Discount Tire Store – El Cajon, CA

Went to discount tire today after work because one of my tires kept losing air causing my tire light to come on and they told me that I had a nail in my tire and patched it up and did that for FREE! I will definitely be going back to purchase new tires when I need them! They are very professional and nice! Thank you guys!

5 Stars. Good customer service (I think it was the Manager himself). Just needed a tire rotation and balance. Estimated wait time about and hour or more. I used to be a tire technician, so the wait times can vary. I think my car was done less than the estimated time. I had gone to the Santee one, probably will be going here (El Cajon one) in the future. Never let your customer service standards go low. Good job, gentlemen.

Can’t say enough about the efficiency, politeness, kindness, and professionalism of the guys who work at this store. They are all awesome, but I have dealt with Andy twice and I couldn’t be happier with his service. I am glad I will never have to shop for tires again, cuz I will always just come here!

I needed some service on my tires in the form of a rotation and pressure check. They completed a complete inspection, and commented that my tires tread looked good, except for the front to so I indeed was in need of a rotation.
Anyways, the manager was very specific in his explanation and was informative. In the end, I think I need to slow down on those curves and turns. It took about an hour for them to rotate the tires and adjust the pressure. I had purchased the tires from another Discount Tire Co, in Rancho San Diego, so the rotation was complimentary.
I liked this location, it was smaller than some of the others, and they really need to get some free Wi-​Fi installed in the waiting room for customers. Service was on point, and so was the gent who brought my car out to me after the rotation. I glad Discount Tire Co. is around. By thr way, I also purchase my wheels from them too.

Emmiil greeted me as soon as I walked through the door. Calling before heading in greatly sped up the process. His team had my tire replaced before I could finish my breakfast burrito a few doors down. Coming back this week for 3 more tires on my other car. Great job!

This shop is as good as it gets. The customer service is outstanding and the crew energetic. I came in for bad tire and left without paying a dime. I know other shops will fix a flat for free, but there is always an upsell; not here. These guys are all about what is best for the customer. My wife and I are customers for life.

Came here to get my two front tires rotated, not even told how long its going to take, I ask and they say a little over an hour. A little over an hour passes, and then it gets taken care of. So it took about a hour and 35 – 40 mins. On my way back home, my hubcaps fall off in the middle of the freeway. Haha. So I call to tell them what happened and Dennis (manager) is not apologetic at all, tells me the guys there happen to «make mistakes.» Its procedure you take the hubcaps off when your tires are being balanced. He says he talked to the guy who did it, who happens to be a very «good-​worker», and is assistant manager. Anyways, he gets the hubcaps shipped out so we can put them back on. Come in today to get them on, some hispanic guy w black hair puts them on, I ask, so theres no way there going to fall off again right? He responds, «It takes a lot for them to fall off.» «You have to pull them off.» Haha right. So literally as I drive off the parking lot, one comes off AGAIN. Daniel puts it back on. Words were exchanged. In summary, does not apologize, puts it back on, and then I tell him this is the second time, he goes and says «Well, you can go ahead and pull it off to see it comes off.» Doesn’t even explain as to WHY it came off or gives me reasons why. Puts me on the spot to try and pull off my own hubcap, when I shouldnt even have to. Makes a comment about «Well I’m not saying you’re driving a certain way, but that could be the reason, or your wheels are old.» When he should have given professional reasons as to WHY it fell off rather than putting me on the spot and telling me to test its reliability by pulling off my hubcap. Unprofessional, rude, condescending, unapologetic. Im sure people come here for small things but do not come here for other types of mechanic work. Daniel also said he put them on the first time, and then began to explain reasons why and became apologetic after I mentioned it — only to my boyfriend (whose not even the owner of the vehicle). All I have to say is, yes maybe the cars hubcaps may have fallen off due to its year. Its a 77 chevy impala (but hubcaps just happen to fall off after tires being balanaced and not any other time). It does not mean I should feel that I shouldnt be taken care of, or workers should make me feel that I’m lying, or be told that «you literally have to hammer off the hubcaps off». These workers made me feel that they did not want to do the work whatsoever, made me feel that I was lying (like I just looove waiting and being at discount tire) and they did not care to help me. Indeed, the demenaors were very mechanical and not sympathetic. One bit.

Not thrilled with this location. I’ve had good experiences in the past but this experience broke it for me. I called yesterday to inquire about tires and the man I spoke with was great and quoted me a price of $ 270 something for 2 back tires, I had every intention of going on but since it was raining I decided against it. I called to make an appt today and the man I spoke with told me no, that wasn’t right and it would be like $ 490 or something and didn’t even try to find cheaper ones or offer to see if he could order cheaper ones (which TWO other locations did when I called them after I got off the phone with this guy) I’m very disappointed in the lack of customer service I received today! Even though this is the closest location to me, I will be going to one of the other locations near me!

Dan was very helpful and friendly! On a road trip and our PTMS came on, indicating something was wrong. He offered us a gauge, Tested the tire sensors & explained that we were safe to continue the drive. Dan saved the day!!!

Great group of guy and fast and friendly service. Had to have some wheel locks removed and new standard lugs installed. Dennis the manager is very involved and has built a great team there

Service is always late here. I came back in today for tire rotation and balancing my appointment was at 1200, I arrived at 11:53 and didn’t expect service until 1200. It’s 1215 and my car hasn’t even been pulled back. When I asked the manager to educate me on their appointment policy he explained that their policy is to schedule appointments but it still take about 40 minutes, which in my opinion is unacceptable. Well of course it does because they’re NEVER on time. In my line of work like many others I’m sure if someone has an appointment the expectation is to be on time. I expect if my appointment is at 1200 for my car to either have a bay open and waiting or to be taken back within 5 minutes. The manager explained to me they have to juggle their appointments with their walk ins. I also understand that but if someone walks in their expectation should be to expect a wait and they should be told that by the service writer. Apparently having an appointment at this place doesn’t mean diddly squat. I’m beyond annoyed and will be looking for another place to conduct business.

Needed 4 new tires, went on their website, I knew exactly what I needed and knew about the average price for one tire (I need low profile tires which are a little but more expensive), I printed a page with the price on it, made an appointment on their website for 830 am, which I am glad I did because they were already busy so early in the am. The gentleman who took care of me, tried to sell me their warranty, I told him no at first, so what he did was lowering the price of the tires and by the time he added the warranty to it, it came up to the same original price I was going to pay anyway !!! So I got 4 new tires with warranty for the same price I expected to pay. SWEET ! Service was fast and I was on my way to work in no time !!!

My son had a flat and he was stuck so I started calling around. Not only did Justin quote prices, but he told me I could come and pick the tires up and take them to my son. I thought better of that so I had my son meet me over at the store on Broadway. Justin was such a salesman and so friendly that I decided to buy four tires right then. We were in and out in about 45 minutes!
Friendly, good service is hard to come by these days, but I tell you what I will go back there.

Emil is fantastic I bought two sets of Michelin tires for two different cars in two days. Not only did he beat Cosco’s price both times I received the certificates for the extra warranty. The time they took to install the tires was less than an average car wash. I highly recommend Discount Tire & all they’re fantastic employees who helped me. Keep up the good work and I look forward to doing business with you for a long long time.

Had a great experience here this morning. Went in with a leaky tire. I knew the leak wasn’t huge, but knew it was there. They took my keys and less than 45 minutes later I was driving away. They said there was a small nail in the tire that they removed and repaired. They balanced and inflated all of my tires to the correct inflation. Cost me nothing. I was shocked. Thanks for the excellent service this morning Discount Tire! I will definitely return with my future needs.

Went in late afternoon yesterday about 4:45 PM, needed to replace all 4 tires on my Ford. Dennis, the attendant, was able to check in me quickly and all in was on my way out by 6:15 pm.
All of the staff were polite, and very hard workers. The waiting room was filled with rush hour customers getting the late Monday repairs.
Keep it up guys! Def. the spot for any tire changes or repairs in San Diego!

My husband took my car for me to get two new back tires because I was pregnant & I’ve just noticed that they put on the wrong size of tire onto my car. Because of this I now have to get four new tires instead of two. I’m not sure who he dealt with and he didn’t seem to have any problems with their level of customer service. It’s possible I can talk my way into a partial refund but who’s got time for that? Matching tire size might not be a policy held everywhere, but I think you should get what you ask and pay for.

These guys were great. I was indecisive about what I really wanted in a tire and wheel combination. They were patient and didn’t rush me. Thanks so much. I am really happy with the end result. I highly recommend these guys!

My family has been going here over two decades. I bought a set of tires at Discount two years ago and had a flat a few weeks ago. Triple A put on the spare and I took it down to Discount to see if the flat could be repaired. The tire was not repairable and I would need four new tires, since the wear bars were showing on the back tires.
I told Byron I’d return the next week due to my schedule. When I returned to purchase tires, the same make and brand had to be ordered. However he had another make he could put on that day. He compared the prices and warranties. Warranties! What about my warranty on the set of tires that I’m replacing?! He had totally missed that I had 15,000 left on my old tires which would yield a prorated credit of almost $ 200, had I not asked.
I ordered the tires I originally asked for and had the warranty credit applied. I received a message a few days later that the maker isn’t making the same tire but he could order the closest one which would be $ 7 more per tire. At this point I’m now working with Steven as Byron is off. I agree to go forward with the order. Steven says he’ll call me back in 15 mins to confirm the order has been made and when the tires should arrive. Six hours later I call him back. Apologies made, he said the tires should arrive Friday or Monday.
By Friday I’ve heard nothing, I called at 5 pm and ask Steven for the status of the tires’ arrival. They’re in so if I like, come down now as they are slow. I arrive at 5:30 pm. They take my car just about 6 pm, closing time. About 15 mins later, the car is pulled up. The last car of the day, lights out and I asked if my spare has been returned to its correct compartment in the wheel well. Yes! The guy says with a hurried look.
I get home and pop my trunk and the spare is laying there not where it should be. I drive back the next morning and pop the trunk showing a totally different guy my spare is rattling around loose in my trunk. He looks a little closer and sees that it is the defective flat tire and I had not been given a good spare from my original tires as I had been told I’d be getting. More apologies.
Having this experience of neglected warranty and spare tire plus additional trips and phoning, I can’t do much worse. I’m headed to Costco next time. Appalling service at this Discount Tire store.
