Great view of the mountains if you have a balcony. Not too far from historic district. Close to a great doughnut shop and cheap!

I am extremely disappointed with my staying here. Here is the list of complains: 1. I got a smoke free room alright, but the room smells like a marijuana warehouse. They need to change or at least clean the carpet. It is disgusting. 2. There are bugs everywhere in the room. I saw at least 6 of them in my room and 2 of them even got into my luggage. 3. The wifi never works the whole night. 4. I almost got burnt during shower. While I was taking a warm shower, as soon as the next door people turned on their faucet, my cold water just suddenly stopped. I am surprised that no one specially child has never hurt by this.

Room was just OK but the office staff was super friendly and let us know about road closures in the area. Saved us a major headache. Even gave us an amazing restaurant recommendation in the next town we were headed.

We stayed here because it was the last room available in town. Rooms were not very clean we were woke up in the morning hearing the housekeepers banging laundry carts in the room next to ours. Every time I went out on the balcony the housekeepers were having a smoking party behind the hotel. Breakfast was horribly disgusting don’t expect more than toast waffles and nasty coffee.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Nice continental breakfast. Coffee maker in the room. Nice linens. Fantastic front office staff. It’s a good standard motel.

I loved this place! We spent a week here, the staff was amazingly nice and accomodating. The woman who checked us in was well versed in service animals(which is extremely rare) and never fussed one bit over mine. They were very nice, every time I needed something or went in for breakfast. If I had an issue in town they were happy to talk about it and help me find a solution. The rooms are WAY nicer than I expected. The beds are extremely comfortable pillow tops, and I’m used to a memory foam. The bathroom is small, but still nice, and the shower head is great. I was/am really impressed with the hotel. :)

This place was fantastic compared to our previous nights experience in Phoenix! It was really clean and well kept. Every staff member was friendly and offered a greeting when they saw a guest. That counts with me. Rooms were fine, except for the classic«bed is too hard» hotel experience. I expect that, so it was no surprise. The breakfast was decent for free and it was well stocked. I would stay here again if we go to Durango.

I’ve stayed twice in this Travelodge, and each experience has been good. If you’re looking to book lodging in Durango, keep in mind that a Travelodge is inexpensive lodging. If you expect Ritz-Carlton amenities, you’re not going to get them. But if you want good, basic lodging, and still have some conveniences, this is the place for you. The Travelodge is located about 2 miles from the historic downtown. It’s a very easy drive. Or, if you prefer, the Durango transit bus stops right outside the Travelodge, so you can have a few brews downtown and get home safely. There is no restaurant at this hotel, but there are multiple options nearby, from a sit-down Mexican restaurant to coffee houses, fast food, and breakfast/lunch options. There is also a big grocery store about a block away. On the first stay, I made the reservation directly through the Travelodge website. On the second stay, I used Expedia. No problems either time, and all was well. On this most recent stay, I had a room on the first floor(I was offered a choice of first or second floor when I checked in). Along with the standard big TV and lots of cable channels(«Vikings» anyone?), there was a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee set-up. I expected the coffee set-up, but not the fridge or microwave. If you really want to stay cheap, you can get food at the grocery store and eat in the room. The bed was comfortable. The TV worked. The washroom was small but clean, and stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer. Three small bars of soap, too. I had two problems when I first got there, and the staff addressed them. First, my key card kept cancelling. It’s pretty frustrating to stand there and put that dumb card in 16 times, every which way you can think of, and still not get in. I had to replace it a couple times. About the third time, the hotel receptionist said, be sure to keep it away from your cell phone. The cell phone signal will erase the magnetic strip. Sounded weird, but I said, okay. Once I kept the key card in my wallet, I had no further problem. At first, too, I couldn’t the Wi-Fi signal in my room. The front-desk clerk called his boss and got some tricks to try with the hotel connection. After that, no problem with Wi-Fi in my room. The two front desk clerks I dealt with, Catherine and Dakota, were very friendly and helpful. The room got cleaned regularly and well. No complaints or problems with cleanliness. There is a small breakfast buffet. Nothing fancy, just some little muffins, fruit, bagels, and lots of coffee. I usually went out for breakfast, but I certainly drank a lot of the coffee! All in all, I was very happy with the Travelodge experience, both in 2014 and 2012. I would stay again.

If you are planning on staying in this Motel, don’t. No night lock on the door, which also didn’t fit(light coming in all the way around), cigarette butts, and scruffy balcony, A/C that didn’t provide cool air, pillows that came off a couch, Coffee pot that hadn’t been cleaned in who knows how long. Stayed one night, checked out, went elsewhere. I’ve stayed in some dumps, and this goes right along with them. Shame on you, Wyndham.
