Welcome to Eldred’s School of Martial Arts. Located in Escondido, we offer a variety of programs including Jiu Jitsu, Hapkido, Taekwondo and more! We believe that being a Martial Artist is not just learning to kick and punch; it is about becoming the best that you can be in every way.

We are committed to continually enhancing our program to address exercise drills, safety tips and a realistic approach to self-​defense situations. We teach character development through martial arts, which helps students understand the values of courtesy, loyalty, respect, honor, integrity and self control

We strive to provide an environment conducive to positive relationships, fostering self-​discipline, self-​confidence and self-​respect. Our carefully structured programs go far beyond punching, blocking, and kicking. We help you acquire effective self-​defense skills and provide you with a comprehensive, personal development program. It is our goal to raise the quality of life for all of our students in every way possible.

Our instructors have studied and trained for years to qualify as part of the Elder’s Team, and their primary goal is to assist you in being the best you can be. We pledge to make each student’s journey as fun, exciting and educating as possible. We monitor progress closely and walk with students every step of the way. I was on the fence between 4 or 5 stars. There are less expensive schools & programs however my shy, timid son has really loved this school & the instructors. He has toughened up & become more confident as a result of his involvement in this school. He has been attending for a year and I don’t think he could win a fight against a bully, however he has made tremendous improvement in his confidence and assertiveness and that is most important to me. When people say «wow, that is expensive» I say it’s less than $ 15 per class and it’s way cheaper than counseling or tutoring. They have great holiday events for the kids and he wants to continue. I say 5 stars!

Master Randy and Sheila Eldred are about as caring of all their students as can possibly be. For 20 years I have been a student and have personally witnessed and experienced that they not only teach martial arts techniques but more importantly life concepts like patience, loyalty, perseverance and tenacity in developing your mind, body and spirit.
I seem to use these on a daily basis and have seen tremendous character development.
Keep in mind that once you enroll yourself or your child you are entering into a new order of change from what you have been accustomed to. If you are willing to accept this change in your discipline and learn to give respect and not waste your time., you will develop yourself into a person with confidence to accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Studying martial arts at Eldred’s School of Martial Arts has been one of the most influential teachings in my life I grew in confidence, strength and heart. I went way beyond my perceived limitations — mind, body and spirit. I absolutely loved my martial arts training and can’t say enough about this studio and Master Randy Eldred. I felt supported, empowered and ultimately cared for. I trained for 10 years at this studio until moving out of the country. During this time i witnessed hundreds of other students grow and become empowered as a result of the high standards, values and ethics the entire staff at the studio uphold.
The passion that Master Eldred and Sheila Eldred have for their students and the true ‘art’ of martial arts is felt the moment you walk into this studio. If you are ready to become a skilled martial artist, breakthrough your fears, grow as a person, get stronger, meet some amazing people and have a lot of fun in the process then Eldred’s School of Martial Arts is your place to train. PARENTS BEWARE!!! I would not recommend this program to any child or parent. They are outrageous in their pricing for what they teach your children. This company is a scheme and they do not teach your children anything. I think that for 175.00 a month, my son should have learned some form of Martial Arts. The belts they hand their students are paid for by the parents, not earned. It’s like HEY, give us $ 90.00 and then your child will get a belt. What a rip off. I do not know how he has stayed in business for so long. Also, when we signed up our son, he said «do you offer anything that would be beneficial to me so that I can give you a discount». WHAT!!! I am sorry, what was that? Highly inappropriate! My son was exited and I was excited also. My son decided to take up hip-​hop and so we decided to leave. We gave a 30 day notice and guess what!!! They are still pulling payments from my account for tuition and my son has not been in attendance for 2 months, and I signed the 30 days’ notice. When I went to the studio, the lady in the front told me I had to contact the billing company for the return on my payment. I called the company and they told me I had to talk to the studio because the studios already got their money. Again… WHAT!!! I have done what we were instructed to do and now the studio is giving me the run around. NOT A PROFESSIONAL COMPANY IN ANY WAY! This «School of Martial Arts» feeds on naïve parents! Don’t pay the price.

enjoy every part of this martial arts school don’t understand what the two guys above are talking about never had a problem with price or attitude or anything at the place everybody is extremely devoted to helping you and your kids.

My son has been training at Eldred’s for 2 years and is currently in the candidate program for blackbelt. Eldred’s staff are all professional, patient, and wonderful role models for the students they teach. The changes in my son, not only in learning the sport, but in discipline, dedication, and respect have been huge. It’s worth every penny we’ve spent, and I recommend this studio to anyone considering it for their child!

Both my children started at Eldred’s School of Martial Arts when they were five years old. They were here for many years, even I joined, because I could see the wonderful transformation in my children, not only physically but mentally and emotionally. As their bodies got stronger and they were able to break boards, so did their character.

Our son goes to this studio. Everyone there is professional, helpful and is very sincere about teaching the kids and helping them grow, become responsible, respectfuel and to mature. I’ve always wanted my son to learn martial arts. Not only do they teach that, but they really focus on attitude, safety, and responsibility. All interactions with Mr. Eldred and the staff are absolutely awesome. I give them an A+!

I cannot believe this guy is still around. Wow.
As a former student of Eldred, I can attest to the fact that he has been running schemes since back in the 90s.
I was a student of his when he was by the old movie theater, before he moved-​in to the studio by the Boys and Girls Club. I remember how charming he was to my single mother (when his wife wasn’t around) and how exciting Taekwondo seemed as not just a martial art, but a philosophy and even a sort of code of masculinity. Hey, single mothers will take whatever kind of father-​figure they can for their kids. Let’s be fair here.
Essentially, everything Robert C said was true, even back then. Plus…
Your kid isn’t really learning a martial art. He’s learning a martial-​themed sport.
If you want your little boy or girl to learn how to score points in a tourney and yell «Hi YA!» in a convincing and confident manner, then by all means, buy what this pretentious hippy (not sure if he still has the flowing pony tail going on) is selling.
Know, however, that this guy is more of a pay-​per-​stripe «master» and the belt means more that you’re good at memorizing poomsae and paying on time. Ultimately, the black belt does not mean your kid is actually going to be able to defend himself in an actual fight.
I should know, I personally beat the crap out of 3 of his black belts when Eldred thought he would stack the odds to teach me a lesson. Whoops. It wasn’t long after that Eldred doubled the price for me personally and by then my mom had had enough.
Good luck, Eldred. Children and naïve parents might be easy to impress, but it’s really only a matter of time before someone humiliates you in your own dojo, if it hasn’t happened already.

My family and I have been with Mr. Eldred for four years and I have to say I would absolutely NOT train anywhere else. Mr. Eldred has built confidence, perseverance, discipline, and loyalty to my family. My daughter started when she was five and to this day loves to go. The feel in this studio is very positive! It’s one big family!
