I wish I could give negative stars for this review. I recently learned that Zales will not stand by their product unless you actually go to a zales shop. Despite using their brand, apparently the«outlets» in the mall do not stand by their crappy merchandise. Early December I purchased a ring to symbolize the birth of my son. When my husband and I went in, the Representative that measured for my ring did it wrong, telling me to order a size too big and then actually ordering a ring half that size. So when it came in I had to reorder and pay extra because the sale was then over. End total was about $ 80. When I finally got my ring, less than a month after purchase the middle stone fell out. I took it back and they told me they can do nothing because I didn’t purchase the extra warranty for $ 25. I was taken aback. The representative said, «You need to buy the warranty because a stone can fall out in 2 days.» They told me that they can send the ring to their factory or whatever to get the stone replaced for a fee starting at $ 60. So basically I would be paying almost enough for a second ring just to replace a piece of colored glass. No thank you. When my husband asked the store manager the following morning, he was already telling him he was SOL before my husband was able to finish the story. My father later sent an email to corporate and they told him that only actual Zales stores will stand by their product and outlets don’t count as Zales stores. So all of you who still shop with Zales, I warn you that they are cheap, useless thieves who are cheating you out of your hard earned money. They treat their customers like the crappy jewelry they sell. I used to like them as I got my engagement and wedding bands from them, but I will never go back again.

I hate this jeweler. They’re extremely rude. They honestly don’t even deserve one star. Last time I’ll ever be going into this sales location.

Hi, I have been a very loyal customer to Zales, I was super pleased when my boyfriend picked out and surprised me with a promise ring. It might have only been $ 325 but we bought the warranty on it and I had a it cleaned for every event. When we broke up this year, I was broken-hearted for months. I tried to give the ring back to him several times, then I decided to trade it in for something else. I needed to move on. I was pretty much in tears when I walked into Zales, the lady looked it up and said she could only take rings back within 90 days. I barely could hold back my tears and walked out of the store. One month later, armed with my best friend, I tried again. The man at the Zales in Parkway Plaza, El Cajon looked it up, saying they could not take it back because it was a fashion ring. I didn’t want the ring, I begged him to take it back. He said no, suggested to take it to the Gold and Silver place. I did. They wanted $ 45. No way. Walking around the mall in defeat, I stopped by a Kay’s Jewelry store. I told her my story and she was wonderful, I traded the ring back for the full $ 325 and spent over $ 400 buying things for myself, mom, and sister. It was the best experience and I felt like the happiest girl in the world. I will no longer shop at Zales or suggest it to any of my friends. Kay’s was able to turn around a crying, emotional woman into a Queen.

Two weeks ago my mom ordered me a ring in the store as my birthday present. When it arrived to the store for us to pick, it had two missing diamonds. We couldn’t believe it arrived missing diamonds before even getting to wear it. Thankfully, she got the diamond bond so we sent it in to get fixed. It came back great &10x more shiny. But now I’ve only had it back for a week & already have 3 diamonds missing as of tonight. I haven’t even been hard on my hands or the ring. We are insanely disappointed in «Zales» quality. We didn’t just have problem with my ring, within the same week of purchasing my ring my mother also bought my daughter gold sapphire earring & in that same week the sapphire fell out. So we went back & returned them, got a new set(but the same style she originally bought) & purchased the diamond bond. Well now, second week into having them on my daughter we realize about two days ago that the earring completely fell out. So safe to say Zales doesn’t hold an importance in quality like they use too. My bond does nothing for me if the earring falls out, which means my mom is now paying off a set of earring on her Zales credit card for something that isn’t even being used. She physically only has one side of those earring from the pair. I don’t think it is far fetch to say that the backing was faulty! Just look at all the information & time frame I have given. I will be in tomorrow to fix my ring & after that I’m totally done with them. Here I come Kay Jewlers. Or anywhere else for that matter!

Worst service ever from Zales. I will NOT be coming to this location EVER again. Go to a different one! I was trying to surprise my husband for when he gets back from deployment. My husbands ring was a half size too big. My husband even said he wanted it sized down only by a half size. So the guy that was helping me comes up and asks what size I wanted to get it, and before I could even answer, this other guy comes over and interrupts us and says«well he should come in so we can size him» hello my husband is effing deployed. They’ve sized him before, and they were a half size off. The reason we need it changed. And this guy was like«well like I said, he should come in and we can size him» so again I was like«he only wants it changed by half size» and the guy was like«he needs to be sized!» basically telling me they weren’t going to take the ring. He wouldn’t let me talk. He kept putting up his hand to like shhh me and tell me no. So I just grabbed the ring and walked out. Like I said, I just wanted to surprise my husband when he gets back from deployment and have his ring ready, but now that’s not gonna happen… I don’t know the guys name. He’s black with glasses and stands over you while you’re just sitting there and gets in your face if you don’t agree with him. Little did he know I was in the military too. So disrespectful.

My wife and I took her wedding band to Zales for resizing because we had bought it their and thought they were a OK operation. I was kind of put off by them not being able to find a record of the sale and then a trainee being ‘taught’ by someone I could barely understand. I left my wife to deal with them since she wanted done even though I was having misgivings. Cut to the chase… They charged us $ 54 to increase ring by ONE size and buffed off almost ALL of the detail that made the ring so beautiful! She had apparently signed a waiver for them to destroy it at will! Moral: DON’T have any ‘work’ done by these HACKS… d;^(
