Prairie Crossing Apartments

For the area, the quality of the apartments, location, and price, it’s a great apartment building and I would recommend living here. Probably best apartment experience I’ve ever had.
Positives:
— Great location. I have family and friends in Plano/​Frisco to Downtown Dallas to Grapevine, so it’s nice to get on and off Tollway and 635 easily.
— From the moment we moved in, the front office staff were professional and nice and always willing to answer any and all questions. There seemed to be some staff changes since we moved in from March 2015. Paolo, was one of the new staff members and when we had questions or issues, he was always very friendly, very professional, and knew what he was talking about.
— Maintenance requests are completed within 24 hours of submitting them (FYI. they replace the light bulbs)
— I never had any pest issues or saw any roaches
— They host events several times a month (ice cream, pizza, root beer floats, etc. socials) and team up with local businesses for discounts (Mainly PapaJohns for 50% off order). The «fun» committee or whatever they are called even meet you at the gate in the mornings with breakfast items (donuts, granola bars, etc.).
— The pool is great and it changes colors at night
— They take the reserved parking very serious and cars will be towed
— GREAT SPOT FOR ADDISON Kaboom Town (Park on the 5^th floor, but park closest to the NW corner (where the stairs are located) to get the best view because the Gieco building does block some of the lower fireworks.
— The hold your packages for you in the office (If it is delivered to the office and not at your door). During the holidays they stay open later than normal so residents can get their packages.
The noises I heard are expected from living in an apartment complex and never had any sound issues after 9pm/​10pm:
— People walk above me
— People vacuuming above me
— Kids in the hallways
— People drive in the parking garage
— People at the pool
— Never heard any dogs though
Minor (to me) Negatives (so take them as you like):
— Signing the lease is a little time-​consuming, as you have to eSign each single page.
— The price of the apartments change daily, which can be troublesome for budgeting purposes, but it seems a lot of apartments are starting to go that route.
— The gate to the parking garage broke (twice, so far) and TollTags weren’t allowing residents in and the TollTag Numbers were erased from the database, so a temporary code was provided. They stated they would advise the residents once it was working again to re-​enter the TollTag Numbers again. Two months went by and they never notified via e-​mail. They could have e-​mailed everyone.
— I’ve heard about the fire alarms going off, but it seems within a year it never happened while I was home. It was until almost a year later, the 2^nd and 4^th floors were going off at 1:30AM. They were going off for almost 2 hours before they were turned off.
— The walkway between the parking garage and Building 7 are stones and can become slippery when it rains. It should be a concrete walkway for safety reasons.
— The speed in which people drive in the parking garage, so be careful when driving and use the mirrors hanging in the garage when driving.
— Elevator does not go to the 5^th floor (visitors parking), so they need to take the stairs down and then catch elevator on the 4^th floor.
Major Negative:
— If you are going to use a Usual or moving company, they will have to park on the streets near the garage entrance or use the one loading dock at the garage entrance. I personally like the set-​up with the buildings surrounding the parking garage.
— There is only one elevator, but it is large enough to load large items in and out.

These apartments are terrible. First of all, when we looked at them before move in they told us which place we would have and when my husband drove down from where we lived before to move in they set us up with something completely different and then made us pay for their mistake because they had nothing else available and we had no other choice.
Secondly, they schedule fire drills so often without warning and when they do schedule them it’s never the times they say.
Thirdly, they do a terrible job with controlling the parking garage as people speed in and out of all hours of the night and can’t do anything about it because there are no cameras. Also, their security gates broke and instead of fixing them right away they waited until a random person started coming in the middle of the night taping religious posts onto everyone’s door.
There is a pathway from the parking garage to the apartments that is an uneven assortment of rocks which is completely unsafe and my daughter trips on them always. We shouldn’t have to go a longer distance to walk safely.
Our neighbors are the worst and never get written up. The neighbors to the side have a dog that they leave all the time so it knocks out the screen and gets into the courtyard and barks nonstop. The neighbors above us empty what I assume is a cooler every week and the water goes all over our porch.
We have had to get our lights changed 5 times in the year we have been here because they won’t just fix the shortage. They’d rather change the bulbs every other week. And then they didn’t even fix the gap under our door so many bugs got in.
So no I wouldn’t recommend these awful «luxury» apartment complexes.

FLEAS. FLEAS. FLEAS. If you were lucky enough to lease a unit that previously had a German Shephard living in it, you will likely find tiny little random bites all over your body from time to time. That would be the flea infestation that management failed to get rid of or even mention before you moved in.

Since Lindsey has been gone I haven’t had any other issues. I really enjoy living here and I feel like it’s home. The apartment is nice, the property is kept clean, and repairs are done quickly. There are at least two resident events each month and they’re always great. Oh, my neighbors are great also!

Was here for 3 years but i’ll keep it short and simple…
This place was not worth the money!
Thin walls.
Noisy neighbors (that never got a write up).
Dogs barking all day and night (again the staff never took care of it).
Old appliances. Drawers That would fall off or not pull out right.
Super dirty hallways.
Nickle and dime you for everything!
Garage door is always broken and garage is accident prone!
Lets just say that they need to put up security cameras (bc there has been theft)!
And. NEW staff and mgmt still can’t seem to get their sh*t right. Hopefully they do!
Only stayed here for so long bc our daughter liked her school. We couldn’t wait to get out!

I lived here about two wasted years, first thinking I found a nice and newer apartment for relatively cheap in the Addison area.
Moving in/​out was a biatch because the complex is all enclosed, warding off the street hobos or something. The whole thing surrounds a single garage in the middle which has only one elevator in the corner. Somebody probably has taken the loading dock already anyway so you have no choice but to park your uhaul on the street where there is traffic!
By the way, someone tried to drive a uhaul into the garage and got stuck under the gate. Fools. No wonder the garage gate is always broken. Someone even ran into it once, probably in a drunken stupor. The garage is a driving nightmare. You really have to be careful when turning in sharp angles to avoid head on collisions.
During my stay here the terribly deafening alarm went off at least 4 – 5 times, maybe more counting times I wasn’t at home. It was triggered because of this same water pipe bursting in the garage. You’re lucky if you didn’t have a unit facing it our else water would be spewing all over your door. In 2 years they couldn’t get that fixed seriously? Can you imagine having guests over during one of those times?
Well, besides that, it’s a decent and newer apartment run by a single huge cockroach I sometimes see in the hallway. The unit I had which was the smallest was ~$ 900. I wouldn’t even consider it a luxury apartment for that price. Best thing though was their Thanksgiving dinner. I’ll give them that, delish.

I am originally from California and was looking for a nice place to stay in N. Dallas. I have been living at prairie crossing for 6 months and there is some pros and cons
about this place. The only pro is the location and the price for a two bedroom which is not so bad in this area. Now with the cons, the apartment is not sound proof and if you are living on a floor and there is someone above you, it will sound like elephants dancing on your head usually at night time. The leasing office is not reliable for issues to help with your concerns or maintenance issues. Parking is okay, as long as you make it before 9 p.m. The $ 20 trash fee door service that you have to pay them is not always reliable service on a day to day basis, they don’t pick up like they should everyday. The water bill in addition, is an additional cost. The only cable provider is AT&T. Like you, I read reviews on this apartment, I ignored them by thinking that my experience will be different. I was definitely wrong. While you may not be able to find the perfect apartment, you have to draw the line on what you can and cannot tolerate. I learned the hard way, luckily I did a short lease.

Great living here. Low ratings bc ppl don’t think to comment on good, only the bad. Not the highest quality but you know that going in. Great office staff. Great location.

Do NOT for the life of you– rent from here… I have called them 3 times with very simple lease questions and each time the person who answered responded with «I cant help you, someone will call you back.» NO ONE has called me back and every time I call the phone person/​staff is highly un-​interested in my question– almost as if they are annoyed I called. This is NO way to run a business, let alone an apartment complex. I have owned and rented both here and in san Diego, California and I have never been treated with such disrespect. STAY AWAY!

I have worked with several apartment complexes in my position as a State Farm representative, and I must say that Prairie Crossing Apartments are my favorite to work with. They are always pleasant and happy to see me when I bring them goodies or just business cards to help their tenants.
This morning we did a breakfast drop at the complex for the tenants and everyone was very pleasant, grateful and the Care team was great in getting us set up.
If you are looking for a clean, modern design apartment complex with a great location and smiling faces, I would say this is your new home.

Having lived in a few different apartments around Dallas and Houston, I’ve had my fair share of living conditions. Overall, Prairie Crossing has been one of the bests BUT there was one major downfall.
Though the staff are amazingly awesome (go see Brittani if you want to lease here… she’ll remember your name and always help you out) and the amenities that this place has to offer are great (small pool area, HUGE gourmet kitchen in the clubhouse, small gym that is always available, and GREAT floor plans) …the one MAJOR downfall was the fact that you can hear everything from your neighbors. You can hear people walking down the hallway, you can hear them talking out on their patios, and you can definitely hear your upstairs neighbors walking around.
Overall, Prairie Crossing is a great smaller complex but just make sure you live on the top floor or pray that you don’t have neighbors living upstairs.
