Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Fallbrook Downtown

The check in was a breeze. The room is nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable the only thing is that they do not have comforters on the bed so I was pretty cold until I turn on heater. I had problems with the flat-​screen it kept saying no signal. (no! I did bother asking for assistance, I was a bit tired anyway) They walls were a bit thin. I could hear the gentleman in the next room talking. At first I thought it was people outside. (but it could have been that the gentleman talked loud too)

The price wasn’t too bad and I probably would stay here again during the next Wine festival.

A nice hotel for the value. Don’t expect breakfast though. The drinks are basically flavored water. Prepackaged Danish and banana do not constitute breakfast. Go across the street to the café. They also will charge you for trying to check in before 2pm. But there are plenty of options for stuff around it.

The value at this place is amazing!
Over the last few years I’ve had a lot of work in Fallbrook. There aren’t many hotels in town. I used to book rooms in Oceanside or Temecula/​Murrietta but that morning drive was too much. I tried this place almost three years ago and now it’s my go to.
The owners are really nice. The rooms are decent sized with HUGE bathrooms. Stay in 221 if you want a room with a large bathroom, a seating area (or small 2^nd bedroom) and a balcony. The cable is good and internet is decent. There is plenty of parking and it’s right on Mission so it’s close to everything. On top of all this goodness, the prices are crazy. I bill my clients for travel and I’ve had a few of them call me to double check the numbers! Lol
As I was checking out I saw them putting in new tubs and tile in the bathroom. I’m looking forward to staying here again.

Wonderful rooms! Very comfortable beds and everything was very clean. If you are in the area, perfect place to stay. Manny the manager, is very personable and accommodating. For the price, we were very pleased and impressed compared to other surrounding hotels we stayed in. Highly recommended. Also pet friendly!

The location isn’t bad. It’s pretty easy to find. But it is a good 10 minutes away from I-​15, through some slow winding roads.
The staff was friendly at check-​in. No problem with the reservation.
The room… well — not so good. The smell wasn’t great. Just smelled like old, wet carpet. The dresser was missing a drawer, but they tried to cover about a ¹⁄₃ of it with a laundry bag. The bathroom door was broken and the lock didn’t work. The TV worked, but every time you turned it on you had to get up and go to the TV and manually flip through the inputs that reset every time you turned it off.
Got hot at night, so we wanted to turn the fan on, but couldn’t because it had a very loud knocking noise.
We only stayed one night, and we paid about $ 75. For that price I don’t expect too much, but I did expect more than this.

The husband and wife who run this motel are very friendly make you feel at home. Really great place to stay while in Fallbrook. Everything is clean as you expect it to be nothing ever dirty here. Super clean rooms as you expect. Close to restaurants not too far from the 15 freeway. Just a really great place to stay at.

My girlfriend and i always enjoy booking a room here. Customer service is great! The receptionists are always helpful and welcoming. The rooms are always clean and neat. The prices are very affordable for the quality we receive.

Best place to relax and stay for a moment before work. I’ve been to a lot of motel/​hotels in the area and Econo Lodge is by far the best in my book for FALLBROOK sleep. Thanks to Manny for the luxurious stay and for his great attitude.

Appears to be clean but this place is lacking so much on so many levels… bathroom was nice n big rest of room is very small. When I got outta that car I was greeted by that smell of weed not exactly something that puts this place in a good light also noticed that power outlets are few and far between. Wi fi sucks u can forget about watching Netflix or Hulu in these rooms guess if u really want to play the game of cheap this place is for u but I will prob be elsewhere next time

Here is the deal, I am going to do two reviews. One will be for the staff and one for the hotel itself.
So for the staff:
Manny was really nice. He checked us in and because we were going to have a VERY late night (we were working on a show in town) we asked for a late check out. While this is not normal he took pity on us and let us have extra time to rest which was a Godsend. He was very personable, nice and help us out… I give him 5 stars
Now the room:
It was not the greatest room in the world– that much is true. There was someone hair on our towels, the bed was not that comfortable and there is only one small window next to the bathroom (if you stay on one side of the hotel) But the plus side– It had a fridge and microwave. So I would say if you are using your room for thing other than sleep and a shower this place may not be for you.

Ok, I wish I had read the Unilocal reviews before booking this room on Expedia. I can’t believe I didn’t…Yelp Elite failure.
Let me start off by saying, I will NEVER stay here again. I was almost tempted (for not being exhausted and a non-​refundable booking I would have) to leave and keep on driving.
In the initial stages of our Memorial Day weekend Cali road trip planning, we were bringing our dogs. We all know accommodation options that allow pets is limited. I used Expedia to find the grand deal of $ 169 per night… for what this turned out to be… I got ripped.
The location is easy to find with a small parking lot. The front office is directly to the right of the parking. No problems with the check-​in and finding our reservation. The hotel seems to be family owned and operated. The lady at the front desk was nice.
So, the room. What made the first impression… the smell. I still can’t put my finger on it… it’s a cross between grease, Indian seasonings and a musty odor. Spraying my perfume didn’t make a dent. It’s been 5 hours in the room and my nose still hasn’t adjusted. Not being dramatic, seriously it is that bad.
The pics on their official website aren’t accurate. The furniture is worn and cheap. There are 2 upholstered chairs that hell will freeze over before I sit in them. The bed and pillows aren’t comfortable… proof it’s 2:55 am and I’m writing this review. We had to call the front because of the noise above us. After about 3 hours it stopped… in other words, the front wasn’t very persuasive.
So, to conclude, Fallbrook might not be the pit stop next time. It might be worth stopping in Temecula or driving on. Just whatever you do… don’t stop at this Econo Lodge.

Nice big comfy king size bed, has a fridge n microwave, flat screen plasma. all I needs is my meds n cookie

Stayed there alone on 9÷13÷12 visiting daughter and marine husband. Chose this place from the so so reviews on here. Not much of a choice in Fallbrook that is affordable. Anyway I took that bed apart looking for bedbugs when I arrived. Nothing. Clean. Then again when I went to bed. Clean again. I know they come out late at night when your sleeping in the bed. Powdery stuff on headboard that I noticed when I got in bed told me that they’ve prob had a problem with bugs before. But it was 11pm and I was tired. I got up at 7. Went outside on the patio. Stayed in room 101 right next to their laundry room. Nice. Anyway get back in sitting on bed talking to daughter on the bed, and there it was, on the sheet. A live bed bug. I smacked it about 30 times with my phone before it died. Took a picture of it too! Told the Indian lady at front desk about it. All she says was sorry ma’am. Told her I’d leave a review. No refund offered, but I did sleep all night. Other than that the room was nice and kind of clean. Bathroom counter didn’t seem clean. It’s granite so hard to tell if it’s clean unless you actually clean it. Anyway I won’t be staying in another motel again. It was 108 in Fallbrook and no AC at daughters place so kinda had too. Stay here if you don’t mind bugs. THEY CREEP ME OUT!

I came to the Fallbrook/​Pala area to do business and decided to stay here after calling a few different places for prices and checking out their reviews. I used to go to a Best Western in Oceanside but they changed to a Super 8 and became aweful.
Here at the EconoLodge I was pleasantly suprised! The Fallbrook EconoLodge is clean, cozy, and peaceful. The front desk staff is a family operation but they are very friendly and helpful. The rooms actually look like the pictures!
The continental breakfast is very basic; just cereal and toast and breakfast claws.
Overall, a great place.

I made online reservations to stay for three nights then a couple of hours later a good friend of mine talked me out of going there which is this coming weekend so I tried to call to cancel with an agent who spoked broken English and didn’t honor my request to cancel my reservation and wasn’t friendly!

The night before our wedding in Fallbrook, my now husband and I rented two suites here and stuffed me and the bridesmaids in one and him and the groomsmen in another. It wasn’t the most fantastic experience but it did the job. The in-​room amenities are few: shit coffee, iron, ironing board, microwave, tv. Oddly enough there were no lamps near any of the desks or tables, which made homework difficult for my university student bridesmaid. This is a pet-​friendly hotel ($ 15/​night/​pet) so the couch in our suite was pretty torn up. We didn’t really care since we were distracted by hair and makeup and trips to Village Taco. My husband said his suite was bizarre because the room was flat to a certain point and then sloped downward. Odd. Continental breakfast was cheap but it did the job: two types of cereal, instant oatmeal, Svenhard’s variety pack of pastries, white and wheat toast, and a carafe each of milk and OJ. Of course there was more shit coffee but it was brewed stronger and there was real milk so I drank it.
In short, if a bed and four walls is all you need then this is an excellent choice. I would stay here again because the price is right and it’s near Village Taco.

I booked this room on
for a wedding. It is about 20 mins away from Temecula.
This is a cheap and clean alternative to the other hotels in the area. It is a motel, but it in no way is dingy or smelly. It is in a very nice area. If I should ever find myself in the Fallbrook area again I will stay here. There was a little bit of a mixup with my reservations (which was my fault, not theirs) and Manny Patel was very accommodating and reasonable.

STAFF SERVICE:
So I came here for a wedding. Checked in late — around midnight — was given a room that reeked of stale cigarettes. Was too exhausted to ask for a room change. Went the next morning to ask for a non-​smoking room. Was told that the motel was «completely booked» all the nights that I was going to be there, (funny — only a few cars in the lot). Unable to cancel without eating the entire cost of the weekend.
Miraculously, there was a «last minute cancellation» 2 minutes after I walked away. However, was told that non-​smoking room cost more — an extra $ 10/​night. Did I want a room upstairs or downstairs? (Apparently, not so booked after all.)
Other friends had similar issues with «last minute cancellations» that made their room request fillable.
So… conclusion: hotel staff lied to get more money, and not very good liars at that because of inconsistency.
ROOM:
1^st room was awful. No escaping the smell.
Walls are super thin. We heard all the noises outside & next door, so if you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs.
Random times when cleaning staff would work — after the first night, the vacuum went off either upstairs or next door at 6:30 AM!!!
Towels are thin, small, & scratchy.
No conditioner, just shampoo and bar soap.
There is a small refrigerator & a microwave in the rooms.
AC was fine; internet was good; didn’t really watch TV.
BREAKFAST:
Basic continental — cereal, toast, coffee, orange juice.
There is a nice café across the street that serves pretty good breakfast.

Like the first reviewer, we stayed here for a wedding, as a cheaper alternative to the golf resort that was the actual wedding venue. It’s nothing fancy, but clean, basic accommodations for a short trip.
This is a 2-​story, 36-​room motel. No elevators to the second floor that I could see, so if you don’t want to haul your suitcases up the cement stairs, ask for a room on the 1^st floor. They apparently did a renovation in 2009, and it does look nicer than your typical budget hotel — our room had two easy chairs and a coffee table, and the furnishings were tasteful, if basic.
We checked in very late, around midnight, and had no problems. The room has an ironing board and iron, a (weak) hairdryer, and dresser. No mini-​fridge or luggage rack that I saw. The toiletries are no-​frills (packets of shampoo and conditioner, not bottles) and the bed had some very sad, very limp, very thin little pillows. Towels were thin and scratchy, your typical motel fare. BUT the A/​C kicked ass, which is obviously the most important feature!
The «continental» breakfast included some individually bagged bear claws and danishes, a couple of cereal dispensers, some fruit, and some granola bars and cracker packets, along with coffee and OJ. We grabbed some snacks for the road because we were getting an early start, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to come down for this breakfast.
Overall, it was just fine and everything that I needed a basic, no-​frills motel to be for a weekend trip. I’d stay here again if I ever went to Fallbrook… though I can’t imagine why I would.

We stayed here one night for a wedding. The room was clean and well-​provisioned with an iron & a blow dryer. The innkeeper was super friendly and happy to help us in any way he could. The inn is basic, but I would be happy staying here again if I’m in Fallbrook.
