When I asked about specific products, the guy at the counter told me that he was in the consulting business and didn’t give away information for free. I will not go back to this store and be treated so poorly. There are plenty of other stores with friendly customer service.

These guys are fantastic. Both the owner and his staff member are honestly such friendly nice guys they deserve a 6^th star. They went way out of their way to help me and educate me on the products rather than trying to hard sell me on everything he had in the store. He was generally concerned about making sure we left with more knowledge than products, because of these amazing guys and their way reasonable prices and happy attitude my patio vegetable and fruit garden will be thriving this year and supply us with so much more yummy food!!! I found this shop a few years back and I am so glad I did. Every time I go here I am completely satisfied with the knowledge, the service and the prices. Definitely the best experiences I have had at any hydro store. The owner and his assistant always take the time to explain in detail what is necessary and what is not. They put together for me a couple of package deals that beat everyone out. Even if I go in for a single item the price is always right. Unlike other shops where I better watch my back. This shop has gained my confidence. I drive 50 miles round trip just to get my supplies.

Great store, clean, organized, great selection, super friendly and helpful staff, great prices and specials, can’t say enough good things. It’s a bit of a drive for me but I will go out of my way to go there any day. Top notch store… highly recommended.

I have decide to become a farmer. While I can’t grow a ton given my location in a condo, I nevertheless hold out the dream of large harvest celebrations where Camilla the Unilocaling Hen, B Bear, and me don our denim and smile with straw hanging from our mouths.
This shop is smaller than others in SD but it makes up for it by having a great selection of items and being friendly. The guy working was super nice and willing to help answer my questions and give me tips. This place really sets itself apart on this alone. I have visited other shops and felt like I had to be in the regulars club to get any attention. Here I was helped out and my newbie questions were answered without any pretentious airs.
They have smart pots, soil, nutes, lights… Everything you need. I picked up some Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil for about $ 15 and some 3 gallon smart pots for about $ 5 each. This isn’t the most cheap I have found these products but what is less than a dollar savings when you can support a local shop and get great advice?
If you are looking to be an urban farmer or even just grow some awesome tomatoes check this place out. They have a great selection, fair prices, and friendly people.

I’ve been in this location two times and both times I have received great customer service. I made this Unilocal account just to write this review. The owner is not only very knowledgable, but friendly as well. I live in RB and would rather make the drive up to Encinitas than go to some of the hydro shops in my area. They advertise heavily on craigslist, and offer some great package deals. If the package isn’t what you need he will build a custom setup for you and give you the same discount. I also like that he doesn’t carry the gimmicky crap a lot of other stores carry (low quality led lights) and never pushes products on you. You go in and tell him what you need and give him your budget and he makes it happen (within reason). Great store and a passionate owner make for a great business! Oh yea free RO water with any purchase, you can’t beat this place!

What a fun place. The owner is super helpful and I love his enthusiasm. Great place for orchid net pots and lots of great gardening stuff.

Just visited today and had the most rewarding experience. The owner guy was super nice and super helpful. He even helped us to figure out how to optimize our NON hydroponic gardening stuff using using products we already owned — now that’s some great service. Thanks again and good luck with the store!

Got a super deal on two 8″ vent Hydrofarm cool tubes. The rest of the prices on other product were «normal hydro» prices.
