Fast Fix Jewelry and Watch Repairs

Went there today to get a new clasp put on a bracelet that was a gift. I’m sure the bracelet not worth more than $ 20. The guy quoted me $ 85 to replace the clasp after checking with the manager. To replace a clasp! Are you kidding me??? When I looked shocked and said that was too much he asked me how much I’d be willing to pay. Seriously? First you try to gouge me then you ask me what I’m willing to pay. When I said not more than $ 20, he didn’t answer. I walked out and believe me I will NEVER set foot in there again. I used to get watch batteries there a few years ago, they obviously have new owners who are obviously very greedy. Not great customer service. Don’t go there!

Came in to have a battery replaced in the wife’s Seiko. Told me that my 5 year warranty had expired … Doubt that it has been that long, but without a receipt I asked for another 5 year battery. Thirty minutes later I was on my way. Got home and removed the watch from my pocket… No bag provided and the spring clip that holds the band on was gone. This is a component that they remove to replace that battery. Arrived today to voice my displeasure with the quality of the fix … Not real concerned with my displeasure and in less than 10 minutes I was on my way… Never to return. BTW $ 29 for the battery

Short story: This franchise, formerly owned by the guy who now owns the UTC San Diego store, switched out my Rolex watch bracelet with a counterfeit one instead of repairing the original as promised. I didn’t notice the switch until I recently sent the watch back to the Rolex service center for routine cleaning. Turns out Fast Fix simply attached the authentic Rolex engraved clasp to a fake bracelet and took the original. I’m currently working with local law enforcement regarding this situation, which appears to be grand theft, since these bracelets are several thousand dollars to replace. In my opinion this business is one to avoid. If you need a battery in your Timex, perhaps, but I wouldn’t trust them with anything of value.

DIAMOND SWAPPED! Crooks work in this place! STAY AWAY! Husband bought me a new diamond for my 15^th wedding anniversary. Took the diamond in to have it placed into the ring. The guy quoted me $ 125 (a lot) but he could do it in 20 min, and I did it because I was in a hurry. Came back to get the ring, and it was lovely. But the original diamond they gave me in the tiny plastic bag was NOT my original diamond. I thought it looked like a weird color, dirty and smaller. When I asked if he made a mistake, he looked distraught and quickly said that the diamonds look a lot different when they are unset/​loose. I thought maybe I was being neurotic, till I checked my ring paperwork at home. The inclusions were all wrong — so was the color.
PS There’s a NEW place in Parkway Plaza: xPRESS Jewelry Watch REPAIR. Crazy reasonable and super FAST — fixed my ring’s 2 bent prongs for $ 42, instead of $ 98 in 15 min. While I watched!

If only I read the reviews here before letting my husband drop off his Movado watch to get the battery changed and cleaning.
The offer for a new battery was $ 25 but if he wanted warranty, it would be $ 35. Cleaning was $ 100 and it wouldn’t be ready until a week later. He opt out for $ 25 battery change.
Once he picked up his watch, 6 days later… SIX DAYS LATER, the battery died. He went in to complain about it and what they told him was, «You don’t have the battery warranty so we can’t do anything for you. You’ll have to pay for another one.»
Really? What they should tell their future customers is that a $ 25 worth battery change will only last you 6 days. Would I be mad if it died after 6 months? No but six days? I was furious!
After arguing with 3 workers who obviously didn’t care about our situation, my husband became impatient and ended up paying $ 35 on top of what was bullshit in the first place. They came out showing us that they have replaced a new battery (AGAIN) before they closed it up. I pointed out how would you guys remember it’s a warranty battery this time? «Whoops, I forgot to put a sticker on there which lets us know.» Can you say Wow? If I didn’t remind them, my husband would have been ripped off again.
Seriously, treat your customers how you want to be treated. Maybe give all your customers a warning to just buy warranty batteries because anything less will not last you a week.
I would have not paid them for more service like my husband did. Take your business elsewhere.

I’ve used Fast Fix for almost 15 years, first in El Cajon, then at North County Fair, mostly for watch battery replacement. I like getting the batteries with lifetime warrenties. I’m probably not leaving the San Diego area anytime soon, so I know I’ll be able to benefit from my investment. But today, along with a rare watch battery replacement, I brought in some silver items to be polished. They were 2 sets of childrens fork and spoon sets. My mother had given them to me, for her 2 grandgirls when they turned age one. They are Tiffany & Co pieces, and it was a tradition in my family to give these gifts to the children at age 1. (Nice tradition, huh?) I called Tiffanys in Fashion Valley to see if they could help me with polishing them. When I polished them did, it just wasn’t very good. To have Tiffany & Co polish them for me would cost no less than $ 250 and take up to 8 weeks because they would have to send them back to NYC. WOW. I was truley baffled. So, when I went to Fast Fix today at Parkway Plaza in El Cajon, I asked about polishing the forks and spoons. They quoter me $ 35 a piece, AND the price of the watch battery. I decided to ask, (barter) if we could work out some kind of a ‘bundle’ price. (Remember. Try to negociate. You’ll never know unless you try.) They lowered the cost for the polishing to $ 20 a piece. Still pricey, but doable. The finished products took my breath away. They actually looked BRAND NEW!!! All the scratches from the multible trips down the garbage disposal, were GONZO! 2 of the forks had been twisted from the same fate as the scratches. All resolved and fixed. I just can’t say enough about this particular visit and the service I received at this Fast Fix. I already liked them fine enough, but now, I have a few more projects I’m going to trust Fast Fix to complete. Good Job!

Two years ago I had a battery replace in my watch at this shop. At the time this was done I felt the cost was way to high but I paid it and purchased the 5 year extended warranty on the battery. Today nearly two years later it paid off. I needed another battery and it was replaced totally free thanks to keeping my receipt showing the extended warranty. It only took about 30 minutes to replace and the staff were friendly and courteous.

Today I brought in my watch which I adore because I got it in Venice, Italy. It needed a new battery. The employee Liz was so nice and friendly and made me and my daughter feel very welcome. Best of all when I returned she said they saw that the battery was theirs and still under warranty until 2016 so there was no charge. Not only did they replace the battery without charging me, they cleaned the watch face which was a little cloudy on the inside. I don’t keep track of this stuff at all and had completely forgotten that I got a battery there a few years back. It is so nice to see a business who is honest because frankly they could have easily charged me and they did not. I recommend them highly.

Gone totally down hill overnight, they have new owners, they got rid of their staff, they raised the prices and I will never step foot in that business again, and I don’t recommend anybody do so… let’s see them close, consumers do not deserve to be gouged so badly and lied to!

Went to pick up watches that had battery replacements. Liz at the front admired my wedding rings and said let us clean those rings and check to make sure the settings are good. She took it behind the cubicle and then came back to tell me my large diamond was loose the fitting was cracked and I could lose it. They can fix it in two hours for $ 350. I said no thank you I will take it to my jeweler. The Jeweler came out and said I can fix it in two hours for $ 300. You might lose your diamond. I took it to my jeweler and he said the must be trying to pay their rent. There was nothing wrong with my setting and the stone was not loose. I have had watch batteries replaced for years. I will NEVER do business with them again! Beware!

First let me start by saying that this is not for the broke and unappreciative.
I have come to this place maybe two or three times this year, and wouldn’t go anywhere else not because its the best place simply because so far I’ve received great customer service and never had to return because of anything wrong with my jewels.
I’ve heard very bad things from the old management, which has recently changed, however I never had a bad experience as I never dealt w/​management, just with the nice customer service ladies at this location.

Totally dissatisfied is the only way to describe my feelings about this shop! I took my Citizen Eco-​drive in to have the crystal replaced because it was busted. Got the watch back several weeks later and the crystal was replaced but they didn’t set the time to ensure it was working right. A piece of the crystal had stopped the hands so the digital time and hands were not synchronized. I left it with them because no one at the shop knew how to set the time. Three weeks later hen finally done, I pick it up and it still isn’t right. Oh and they still charge me for setting the time to get my watch back. Totally unacceptable!!!

Bad service, overpriced items. They wanted $ 65 to resize a white gold ring. Really??? $ 65. They are crazy.

Really helpful and really friendly. Susanna was with us every step of the way and was really helpful and understanding. Really awesome employee!
They installed a custom clasp on my wife’s bracelet for cheap; they removed the jump links for free when it was too big; and they even resized it for half off when it was still too big even though it wasn’t their fault. And they polished it all three times for free!
Really nice people!

I got engaged back in August, and though my ring was absolutely beautiful, it was a size too large. Nothing I could really complain about because how was my now-​fiancé to know that I have freakishly bony, size 4 ET fingers? Since the engagement, I kept meaning to get it resized but was always too lazy, tired, busy, or hungover to make time for it (don’t judge, it’s called celebrating). As it’s gotten colder, though, my already creepy-​thin fingers have shriveled into ghostly sun-​bleached cat turds, and I’ve had to hold my left hand in an awkward hook shape just to ensure the ring didn’t fall off. I imagine at this point you are thinking «holy shit, your hands are disgusting» and you’re right, they are.
Anyway, I met for lunch with my mom at Parkway Plaza today (because no duh we’re a classy family), and she noticed my gnarled cat turd claw hand and said «that’s it — Im taking you to get your ring sized at Fast Fix.» Actually, she said «Mr. Fix It Man» but clearly that was just a hilarious mom-​mix-​up.
I’m glad I didn’t check Unilocal before heading over or I might have backed out, and I’d still be walking around with a palsy hand with a too-​big, super dirty ring, but instead I’m sitting here an hour later with a BEAUTIFUL, SHINY, PERFECTLY FITTED RING and only slightly grotesque-​looking hands. The guy at Fast Fix was friendly, helpful, super quick, and did a fantastic job — he sized my ring without the slightest seam and cleaned it so nicely it looks brand new. Like, I didn’t know I was walking around with a nasty ass fogged up poop ring, but apparently I was because now it looks BEAUTIFUL. Plus they hooked me up with a 20% coupon for next time I need it cleaned, which based on my hygiene issues I predict will be in 45 minutes. The total cost was $ 75, which was steeper than I thought, but absolutely worth it.
Moral of the story: I am gross. Fast Fix is not.

They scratched the back of my watch. I looked at the back of the watch while I was waiting to be waited on. They said, no we only lift the inside of the watch. After reading all the reviews, it just confirms my intuition.
$ 18 to replace a battery is ridiculous. Waiting whne I dropped it off and when I picked it up. There was a customer complaining about the watch battery warranty that it was not written on the back when it should’ve been.
Do not go here.

SCAM SCAM SCAM! Needed a new battery for my Swiss Army watch, they convinced me that my watch needed the «highest quality battery»…$ 45 later and I’m thinking I «What was I thinking paying that price?» Go to look up the «high-​quality brand of battery»…$ 1.07…absolutely livid, called them up, the most unwelcoming, unsatisfactory woman doesn’t do ANYTHING for me. I BEG OF YOU DON’T GO TO THIS MONSTROSITY. And if you do, be careful how they treat you… they are professional scam artists no matter how nice and complimentary they are to you.

Very worst service ever. Very overpriced and has absolutely no customer service whatsoever.

I been to this fast fix a few times over the years and really have never had a problem. On my most recent trip I got a watch for Christmas and needed to get the band sized. I got there right when they opened and took my watch and told me to come back in 20 mins. When I came back they had it ready on did some final adjustments to make to it fit right. I will admit they are a little expensive but in my experience they seem to do good work.

While there may be a lot of haters on this place, and how much you have to pay up for convenience, in a pinch they fix up your glasses or watch or band. So it is what it is.
