I was interested in a Porsche Cayman S being sold in NorCal and noticed on CarFax it was serviced at Eurospec with a phone number listed. I decided to call the number and ended up speaking to Tom. After looking up the Cayman’s information he was able to tell me everything that was done to it and quite a bit more (the engine was replaced). Although I didn’t actually do business with Tom, his honesty saved me thousands of dollars by using the information as a bargaining tool. I highly recommend this shop if you’re looking for an honest Porsche mechanic that is extremely knowledgeable and friendly to work with.

I haven’t even been to the shop yet (taking my 2004 Cayenne Turbo — 54k mile baby) in there on Monday. To date, my Cayenne has only been to the Porsche dealer (Miramar), but after being shocked by price quoted just to perform 60k checkup and a the price to fix a minor «key an eye on it» item, I searched the internet for a shop to start taking my Porsche. I found several on Unilocal,and then just Google searched for confirmation. I called a few and even made an appointment at another place, but after talking to Tom, I am going to Eurospec.
Tom is Porsche factory trained and worked at Pioneer Porsche (same place I bought mine) from 2003 to 2010, so he knows these cars. He spoke to me for over an hour about the things that typically go wrong with my vehicle and things he’ll be looking for, but assured me that my V8 and transmission were designed to last (with maintenance).
I will update my review after seeing Tom in action, but right now, I am very comfortable giving Tom 5 stars for knowledge, customer satisfaction, and honesty.

Tom is the most shockingly honest and helpful mechanic I have ever met. Simply a kind and generous man. I recently bought a used BoxsterS and the check engine light came on after only driving it 2k miles. Took it to Tom based on reviews here on Unilocal,he was everything you read about on here. He spent an hour with me telling me all about my car, answering all my newbie questions, and diagnosing the issue my car had (turned out to be very minor) and then he didn’t even charge me. WHAT!!! He has a customer FOR LIFE in me. The best gift was, this is my first Porsche and I’ve been a little nervous about what I actually bought, after my visit with Tom I feel free to fall in love with my little blue beauty. Thanks Tom!

Tom is a great guy and has a terrific shop specializing in Porsches. He took the time to explain small details about my car and what did or didn’t need done. His honesty, passion for his work and concern for fair customer treatment are exactly what I have been looking for in an independent Porsche mechanic in San Diego County. I couldn’t be happier and will consider him and Eurospec my ‘go-​to’ shop for any type of service my 911 may need in the future.

I have the 2014 Porsche Cayman S and called the dealer to see if they could eliminate the cheesy «beep beep» it makes when I lock the car with the remote. They said they know how, but factor dictates they can’t. They referred me to Tom. He said he wasn’t sure if he could or not but offered to take a look for free but told me to try some things first. So off I went to try them with no luck. I come back and there’s a voicemail from him waiting with an answer. He told me the dealer could do it and he even notified them that they can and how. WHAT!!! This guy is good and not only that, thoughtful, courteous and responsive. And with that I must announce that the dealer just lost my annual yearly service :)

Tom is great, very straightforward guy and very honest.
I asked him for an oil change and he actually advised against it given my specific circumstances. Most take the money and run and Tom gets that slow and steady wins the race.
He’s got a consistent new customer and I own two modern Porsches.
As Arnold would say, «I’ll be back».

Hard to find honest and helpful folks in the car repair business. He is a genuine guy that outlines the issues that need immediate attention and items that you could take care of now or wait on. Never pushes you into doing anything extra — just options. Solid service from Eurospec. I will only be going here for my porsche service.

I felt like Tom did a great job working on my 2007 Porsche Cayman S. He was the fastest to return my phone call as I was stranded 400 miles away on the side of the road. He talked me through a quick diagnostic to determine the smoke pouring out of my car was not engine failure.
I had a long tow into his shop and in 4 hours the faulty air oil seperator replaced and he spent some time showing me all sorts of cool things about my Cayman I never knew, such as how to access the engine and that the rear hatch actually opens to a «service position».
Looking around the shop I saw he knew all generations of Porsche and being a former tech at Porsche SD I knew he knew all the latest water cooler, computer controlled cars.
He went out of his way and even caught a billing mistake (a different customer was in for same issue but had far more clean up than mine since I shut my car off at the first sign of smoke). I didn’t even catch the mistake but he called me back and refunded me the difference and apologized, he is a real stand up guy.
Tom was the first mechanic to touch the car out of warranty and will likely be the last.

I never write reviews, but I feel compelled to give a 5 star review to Tom and Eurospec. As summarized in the previous reviews, no one can come close to his knowledge, honesty and value. Because of him, I decided to keep my 2004 Porsche Cayenne, and have confidence it will be taken care of expertly, and at a superior value by him. I only wish his shop were closer to Carlsbad where I live!

Needed work done on Porsche… something small… called dealership… required appointment and had to be next week… wanting to get it done right away… sometimes one just gets an itch to get things done… called around… found this shop… very helpful and extremely knowledgeable… did work same day… lower price as well… though with Porsche that probably goes without saying…

I don’t write a lot of reviews but Tom deserves it. I’ve been going to him since he was located off Nordahl in San Marcos. My ’01 Boxster goes to him for anything that’s over my head. I can do an oil change, brakes, cleaned and replaced the MAF, and even changed the AOS. The big stuff I give to him. He never, and I mean never, tries to oversell me or gouge me on the costs. All the reviews about him being honest and having integrity are exactly right on.
I was just there the other day to pick up my car and he was with a customer with a Carrera 2. The man saw me waiting there as they were working on his car. The first thing out of this guy’s mouth was, «This guy is the best. He just saved my ass. I’m bringing all my work to him.» That just about says it all.
I may own a Boxster but I’m not rich and Tom makes sure that I still can afford repairs. This guy is paying it forward all the time. Having dealt with some really crappy mechanics over the years, I highly recommend Tom for all your Porsche needs.

Tom, a factory trained Porsche mechanic, really knows his stuff and only does Porches. Well worth the drive from Leucadia. Very generous with his advice, and he explains his proposed solutions for the repair. All this and a very fair price.

I do business with Tom on a regular basis, he is an honest and knowledgable Porsche technician. He works hard for all of his customers. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the area :-)

Outstanding service from Tom. My Carrera 4S had to be towed because it would not start. He took care of the towing, repair of variety of minor issues and scheduled maintenance. Tom suggested replacing the tires, after I agreed he took care of tires and alignment as well. I was kept informed about all the work and costs, all services were more than reasonably priced and performed with quality. Tom is very trustworthy and experienced, knows Porsche cars inside out and will give you a straight answer.

Eurospec is by far the best Porsche service shop I have ever been to. Tom is the best specialist and is completely fair and honest. I have taken my car for services about 4 times and each time he does a complete and fantastic job. He educates me as to why he is fixing certain things and what to expect in the future. He has even provided me with picture print outs so that I can see what is going on with my car! I HIGHLY reccomend Eurospec and am SO pleased that I have found a very trustworthy and skilled mechanic. THANKS TOM!

I used Tom (Owner of Eurospec) to inspect a Porsche 911 I was interested in buying 2000+ miles from my home. He was quick to repsond and inspected the auto right away. He spent 20 to 30 minutes with me on the phone giving me as many details as I wanted after he obviously spent several hours with the prospective purchase.
He also supplied a written report via email. His enthusiasm for Porsches
was evident in his voice and thoroughness in his inspection was refreshing. His honesty was evident even over the phone. Spending close to $ 50M sight unseen is not easy. He eased my worries. My only disappointment is my Porsche
will be back here in Atlanta and I will have to find another mechanic and shop to service it. If I lived anywhere near Escondido, I’d be using Eurospec for all my service.

I don’t write too many reviews, but definitely felt the need to give Tom & EuroSpec my full endorsement.
I’ve had many cars over the years and have dealt with many different auto service shops. I have to admit I had never met one I trusted… until now.
Tom is a stand-​up guy with the type of integrity & honesty you probably will not find in any other service shop, whether it’s Porsche or other. He’ll diagnose your Porsche and will give you the diagnosis straight up — no shenanigans or tricks to get you to overpay.
Don’t take your Porsche to the dealer or some other supposed specialist. You’ll be happy you didn’t. Enough so that I drive from Carmel Valley just to take my Cayenne here.

This review is long overdue… I took my Porsche last December to have my front brakes replaced. The dealership told me it would cost around $ 1600 to replace… Tom serviced my brakes at a fraction of the cost! I am taking in my Cayenne in for a 40k scheduled check and once again Tom gave me an estimate that is much better than that of the dealer!
Great honest and reliable service along with a great price… why go anywhere else?

Such a breath of fresh air… relative to the dealer experience. My impression of Tom is that he’s an honest guy with integrity… that legitimately knows his stuff. that doesn’t overcharge you just because you bought a Porsche. What more could you really want in a Porsche mechanic???
Was ready to sell my aging Cayenne because I was worried about service costs. What can I say… I’m keeping it because I found Eurospec right here in my back yard.

I’ve been to a few mechanics and scoped out the Porshce dealers when I got my Cayman S, but Tom at Eurospec really knows his stuff. Honest guy and will give you details of what is wrong with your car or what needs to be done. I went in for an oil change and was looking to get spark plugs and a few other things done. But when he looked into it, he felt that I didn’t need it and told me that we could wait. Most other places would just have done it and charged me. Also, every time something is done, he goes over with you in full detail on what was done so that you have full confidence in your car and the fixes that were mad. Whoever had my car before, put the wrong oil filter. Instead of fixing it and charging me, Tom went over, told me the issue and broke down what could have happened.
In addition, he’s very knowledgable of Porsche’s and all their little bugs and features. I’ve never met someone so passionate about Porshce’s. Last thing, he won’t nickel and dime you. He’s about doing great work and doing what is needed. And all his prices are almost half of what the dealers would be and his skill set is twice of any mechanic you can find.
I drive all the way from San Diego to see this guy because I know he’s fair with all his pricing and truly does care about your car. Whereas everywhere else, you’re just one of many cars. Thanks Tom! I highly recommend him if you have a Porsches. And he has all the same tools for electronics that the dealers have.
