Horrible service. The Indian guy there during the day was unfriendly and clear he just wanted my credit card. Couldn’t understand, and he didn’t care. Paper thin walls. A shower that didn’t work… my first night just had to do a sponge bath. Also, the air conditioning box blows right down on the bed close to it… would get sick if I left that on all night. Really bad place, no service, had to wear ear plugs to drown out the neighbors noise.

Reserved the «handicap» accessible room for my wife & I when we went down for my step-​daughters wedding. When I called to confirm the room, the manager stated that since we were bringing a pet we would have to move to the «pet friendly room», manager wanted to move us to the pet friendly room as we had listed a pet on the reservation. I asked why and he stated that it was due to a possible «allergy» issue for future guests. I stated that in that light there was no difference between my dog and a service dog staying in the room and he agreed as long as I was willing to pay a daily «cleaning» fee. During our stay we went to use the fold down seat in the shower, which broke free from the wall dumping the user on the floor!!! As I know something about these kind of things, I noticed that the seat had not been anchored into any wood at all, just the tiles and plaster board. There were also signs of mold due to lack of sealant around the mounting brackets. When I told management about what had happen, he asked if anyone had been hurt (thankfully not) and then just apologized. No offer of a refund or anything!
Upon returning home, I completed the online survey that was emailed to me giving very low or negative review. Here is the response I received:

Wow! Obviously a «form» letter not written by a human. Also, their «continental» breakfast was just some plastic wrapped pastries (like those from a vending machine) and some day (or two) old fruit. Well, we will NEVER stay at another Roadway Inn or affiliated facility, that is for sure. Hope this helps others.

Review of Rodeway Inn March 19, 2016.
Room comes with pre-​sliced beat up loveseat, dry wall patches through out, worn out chairs, and a king bed that feels like sleeping on an enormous sack of potatoes covered in questionable sheets and a comforter from 1982.
We upgraded to the «Serial killer package», complete with random bags of who knows what that were dropped /​lowered down onto the patio by the occupants of the room above and the sounds of running, jumping, and patio doors sliding back and forth from 1am until 7am. Don’t let this deal get away, just $ 130 for one night.

RUDE. The guy at the front desk didn’t even say «hello» to me after I said «hi» TWICE. After asking the reason for his blatant attitude towards me, he responded by saying that I looked «suspicious». I’m 5’2″, 128 pounds. I couldn’t tell if he was racist or just insistent on being rude. It never got better. I left and came back closer to check my check-​in time and still no «hello», just an «I need your credit card & license». I was, at the very least, expecting an apology. The pillows felt like they were stuffed with old jeans and there was a spider in the bathroom tub. I barely slept. There are only about three hotels in the area. Give yourself some peace of mind and stay somewhere else.

The management refused to even refund my room cost, I had to drive two and a half hours home at 1AM. I finally contacted the corporate headquarters and they interceded and forced the management to offer a refund to me, If I would drive back to Fallbrook, two and half hours, to pick it up in person. These people are unprofessional, rude, concomitant, and barely speak English. Please Please Please stay away from this hell hole. They dont deserve to be in any hospitality type of business

Checked in at night, and the man at the desk was very nice.
As far as the room, it was laid out well and clean. However, there were a few bugs; both in the shower and on the ceiling of the room itself. I don’t know why, but the water in the shower would switch between hot and cold spontaneously of its own accord. Also, though the bolt lock worked the security latch at the top was broken.

The indian guy in the daytime beware of him! He is the rudest piece you’ll ever meet in your life. There are 4 indian guys, the other 3 are nice especially the one at night time. But BEWARE of the crappy service.
The room looked good overall, DO NOT go barefoot on the carpet because its extremely dirty you will get black feet. wear shoes! Not even socks.

And all for $ 49 – 50 bucks a night which is great! 12:00pm is the deadline to leave.
And the showers are nice and clean but in our 3^rd day, couple bugs started crawling up the drain.

Tried to check in at 3am after a long day of work and the hotel didn’t have our room. They were completely sold out of rooms. This hotel is terrible will never stay here again.

OK, I revised my review to two stars after finding out that we could clearly hear the guy in the next room snoring. All night. Ye gods. Never again.
Original review, written our first night there with nobody in the room next door: We were going to a family event in Temecula but so were a zillion other people. So we had to look elsewhere for a reasonably priced room and chose the Rodeway Inn.
Room was spacious and very clean. The desk clerk wasn’t particularly friendly and there is a long list of rules posted on the front desk, written by someone whose spelling skills aren’t the best. One rule is «no unauthorized visitors» but the clerk would not explain what that meant when I asked.
The free WiFi works and there’s a good restaurant next door, so all in all we’re satisfied but we won’t ask the family to join us.

I have no idea why this motel gets bad reviews. First of all, it costs between $ 40-​$ 50 per night so it’s not going to be a Hilton. Get over it.
The guy at the front desk is very nice. I think he is the owner. He isn’t overly friendly but he isn’t rude like other people have said. Who cares anyway? He isn’t hanging out in your room with you — he’s just checking you in. Imagine the weirdos this poor guy has to deal with on a regular basis!
My room had a king sized bed, a nice couch, a coffee table, a table and chairs, a refrigerator, a microwave, a large flat screen tv and a sliding glass door that opens to a private patio. How could you possibly complain about that?
I have stayed at tons of motels in the area in the past few months and this one is definitely my favorite. It has everything & it’s very clean. There is nothing to complain about.

We paid $ 50 for the room.
The room itself has a nice flat screen tv.

And the room was very clean.
However I do not appreciate having a Gardner use a blowing machine at 830 am outside the bedroom window, and be waken up and having to listen to it until I have to leave the room.
For that reason I’m giving it two stars!

Stopped to stay here on vacation. It was the best rodeway inn I have stayed at. The room was huge with a balcony. The price is very affordable.

I wish there was an option for zero stars! This place sucks! They say wifi is free but it doesn’t matter because the connection sucked & had to stand in a certain part of my room to get connected. The guy at the front office is an A$$hole! My husband is military & when he found out he was just completely rude! The TV sucked, turned the volume all the way up & still could barely hear it. Also, drain in the shower didn’t close all the way so I couldn’t take a bath. The floors were fake wood & the floor was coming up in certain parts. Microwave didn’t have enough power to even heat up my food, had to put it in for double the time. Can’t believe we paid to sleep here, if I knew it was gonna be that bad I would’ve asked to be paid for the crap we dealt with for the last week!

You get what you pay for. It is true, the staff don’t care to be hospitable or smile even. One room had an old school box tv, didn’t seem my money’s worth honestly. It is very old, especially the carpet. But 2 star because I needed a room and got good sleep lol.
Also the two times I stayed I paid $ 70.00 and $ 120.00 because it was the weekend and because there was some sort of fair or something happening so they made the price competitive. So NO it wasn’t worth it to me, money wise.

Pictures show beautiful rooms with wood vaulted ceilings. When I arrived, those 4 rooms will filled and they put us in a crappy worn out room surrounded by asphalt in the back. Broken lamp, frayed bedding. My wife was disgusted, we informed the front desk that we were leaving, filed a complaint with credit card company. The called the manager who lied, saying we never spoke to anyone about checking out. Company refused to refund. Other Rodeway inns much nicer, stay away from this one. I will neer do business with Rodeway again.

Con: Rudest front desk staff I’ve ever encountered! They cut us off about our rate even though we had it printed in front of us (we still got our rate), yelled at us for dropping keys off at 11:50a even though we called and asked for a late checkout — they said 12 at the latest. We were well before checkout time they approved and he actually yelled at us. He did not realize we were going to yell back either! I could not believe the customer service of this property.
Pro: For an outdoor corridor hotel, the room was clean and had a huge flat screen television. Bathroom was very clean with towels, shampoos and lotions. Which surprised me. Mini fridge, iron, hair dryer and all outlets worked properly.
Sadly enough, the service was the complete turnoff and we will pay a little extra to stay elsewhere.

Terrible service. No cooperation from the owner. We definitely reserved a room with 2 beds as we had 4 people. The owner ARGUED with me and told me that I was wrong. I could not believe what I was hearing. We were stuck with one bed.
I would not come back.

Look, people, when they quote your rooms starting at $ 39 a night, what in the world are you expecting? Fancy breakfast? Pillow top mattresses and a jacuzzi? I mean… c’mon. It’s a bed. A shower. And a cheap night’s stay.
For me, it’s met my expectations. I’ve stayed here on two different occasions and not had a problem. It’s been tidy, well taken care of, and the front desk staff has been nice. The second time around, she recognized me and welcomed me back.
Is the hotel old? You bet. Could it use some maintenance? Absolutely. Is it exactly what I expected at $ 39/​night? Yeppers. The air and heat worked, the tv worked, the shower had hot water, and even though the bath didn’t have a plug, it still worked just fine.
What about that breakfast? It’s exactly this: white and wheat bread for toast, white and wheat English muffins, Cheerios, corn flakes, milk, and orange Sunny Delight/​Tang/​Tampico beverage. Coffee & tea. That’s it. And that’s fine. Honestly, at their cheap rates it’s surprising they even offer it at all.
I’ve not tried the pool, so I can’t comment there.
Every time I’m in the area, I’m really just after a bed. And that’s what I got here. A bed, a shower, and some quick morning grub on my way out to the next adventure. For $ 39+tax I’m not complaining.

I seriously enjoyed staying here WAY more than the Marriott in Del Mar. Why? MUCH bigger room, refrigerator, microwave, big screen TV, comfortable bed, FREE WiFi (the Marriott charged me $ 13 for that), free parking in front of my room, quiet room, comfortable bed, cleaning staff that paid attention to when I left and cleaned my room when it was convenient for ME, pool (unheated), hot tub, hassle free check in and check out, free continental breakfast (didn’t partake but nice that it’s there), $ 47/​night, walking distance to shops, restaurants and Los Jilgueros Preserve (super cute park). I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and my bff who lives in Fallbrook agrees that this place is probably the best value out of all the other motels. Save your cash and skip the fancy hotels, this place has WAY more amenities IMO

I don’t how this place got low reviews, but my experience was good enough for me to be a fan.
Here are the positives:
a. cost effective and low cost
b. no kids running around causing a commotion
c. privacy since the units look like little apartments right next to each other with parking spot directly right outside of the unit. I like that.
d. free wi-​fi in the room if wanted.
negatives:
a. breakfast should be avoided here even though it’s «FREE». Orange Juice is «Sunny Delight». I know, I drink the stuff. So I know.
b.bathrooms don’t have a fan, so you better open up the bathroom window to air it out.
Overall, I would come back here. If you want the Luxury 4 – 5 star treatment, than this place is not for you.
