Gigi’s Cupcakes of Beavercreek

I purchased the strawberry cupcake. It was nothing to rave about. Nothing special to it. The cupcake itself was not as moist as I would’ve liked for it to be. Too much cream cheese icing. The price is very steep for one cupcake. I just bought 4 delicious cupcakes (look at my previous review) for a little over the amount I spent on this one. Customer service was great while in the store.

The BEST gluten free cupcakes I’ve ever had! It’s hard to find bakeries that do GF so it’s nice to see they have these everyday.

Love the cupcakes here! We stop in whenever we’re in town. Very good!

Everytime Im in Beavercreek on business trips, I always stop in at Gigi’s and buy a couple of cupcakes. I was craving chocolate cupcakes. I ordered 2, Double Stuff and Midnight Madness.
The selection changes daily. Each day of the week a different combination of cupcakes are made. If you want to try Gigi’s, I suggest checking the menu on the day you plan to stop in. I ordered the Double stuff which is an Oreo cookie themed cupcake, its made only on Tuesdays. Midnight Madness is made every day of the week. These are gourmet cupcakes, so you will spend a few $$$ here.
I have not ever had a bad experience here. The staff is always friendly and professional. I get what I pay for, so that keeps me coming back. If you stop in late in the day, the selection gets smaller, they dont replace what runs out. So try to get here earlier in the day, if you can.

Yum! I was pleased to find this gem in the heart of Beavercreek Ohio. They have a great selection of cupcakes, from chocolate chip cookie dough to red velvet to candy bar crunch. I tried the smores and chocolate with cream cheese frosting cupcakes. I would get the chocolate with cream cheese frosting again for sure, it was delicious but a little heavy on the frosting .
If you sign up for their reward program (simply give them your phone number for promotional messages) you earn a free cupcake on your next visit !

My husband and I tried this place today. I tried the birthday surprise and it was really good! Great icing flavor and the cake was moist and not dry. My husband tried the double stuffed one and I didn’t hear any complaints :)

I needed a sweet treat to end a hectic Monday and stumbled upon Gigi’s on my way home from work… and I’m so glad I did! These cupcakes (or should I say mini cakes because they are so big) were just what I needed!
I agree with other reviews that there is a lot of frosting on top, but I like it that way so this was a bonus rather than a negative to me. Frosting was smooth and creamy, and the cake was moist and delicious. I tried the wedding cake and cookie dough… wonderful with surprise yummy fillings in the middle.
Gigi’s also has a rewards program. Free cupcakes for my loyalty? Yes, please!

I love cupcakes. Gigi has the cupcakes in Dayton!!! The place is nice and the people that work there are really nice.

Delicious!!! I’m a big cupcake fan and I make my mission to stop on every shop I can when traveling. I can honestly say that this shop has the best frosting I’ve seen so far in cupcakes shops. I got the wedding cake and the Princess and they were just perfect for me!

These cupcakes are worth every penny! They’re bigger than regular cupcakes, and are piled high with amazing, unique frosting. The cake itself is moist and flavorful. I only regret not being able to eat more!

Now before you side-​eye me for only giving Gigi’s three stars, please keep this very important factor in mind: I do not care for cupcakes.
The cupcakes are undoubtedly delicious. I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t particularly like cupcakes– they are fabulous and the decorations are super cute and creative. There’s so many different varieties to chose from, so almost anyone can be satisfied. Most of them have a TON of icing, so if you’re a big icing person like me, that’s definitely a bonus. If not, you could always give the icing to someone else.
So while I don’t have any formal complaints about Gigi’s, I do not love the place the way a lot of others seem to. They’re good and a nice treat every once in a while, but since I’m not a cupcake person, I don’t «get» why a lot of people rave about Gigi’s. So, since I can’t really muster the enthusiasm, I’ll give the place a three: I like it, but not as much as others do.
Now if you ARE a cupcake person and like the idea of cupcakes with three-​inch icing and cutesy decorations, you will probably love Gigi’s. As a side bonus, Gigi’s is located in the same strip mall as a Penn Station, a Hotheads, and a Starbucks. I’ve known some people who will buy lunch at one of the restaurants or grab a coffee from Starbucks and then get a cupcake at Gigi’s for dessert. I’ve never tried it, but if that’s your thing, then that’s definitely an idea for a day out.
Also, good news for Wright State students: they accept Flex Dollars! (Or at least they did when I went to school there.)

I am Not a cup cake person but my wife wanted to try them. The Young Lady at the counter was just the nicest, very knowledgable & Helpful. Since we have never been there trying to decide on a cupcake with all they had to select from and I almost forgot we walked in at 5:53 and they close at 6:00. And she still took her time with us I didn’t feel rushed or I didn’t get any Attitude we was at the GiGis col. Colonel Glenn Highway. The cupcakes was actually better than I expected and I’m Not a cake /​cupcake person I’m a pie Guy. I would rate them 1 – 5 5 being the best and 1 being I had to spit it out I would rate it on …texture (5)

I would Totally recommend them and the Other Thing I Like is they give veterans a discount. Way to go. GIGI’s all around thumbs up.

Worst customer service. I had a coupon to receive a free cupcake for an order I prepaid for online. I found the coupon right before going to pick up my order. I asked the employee if I could add the free cupcake to my order. She said no because she would have to cancel the order and and start over. She also said there was no way for her to just give a cupcake without accounting for it by applying it to an order. WHAT BUSINESS MAKES A STATEMENT LIKE THAT? Are customers really an inconvenience to you? I called the manager and he did not know what to say besides «well, I guess next time you are here, I’ll just give you a free cupcake since it is just ONE cupcake we are talking about.» He was trying to ridicule me over my concern! I emailed corporate and they never responded. I HAVE NEVER WENT BACK TO THIS STORE AFTER THAT AND NEVER WILL.

I just had the chocolate something or other. The most overwhelming part of that experience was the amount of frosting. I think the ratio should be 2 to 1 cake to frosting at best. This was 1 to 1 with an mound of frosting. I like a good frosting but I actually just cut half of the frosting off the top. It would have been impossible to eat otherwise. Cake was decent moist but nothing memorable. The frosting was good, but again nothing to write home about. I’ve had cupcakes that I would find myself eating one after the other, this is not one of them. I will wait to eat another…

Last day in the Dayton area and I finally made it to Gigi’s. I walked in a half an hour before they closed so I knew the pickings would be slim. They had a box of mini cupcakes, half chocolate half vanilla. I asked if I could buy just the vanilla ones since I can’t have chocolate. She told me no, they come all together. So I walked out without any cupcakes… not happy

I’m a big fan of icing and Gigi’s delivers with their generous icing portions! These are really good cupcakes and big in size, like Fat America big. Not the best cupcakes I’ve ever had (that honor is reserved for a bakery in SC), but they are pretty darn delish.

I came to this place because it opened the same time I was graduating from college. Therefore I thought, what better reward than to get a cupcake for myself? I go in to get my cupcake and it takes me a while to look through the whole menu of cupcakes for the season. It was a tough choice but I finally picked one of the favorites of the season and for the price it was a bit much for a cupcake but it was good. I didn’t care much for the frosting but the cake itself was sweet enough for me.

The variety is unmatched in comparison to ordinary bakeries in the area. My only complaint, which actually applies to almost all bakeries, is the over-​whelming amount of frosting that they put on the cupcakes. In many cases there is more frosting than there is cake. This is just the trend I suppose.
I have only had a couple of different flavors but both were great.

A very mediocre experience at best. I love to bake and I love to eat even more so you can imagine my disappointment when I bit into a cupcake that was just so-​so.
The whole experience did not start off on a particularly stellar note due to the unenthusiastic customer service. The joint was being manned by a couple of 16 year olds that just did not have outstanding people skills. My questions seemed to be more of a burden than anything else. I thought they were pretty basic like «what is the difference between the wedding cake and birthday cake cupcakes?». The answer? «I don’t know I think just the pink frosting.» hmmm isn’t that something you should know? Perhaps it would have been easier for her to direct me to the lovely flyer that they have that shows a picture of each cupcake, what’s in it and what days they serve them. Very handy!
I was disappointed to learn that they only sell the minis by the dozen. Economically that does not make sense. You could charge $ 1.75 for a little one and have people buy a few of them to taste different flavors. There is a bigger profit margin and you get people hooked on various flavors. At the very least if they don’t like one of the flavors (as was in my case) there is still hope they will like another and return. Alas this is not the case here.
After my hopes of trying multiple minis were dashed I decided on the chocolate salted caramel. Much to my disappointment it was not much better than a grocery store bakery cupcake. The cake itself was pretty moist with a nice texture. The frosting (my favorite part… and no fellow Unilocalers you can never have too much!!!) was pretty bad. It was almost granular. I know it had to retain shape but there needed to be a higher fat ratio. I am no Martha Stewart but it just was not right. I did like the chocolate on top though. The salt was perfect and that part was delicious.
Will I be back? Likely not. It wasn’t horrible but not something worth returning for.

Can I get some cake with that frosting?
There was SO much frosting on the cupcakes– i.e. the frosting was as big as the cake part and the frosting was really dense which made the cupcakes top heavy.
The red velvet cake was ok. I liked that it wasn’t too sweet but it didn’t really taste much like red velvet though. There was also some weird filling.
I don’t remember what the other flavors were but the frosting on all the cupcakes seemed to be the same just with different toppings. Some had sprinkles, others chocolate chips, etc. But the same dense frosting. The cake part of 1 tasted like pound cake and the other was chocolate. Both weren’t bad. Like the red velvet, they were sweet, but not too sweet. But not the best cupcakes I’ve ever had.
