Oasis Pediatric Dental Care & Orthodontics

We had a great experience here with my 4 and 2 year old. The scheduling and check in were super smooth and they are open late so kids don’t have to miss school. The Lobby has a library of books and a wii. Kids were given a sheet of sparkly Halloween stickers upon check in. The hygienist melody took us back and was great, explaining everything in language kids can understand and allowing them to pick the flavor of their fluoride treatment. The room itself has a flat screen tv mounted on the ceiling playing PBS shows like curious George. They have an electronic medical record and facilities in general are modern and new. The dentist dr phaeton came in at the end and took a look and was nice, knowledgeable and professional. Kids each left with a bag that included a toothbrush, mouthwash and toothpaste and they were able to pick a toy from the box upon check out. They do their best to ensure a good visit. It’s important to start going early, before the cavities and fillings so kids have that good experience at the dentist. For now our kids love the dentist and will eagerly go back. I am thankful for this wonderful practice!

My almost 3-​year-​old son and I had the best possible dental experience here today. I called for an emergency appointment when the office opened at 7:30 and was in at 10. This place is more frilly than a lot of offices, but it made for a comfortable experience for my son, who hadn’t been to the dentist in over a year, a good experience. They did everything possible to cater to his age. Dr. Phaeton is great with kids and so was the hygienist. There was no crying, which was awesome considering that my son was in pain. The exam and cleaning ran $ 185 without insurance, but the positive experience was worth it.

AWFUL!
I brought my little one here a few times. Each time the dentist was late seeing here. Not just a little late, but incredibly late. For our final appointment, she was two-​hours behind schedule. Upon asking the administrative assistant, Yesica, when we could expect to be seen, I was told, «You shouldn’t go to the doctor and expect the appointment to be on time. I always have to wait for my doctor.»
They require you to pay a deposit before they will schedule any procedure. I thought maybe this was standard practice in the area because we only moved here a short time ago. But, of course, now that we’ve found a different dentist, we’ve leaned that this is far from standard. Most dentists trust that their patients will show up.
My little one had to have a «baby root canal» and have a temporary crown placed. A short time after the procedure was completed, a large abscess developed on her gums and we had to return to another dentist to have another procedure performed. Turns out that the root canal preformed at Oasis was very poorly done and this cause my child a great deal of suffering.
The doctor’s bedside manner is awful… She doesn’t know how to communicate with children over the age of 5.
If you’re looking for a great pediatric dentist, I highly recommend Banaji. The staff is great, dental work is tremendously good, and the dentists have great bedside manner. It’s like night and day comparing it to the horrors of Oasis.

My daughter cries to go TO the DENTIST! She’s only 4 years old too. I credit that all to the staff and Dr. Phaeton! Ever since a hygienist told her she has to take care of her «princess teeth,» I’ve never had to fight with her about brushing at home! The staff knows how to make children relaxed and comfortable!
Scheduling an appointment is easy and I love that the office has evening appointments so I don’t have to take off to visit. My daughter loves the «treasure box» at the end and the new tooth brush she gets every visit.
Please DO NOT believe the «terrible» experiences mentioned here by some people. Shame on them for writing such nasty reviews. We’ve been going to this office for 3 years and we’ve never had a poor experience or met one rude person.
The office is the most organized and up to date I’ve seen. The staff communicates via ear pieces to keep the process flowing smoothly. The chairs are extremely comfortable and the hygienists bring out blankets to put under my daughter’s legs since she is so small in the chair. They have sunglasses to protect the children’s teeth and tvs in the ceiling.
The lobby has books and a game system in addition to magazines and a tv. Also, there is a table with crayons to keep children entertained. We never wait long though and are seen within 5 minutes of our appointment time.
The office system sends out a text message to confirm your appointment (scheduling 6 months in advance I rely on this reminder) and an office staff calls a few days before your appointment to confirm.
When we arrive, we sign in and the receptionist simply asks if anything has changed with the insurance. I haven’t filled out a form in 3 years! It’s NOT the dentist’s fault if your child has cavities! We will definitely stay with this practice and HIGHLY recommend it to any parent who believes in the best oral care for your child.

The dentist here might be good, but we didn’t get to experience it because the administrative process was so awful that we walked away. When scheduling the appointment took 20 minutes, it should have been a signal that the office was disorganized.
When we checked in, we had to provide much of the same information we had already provided on the phone and on the per-​enrollment forms. In another excruciatingly slow and unnecessarily confusing exchange. We were then told our insurance was «out of network» despite specifically asking if they took our insurance. I could go on.
After getting off on the wrong foot and getting a bad vibe from the office (there was a child screaming in apparent agony the entire time we were waiting) we decided it was not the place for our family.

Dr. Phaeton is rude, and only out to make money… Terrible experience! The first visit went well with the hygienists cleaning both of my son’s teeth. They had fears about the dentist and I decided to try a pediatric dentist to help them overcome these fears. They said my son had four cavities, one was so bad they would need to extract the tooth. After the cleaning was complete I was ushered to a small room to discuss the treatment plan. It was a similar experience to buying a new car… you had to put a down payment to even schedule the next appointment for the treatment. I should have gone with my gut and sought another dentist or taken him to my dentist but, went ahead and made the appointment.
I was told the appointment would be an hour and that they would do as much work as possible and that the Dr. did not like to have kids under the nitrous oxide too long (this is not covered by insurance and you are charged $ 100). The beginning of the appointment began with my fearful son being put under the nitrous gas, which did help to calm him down but instead of starting with the extraction and fillings, the hygienist spent 40 mins. putting sealants on four teeth (also an out of pocket expense not covered by insurance). The Dr. came into numb both sides of his mouth and during that time I mentioned the fact that he had been under Nitrous Oxide almost 45 min at that point and mentioned what the front desk admin had told me about not having the kids be under for longer than an hour. At the mention of that, she stopped what she was doing and began to argue with me that she never said that and then proceeded to call the front desk admin to the room to clarify the situation. I told her she could handle that on her own time and that I would prefer she focus on my son. After several minutes of a very unprofessional Dr. arguing with me and trying to seek out who told me this false information, she continued working on my son.
At about 55 min into the appointment, the tooth extraction was done and my son said he needed to use the bathroom. When we came back the hygienist said our appointment time was done and we would have to come back to finish the treatment. I was floored and asked why they were not going to finish the treatment, especially after the doctor had used Novocain injections on both sides of his jaw. With that she took me into another room where Dr. Phaeton was working on another patient (totally unprofessional) and I asked her why she was not completing the treatment. She told me that since I was so worried about having him under the «laughing gas» for so long we could come back for the second round of treatment. I asked why they decided to take 40 min of our appointment putting preventative sealants on when they should have started with the extraction and fillings. She was so rude to me and basically dismissed us out.
I could not believe what was happening, my poor son had been under Nitrous Oxide for an hour, had both sides of his jaw injected with Novocaine and then to be sent home with two more cavities needing to be filled. They clearly are more interested in making money then actually treating their patients. We would have had to go back and spend an additional $ 100-​$ 200 for the follow up treatment.
I took my son back to my dentist to fill the other two cavities and wouldn’t you know, there really was only one cavity needing to be filled. Again, Dr. Phaeton is only out to make money. She is rude and should not be practicing — stay away from this practice, especially if your child needs any treatments.

I was extremely unhappy with my child’s visit to this dentist’s office. I had to wait almost an hour with my one year old before we saw a hygienist. She was rough with my child, made her cry, and initiated a fluoride treatment without asking me first. I would not have said yes to the fluoride treatment as I know it’s not recommended for babies who cannot spit it out — my baby had to swallow it all — but she started putting it in my baby’s mouth without telling me what it was and before I had a chance to object. In addition, the dentist came in and was very rushed, I did not have a chance to ask everything that I wanted. I will not be going back.

We take both our kids here and it is just awesome! The staff is just so personable when I tell my kids that they have a dentist appointment they cheer and get ready so quickly!!! Dr. Is so right with the kids they respond to her and just relax while they are in the chair. It’s amazing! Love this place love it love it love it

I took both my two rambunctious boys to get cavities filled and I was nervous about how they would do. The dentist really has a calming approach with kids and was able to keep them at ease throughout their procedures. I got phone calls after their service to check on how the boys were doing. I highly recommend this dentist to any parent searching for the right dentist for their child.

Great staff great doctor they worked on my daughter and she was doing just fine after a filling was done. The way they let you know about the treatment is good. The doctor is very nice and did a great job thank you again to the staff and the doctor will see you in 6months! !

Dr. Phaeton is amazing! I am a first time mom, and as everyone knows, we have tons of questions about absolutely everything that could happen with a little one. I brought my 8-​month-​old son in today, and Dr. Phaeton was very patient with a little guy who has never had someone stick a mirror in his mouth. She answered all my questions with a smile on her face and didn’t make me feel dumb for asking questions (which I have experienced a lot with doctors).
Even though my son only has 4 teeth, I’m so glad that I brought him in. He had some bruising on his gums which she confirmed was a result of teething and is nothing to worry about, but she made me feel comfortable coming to her if I feel that it should be looked at further.
Thank you so much, Dr. Phaeton for a wonderful, first dental exam for my little boy. We’ll most certainly be back in 6 months when my boy has some more teeth to be looked at.

Love love love Dr. Phaeton! She’s awesome with my kids. I have four children, one who has autism and one who has Down syndrome. She absolutely could not have been better with them! I was so impressed. It’s tough finding a dentist that is so good with kids– especially those with special needs. Her office is nice, her staff is wonderful. They really worked hard with our insurances and made sure we knew the cost of everything up front. My kids needed a lot of work done, so Im super glad we found a place that is so comfortable to go to. Dr. Phaeton herself is also super easy to be around and fun to talk to. Love this place!
