The installation was on time and perfect. Some of the nicest and most knowledgeable tradespeople you’ll ever meet. As a bonus, the finished product is beautiful.
If they ever tire of flooring, Spike and his crew could conduct seminars on the correct way to run a business.

This review is based off interaction and not work completed.
My husband and I requested a quote to repair our hardwood floors. Spike responded to the call and unfortunately we have old floors that Abbey does not work on. Rather than just leave, he not only left us with the name of a company that does work on our floor type but also forwarded our information to a second company that also works on our floor type. Spike was friendly, professional and went above and beyond to help us.

Even though we had a couple of hiccups, great customer service to make it right. Spike helped us the entire time and was very understanding and professional and overall made the hiccup better. Situation was that we bought tile with a Versailles pattern and when we got the tile, our installer placed the design on the floor and informed us that all of the tile that was 8×16 was ¼″ too big. We had Spike come out and confirm and he offered compensation for the error even though it wasn’t Abbey Floorings fault but rather the tile manufacturers fault. Tile manufacturer denied wrong doing and Spike fixed the situation.

I contacted Abbey’s at my co worker’s referral; she was very pleased.
I kid you not… I had about 5 different floor company’s in my house displaying their wares… or trying. Good salesmanship is indeed becoming a lost art.
When I went inside the store I spoke with both Spike and his Son (I’m sorry, I forgot the son’s name). They both were very knowledgeable.
Spike then came to my house a couple days later to speak with me some more regarding my flooring options.
I decided to go with Abbey’s bc Spike gave me a calming, genuine & down home feeling of true honesty… again, salesmanship is an a lost art.
I would definitely do business with them again.

I need to give credit to the gentleman (and his assistant) who actually did my floor. He was great. His work was great and when I get additional work done I will request the same guy!

Called and had an appointment set up for the following week. They never showed up nor called that they would not be there. Very unprofessional and disappointed.

Called many flooring companies today looking for single 24×24in tile all wanted me to buy full box only!!! Then I called Abbey Flooring and talked to Spike he not only had what I wanted he gave me 1 24×24 in tile for free. That’s what I call excellent customer service! These guys are awesome. Spike was great to deal with. He showed us different floor samples based on what we told him we wanted. He offered suggestions, but didn’t push any type of flooring on us. He was quick to come out and measure, and the ordering process was super easy.
We had a contractor install the flooring (not affiliated with Abby) and he screwed it up. We told Spike, he sent his guy out to fix someone else’s screwup in a jif. My only complaint is that we didn’t use his install guy in the first place. Any other future flooring business we do will be done here.

We used Abbey flooring on getting carpet and wood laminate in our house. We were very pleased with their products, quality, service, and communication. They were knowledgeable and helpful, and their installers were great as well. We worked primarily with Darren, who was really great to work with and very responsive and helpful. Very happy with their price and service, and will definitely be using them on other projects.

Very satisfied customer of Abbey Flooring. Met with Spike on a number of occasions prior to having some tile work done at my home. Spike was friendly, courteous, and had my best interest in mind. When I was ready to have the tile installed, the crew Francisco and his workers where professional. They laid out protective covering over newly hardwood floors. They were quick and accurate, and carried out the work to my satisfaction, even came out a day later to assist with reinstalling washer, drier, and toilet. I had previous experiences in the past before in where work would take longer and not know when the contractor would be back to complete the work not with Abbey. Highly recommend Abbey Flooring.

Darren showed up early. Was quick, efficient, pleasant and knowledgeable. Jim was also great and easy to deal with and schedule everything. Haven’t decided on what we’re gonna do yet but he definitely helped and we’ll stop by the showroom. Thanks Jim and Darren for the professional attitude. All in all, much better than my initial experience.

Had another floor company take a look at the work they performed at my house. I had complained but they said my complaints were not valid. My concerns were validated when I choose to bring in another company. Abby will not and can not correct the issues, but they will deny any responsibility for their terrible craftsmanship. Shame on me for not pursuing these issues.

Working with Spike on my rental was fantastic. He was extremely flexible with my schedule since I actually live in SF. I was impressed with his willingness to patiently teach me about the flooring options. But what was even more memorable is that he didn’t try to up sale me on materials.
Spike modeled multiple cost scenarios for my rental projects and we were very pleased with our result.
The overall cost was very competitive but the attention to details throughout the process was a game changer for me (including final walkthrough).
Spike and Abbey Flooring will be top of my list for future flooring needs.

Working with Spike was easy. He was knowledgeable and guided my wife and I to the carpet and laminate flooring we were looking for. Installation was completed as scheduled and in a timely manner. We highly reccomend Spike at Abbey Florring. J. Munoz

Had some tiling done in a bathroom. Tile purchase experience was fine.
Problems started with the install – we had glass mosaic tile on one wall of the bathroom.
— Installer (let’s call him Installer X) left an excessive amount of grout that covered many of the matchstick tiles. I have included a picture of the problem. Keep in mind, most of the wall looked this way, not just a small section.
— Installer X also ran out of tile for that wall, leaving us with a ~3-​inch gap of wall at the top, which meant they would have to come another day to finish… that is, after a week or two for the new tile to arrive.
— A black ‘X’ in ink was clearly visible on one of the tiles. I suspect this was a piece the installer marked for a cut, thinking it would be scrap, but then had to use it in an attempt to finish the job.
— We had schluter metal framing put around a mirror inset on the same wall. The metal frame is a rectangular outline. Three out of four of the rectangle sides were fine – one solid piece of metal each side. For some reason, Installer X used two separate pieces of metal for the fourth side. This left an unsightly grout line cutting through the frame.
The job looked like a DIY project gone wrong.
I voiced my concerns to Spike and specifically requested that Installer X never be a part of any future work in my house.
Next, a new installer, Installer Y, came out to fix the mess. He took one look at the metal framing to be replaced (one side) and said he didn’t have enough material to fix this job. So we had to wait again.
Material eventually arrived some days later and we were able to schedule an appointment. Guess who comes out to fix the mess? Installer X! Yes, the same guy I requested to never see again. I had to call the office to inform them I didn’t want the same guy who botched the job to do the repair. Lady I spoke with was very nice, though I have forgotten her name. Shortly after, I get a call from «Chewy» telling me that they can’t find anyone to replace Installer X for the day, so I’d have to reschedule. I called the office back to let them know, and they replied that they could make it happen. Eventually it got worked out and another installer, Installer Z, was sent over in the afternoon.
Before Installer Z arrived, I got a call from Jim, the owner. Jim basically told me Installer X has been with them for years and does great work. I don’t doubt he does great work most of the time, but I also don’t doubt he did terrible work this time. Jim’s attitude was more defensive than apologetic. Didn’t leave me with a warm, fuzzy.
Installer Z arrived, filled the gap at the top with tile, ripped out another section next to the metal framing, then reinstalled framing and tile. In the process of taking out tile, he inadvertently took off a layer of drywall off the adjacent wall. He showed me the damage before leaving and, instead of fixing it himself, gave me a can of drywall texture spray followed by verbal instructions of how to use it. I just chuckled and went along with it, knowing someone else would be out the next day to grout anyway, so I’d have that guy do the spray. Why the heck would I be the one to fix their damage? Very strange.
Final installer comes the next day to grout. I couldn’t take another full day of work off to watch. When I came home to see the finished project, the drywall had been patched, but not textured. And the spray bottle of texture they left me had been taken. Great. I had to buy a can of spray myself from Home Depot and do the final touches on the repair.
Since there was excessive grout covering many of the tiles, I had to use a dental pick to painstakingly scrape it off. So far I have put about 5 hours into it and still have about half the wall to go.
Overall, a pretty miserable experience. To his credit, Spike seemed sincere in apologizing and gave me a small discount off the price after it was all over.
I’m hoping my experience was an outlier because I try to support local businesses, but I just can’t recommend Abbey Flooring.

My wife and I moved into a fully carpeted house. Our dogs did not enjoy the moving process and repaid us by urinating on every piece of carpet that we had. Never having any sort of dealings with flooring, I was a little apprehensive. The sales manager, Spike, walked us through, no kidding, one of the easiest buying processes ever. And I am picky. Super picky. We picked out our materials, Spike got the crew out there super fast and it was in, finished and taken care of ON TIME.

Now here is the clincher, Spike noticed that we had a fire place, which for some unknown reason, was tiled the same as the floor adjoining it. It washed out any charm that the fireplace may have had. Spike gave us an insane price on retiling the fireplace, and it came out awesome.

A few weeks later, being the genius that I am, broke the dishwasher, then tried to put in a new one, without regards to the newly installed tile. I had to break the new tile to get the dishwasher out and the new one in. I told Spike my dilemma and he had someone over within hours to fix my embarrassing attempt at home repair.
I am not a paid spokesperson, I am just a very bitter old man who happened to have an amazing experience here. And there is not much that I like out there.

Abbey flooring did an excellent job! I had a botched marble flooring job in my bathroom… did some research and came across Abbey Flooring. Gave them a call and Spike was able to quote me over the phone and send someone out to fix the work the very next day. I was very impressed with their workmanship and overall communication. Also, they had very competitive pricing.

Quality workmanship with great customer service. They see difficulties as challenges and not problems. They don’t take shortcuts, and they stand by their work. If there were any imperfections, they will make it right.

This place made my predicament manageable. I was desperately looking to match a granite tile I had to replace a few broken pieces from the side of the island in my kitchen. I only needed one tile and for it to be cut, because I did not have a tile saw.
When I entered they greeted me right away and wanted to help. All the employees were friendly and knowledgeable. The manager knew what tile it was and proceeded to give me the only display tile that they had. They even cut it for me and gave me advice on how to install the tiles at no charge. If that isn’t above and beyond customer service then I don’t know what is!!!
I successfully was able to repair my kitchen island. When I’m ready to redo my kitchen this place is my first stop. Thank you!!!
