A-OK. It is what it is. A cheap burger joint with a pretty decent weekend buffet. Staff is pretty nice and service is usually pretty efficient. Food quality can be a bit inconsistent. We have had issues with the basics… eggs, toast, etc. For the price though you really can’t beat it. Reasonable prices with food that is «pretty ok.» The one draw back? It isn’t always clean. When they are busy it seriously can look like a tornado hit it. Stuff all over the tables, crayons on the floor, just kind of messy. Again though, for the price, there really isn’t much to complain about.

I remember seeing Big Boy on TV and always wanted to try it and the time has finally come for me to try it! The waitress who served me was very nice so that’s a plus for customer service. I ordered the Super Big Boy, fries and onion rings. The burger is very good. The fries is pretty decent. The onion ring however, I’ve had better. You can either dine in or go to the drive-thru. This place is like a fast food restaurant, but with services, unlike your typical McDonald’s. I will definitely come back here again if I’m ever in the area.

I got to Dayton late at night and this place was near my hotel. I grew up going to Bob’s Big Boy and remembered how much I used to love it so I was actually looking forward to going. The food was very disappointing, nothing like my childhood memories. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, fries and soda to go. They forgot my soda and the fries were so greasy there was at least a tablespoon of grease at the bottom of the fry bag. The chicken in the wrap was actually okay, what little amount there was anyway had a nice crunch. The tortilla was tasteless and the ranch dressing was so runny, it made the bottom of the tortilla soggy and the whole thing just fell apart. My memories of Bob’s Big Boy were dashed in this one experience…

My husband and I went through the drive thru and we’re not very impressed with the food. Being 7months pregnant I have cravings and for the past two weeks I have been dying for some onion rings. My husband finally took me as a treat for having testing done for the day. We came up the the speaker and had to repeat our order twice because the order taker didn’t understand. We arrived at the window that was open slightly and heard the man at the window yell back to tell the crew he needed onion rings dropped but that he already had fries. My husband and I both knew that meant his fries weren’t going to be very fresh if they were at all. When we received our order we were less than pleased. His fries were slightly warm but cold on the inside and my onion rings looked so dark(like the fryer oil was old) and were either nothing but breading or no breading at all where the onion was hard or burnt. Half of it was inedible and what was had no flavor. I have never had onion rings like that in all the years we have being going there.

Had the breakfast buffet. It was just ok. But service was fantastic. And endless coffee. Always a plus.

There are Big Boy restaurants all over the country and many are average. The people at this location make all the difference. They care. I’ve been here probably 5 times now, and they do things well, generally. A few times, the food has been just warm. Even though it still has good taste, I think it should be reasonably warmer than room temperature. Still, it’s Big Boy and I don’t expect too much. My earliest memories of Big Boy were going with my parents, sitting in the car, ordering through a speaker(as if we were going to see a movie), and a waitress hooking a tray of food onto the window of the car. It was mostly about atmosphere. Since those days are gone, we’re left with the food and it’s not exciting, nor is it horrible. The Swiss Miss(rye bread, swiss cheese and burger patty – like a patty melt) is what I usually get. The Big Boy sauce isn’t for me any more than Big Mac sauce or the spread at In-n-Out is. People with fond memories will like this one because the service is good.

We came here for the breakfast bar, which is mediocre at best. The doughnuts were mangled, and unappealing. The value is ok, but I’m just not a big fan.
