RVS Moving & Delivery Service

Used RVS for my move in January. Can’t say enough good things! They were prompt in their response back about a quote. Showed up on time! We’re efficient in working. Wrapped all my furniture and treated it nicely. I have very difficult to assembly ikea furniture, yet they had no problems with assembly! Finished the job before the amount of time they originally quoted me. And asked for the exact amount they quoted me (which was about $ 100 less than other companies that quoted me). I would definitely use them again for my next move. Made my life so much easier!

I was looking for a moving service that could accommodate my needs at a very optimal price point in the last 90 days
I looked through Unilocal and found that RVS was local to my place and had great ratings!.. It is true that Unilocal ratings really help us get better service as RVS lived up to the rating provided .
They offered me a quote on my initial request and went over and beyond when they moved my furniture and were extremely helpful and supportive to help me on my needs
A special mention to ray who was really helpful and went out of his way to look for ways to help me during the move, even though I had only requested for the big furniture to be moved.
Despite all the extra services, they only requested for their initial quote amount and I was truly pleased for such a wonderful customer service .
I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a moving service with good customer service and integrity, as they keep up their words and do an amazing job

Used RVS Moving Company on December 21^st, 2015. They were excellent! Ray was honest and was able to accommodate my schedule and availability! He came next day! Ray price quoted me over the phone for $ 350 for two couches, a mattress & box spring, a bed frame of a headboard and footboard, two dressers, a chest, and an end table. They wrapped everything securely and handled all with care. I was moving out of my 3^rd floor walk up apartment to my new home in Franklin Square. When I explained the stairs and such they accepted the challenge without complaint or hesitation. After they packed all up, The truck arrived minutes after I pulled up. Super fast! Movers unpacked everything and put all furniture exactly where I asked. I cannot say enough good things. So affordable, honest and hardworking. Will recommend them to my friends and family! Thank you for everything again!

The manger was very nice and the lead mover were nice as well. They sent 3 old guys to move a lot of heavy stuff. I do not mean to judge, but these guys were not equipped to move stuff. They were nice but VERY slow. They also had to repack the truck twice (in the rain) so some of my stuff got wet. They also took a VERY long time to drive to the next location /​APT.
The main issue I had was one of the movers was AWFUL and VERY rude. He spat on my floor INSIDE my apartment, I was trying to direct on what was needed etc. and he ignored me and did whatever he wanted to do (which also held us up)
Also some of my items were broken and damaged, I have an art deco armoire and the handle was broken off of one of the drawers (I did not realize it until much later) also some other smaller items were cracked etc…
I would have given a better rating, but I feel that I paid for a top tier crew and I got a second /​third tier crew. Again the head mover was nice and helpful, but the other guy was beyond terrible…

Just moved again and used RVS moving again. And once again… they were AWESOME! Fast, efficient and super friendly. I can’t say enough good things about this company!!!

We recommend RVS Moving 100%. They were professional and friendly from start to finish. They gave us a very fair quote, scheduled the time we asked for, showed up on time with lots of extra packing supplies, and made sure to ask about any fragile items we had. They went the extra mile to make sure the move went smoothly and helped us to move some extra heavy furniture into place. The whole team was responsive, careful, and did a great job. We would give them more than five stars if possible!

I end up not using RVS Moving and here I will explain the «why not».
I described my moving needs to the employee who picked up my call to RVS. Basically, it was a relatively small job moving furnitures from a large studio apartment (a bed, a TV, a couch, etc.) from one location to another that were only 10 min drive apart. Parking space was available for the truck at both pick up and drop off locations. Elevators were available so no stairs to climb. Hassle-​free. Simple.
I got a quote for $ 600. Outrageously overpriced. Or maybe that was their way to turn down a job.
My move was successfully using a moving company for only $ 400.

This was my first time using movers and it was great! I found RVS on Unilocal and went with them because of their outstanding reviews. They definitely lived up to their reviews. Ray and his amazing crew were quick and efficient. I didn’t realize how many items were left unpacked but Ray and his crew provided more boxes and helped me pack the remaining items. All of my furniture, computers, and T.V.s were neatly wrapped and were transported to my new home without any damages. Ray and his crew are extremely hard working and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is moving.

I had a great experience with RVS. The movers were on time, professional and quick. They made sure to ask questions if they weren’t sure about something. The price was also fair. Money well spent! I recommend their services!

Great company! We just moved today and the experience could not have been better. The movers came early, packed up the truck no problem. They helped wrap a few boxes and furniture so nothing was damaged. We were moving to a 5^th floor walk up so we were worried about that but the guys handled it without complaining and were really cool about it. Super cheap too. Definitely recommend it to any future movers.

We moved today with an impending super storm coming to NY, rain all day. They showed up on time and moved us quickly and efficiently. I am very happy with them and would highly recommend.

Ray and his crew were extremely understanding of our time constraints and unexpected parking issues (even on a very hot day).
Though the move took a few hours longer, he did not increase the price on us and never complained. His staff also helped us do some last minute packing, we totally underestimated the number of boxes we needed for all our stuff. Not a single thing was damaged.
Have moved with their services twice now. Would highly recommend!!! The best!

I used this service on 6÷28÷15 and they were very professional from start to finish. Although they did run late as I was their second job for the day — please note: unless you are the schedule first job; chances are movers will be late getting over to you. You can never anticipate what may/​or may not occur during the first load of the day — i.e. weather, location, access, etc… They called and informed me that they were going to be running late and apologize profusely.
Minus the delay, they were on point. I will recommend for those that have very restricted «move-​in/​out» hours. Schedule any/​or all movers as the first job for the day.
It truly was a pleasure!

Ray is fast about getting you an estimate and returning emails. If you’re moving to a building that requires insurance, you simply give him the manager’s contact info and he will take care of the details. He and his crew showed up right on time on the morning of our move and didn’t complain or fret about all the boxes of books we had — even though there were A LOT and they had to deal with carrying them down 3 flights of stairs. They moved us out quicker than I thought and did a careful job all the while — helping take apart and then reassemble our dining table, bed, and crib. I hope I don’t have to move for a good long while, but if I do, I’d call them again.

Wow is all I can say! It’s definitely a challenge to find an adorable and trust worthy mover. RVS gets high reviews and they deserve them. They gave us a flat rate that was quite affordable Our move took all day but Ray stuck to his price. They were courteous with us and conscientious with our stuff. It was a long and tedious day and they worked hard to ensure we were happy and set up when they left. Let’s face it moving sucks but being able to trust someone with hauling all your stuff from Brooklyn to New Jersey makes it a little easier

Ray and his crew helped me move last month. (Am late in writing my review.) Prior to that, he was very responsive via email and gave me a fair rate and stuck to it. I had quotes from other movers and Ray was the most accomodating. Movers did a great job during the day of the move, even helped me move my sofa down flight of stairs when it didn’t fit in the elevator. Which was not in the original plan.
Thumbs up all around! Will def be using Ray again in the future!

I moved from a larger apartment to a smaller apartment. Ray’s crew was careful, efficient and courteous. Ray worked with me to fit what I had into limited space.
The crew packed everything and everything was delivered free of damage. I was not stressed.
Ray provided appropriate insurance papers to building management and worked in cooperation with the superintendents.
Ray gave an estimate and stuck to it. This was very important to me.
I was very satisfied and I would use them again. Ray did not request that I rate RVC on Unilocal.I’m not even sure he knows that he is highly rated.

I contacted RVS and actually should have used them as moves. The movers I ended using were horrible.
I just got confirmation from them later on … but once I decided not to use the other movers last minute they offered their services anywhere. They were always very polite.
Ray email me directly.
Sadly I had already made a deposit (nonrefundable) to the other company, so I had to stick to them.
Otherwise, Ray was very kind in getting back to me during the holiday season.
They seem to have pretty good reviews. They also offered insurance items and had pretty reasonable pricing.

UPDATE: After my initial review, I was contacted by the owner– Ray. He was extremely apologetic. He explained that they were short-​staffed that day because of the holidays, and that he will no longer use the crew that he sent me. He did me one better, too. He came to my home, in person, apologized again, and reimbursed me the extra $ 150 cash that I paid the subpar crew just to get them to finish the job.
So while I can’t speak for the service, since I didn’t get the A-​Team, I can say that Ray is a class act.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Unbelievably disappointed.
I own a minivan with a ton of cargo space, and I’m only moving 20 minutes away. I could’ve done this move on my own, with the help of friends. The ONLY reason I hired movers was to remove some stress, and some wear and tear from my shoulders. Yet RVS did little to help in those departments.
I feel duped.
I went with RVS because their reviews looked stellar, their website had a nice interface for getting a quote, they said disassembly and reassembly were included, and because they offered a flat rate. I called, heard their very clean cut and professional outgoing voicemail message, and got a sense I was dealing with pros.
I gave them a list of what was going to the new place, as well as the logistics of the move itself. They replied with a quote. I agreed. We set the date and time. All was set.
Then the day of the move came. For starters, I got a last minute email about them needing to come an hour later. Ok.
Then, instead of clean cut professionals. I got a 3-​man crew of guys who spoke broken English who asked if I speak Spanish (which I do) to better facilitate communication, all wearing random street clothes. No uniforms. No logos.
Immediately, the lead guy began claiming they couldn’t handle my things. They saw my two massive IKEA closets, which are about 8 feet tall, and the main guy said that they’re 15 feet tall. He sounded shocked that he would have to disassemble and reassemble, and even called someone who was likely a manager. He put me on the phone with him, after complaining about the size of the units and making a fuss that I needed more work than he’d been told. The guy on the phone asked me to pay $ 50 more.
Ok.
I agreed to the added fee. Then we went through what I needed moved. Every step of the way, the main guy acted like this was more than he was told. I explained that it was all on the list I gave RVS, so while I’m sorry, it’s not really my fault. He kept complaining that he and his guys aren’t being paid enough for this.
Again, not my problem.
Finally, they got everything packed (or so I thought) and left. I then noticed that they left my son’s crib– an item that was both on the list and that I pointed out to them earlier on. So they came back. The main guy, again, seemed flustered that he had to take it apart.
I then looked around, saw there were some other things I’d love them to take, took in mind that he wanted more money, and said «Hey, if I throw in another $ 100, can you take some more?» He, of course, agreed. So now I was paying $ 150 more than I had initially agreed to. But hey, I was willing to just do it to get this all over with, take some time off my hands, and to make the guys stop acting like I was taking advantage of them.
Oh, I should mention that he also snuck in reference to getting tipped in the middle of all this, despite me adding more money and this all being cash. Charming.
So they left, for a second time, and I stayed behind to pack some things into my van. My wife let them into the new place and they got to work.
Then I went over, with my loaded Van, only to find out that THEY had forgotten a vital piece for my IKEA closets at my old apartment. He then pointed out that he has commercial plates and is therefore limited in how he can travel, so they told me I should go back to get the items they forgot.
So I did it. 20 minutes for the initial trip. 20 to go back and grab what they left. Then 20 to return to my new place. So I spent an hour driving around, doing trips back and fourth… because THEY left something.
Tell me, where was the convenience in this? Where is the value in this service, if I have to pay more and still do all this legwork?
I hear the main crew is in Jersey on a job today. Looks like I got the B-​team. Or possibly the C-​team. The truck they came in looks nothing like the ones featured on their page. It didn’t have RVS on it anywhere. It was covered in graffiti, and it actually had a different name on the doors entirely. So I get the feeling that RVS shadily, and underhandedly, subcontracted another, lesser company to come handle my move today.
Still, I was nice to the guys. I was patient. My wife gave them pizza on their way out. Yet, despite all the hassle and all the annoying back-​and-​forth, the main guy (Daniel) acted all indignant when I gave him the increased balance in cash, with no tip.
This whole thing just left a very bad taste in my mouth

Such outstanding service and courteous movers. I was living with a roommate and wanted to move out of my bedroom and into a (huge) place of my own that was literally 400 feet away. I highly recommend RVS!
PROS
— FAST! Granted, I didn’t have MUCH to move (bed, dresser, about 30 medium sized boxes) and I didn’t move far (again, 400 feet away), but they were really efficient. It took under two hours.
— FURNITURE DISASSEMBLING AND REASSEMBLING. I did NOT want to disassemble and reassemble my bed. Not sure if this is a service they have on all moves, but they did it for mine and I was SO GRATEFUL.
— FLAT RATE. I got quotes from other moving companies and they all gave me hourly rates with a minimum set of hours I had to pay for. I was not having that.
— NO EXTRA CHARGES. Some other companies I got quotes for even charged for things like tape, padding, and other packing materials. No thank you!
CONS
— The pricing was a tiny bit higher than I expected but it was worth it given the fact that they disassembled and reassembled my bed.
