are pissed and are rude or like with us, they will make up some BS about not being able to load your vehicle. They would rather be out stealing cars for their respective cities and selling them back to there owners for ransom!!! Pays better…

They gave me a reasonable price over the phone. I called from the freeway after several other AAA tow trucks left us. Save Tow got to us in 30min and the driver was excellent, took total care loading and unloading our classic 50’s car. For $ 140 he took it from San Jose to Walnut Creek and it took 50 plus min to load and 50 plus minutes unload our beast!!! I believe it was Carlos, He was very good.

If I could give NO stars, I DEFINITELY would. My experience was with the careless TOW TRUCK DRIVER (Francisco or Carlos, whatever was his name!) who scratch my C230 rims while backing up and pretended that it was nothing! Then, when I tried to let the manager know about the incident, I was IGNORED with a capital «I»!! Got the feeling that they discriminate against women because they think we don’t know!?! So, ladies, I suggest you let your man do the calling to save yourself wrinkles!

horrible! I first called to have them come down to get my keys out of my car. An hour goes by, so I call back to get an estimate of a time. The woman says, «oh you didnt tell me to schedule it». As if I call people to tell them I locked my keys in my car for no reason.
Then the tow truck driver unlocks my car, sets the alarm off, and leaves it in the parking lot. With the door open, car alarm blaring, and keys in the ignition. Would have been nice if he told me my car was ready and gave me my damn keys.
Dont ever use them.
