Worst sushi ever. Fish was warm and did not taste good. No flavor. The service was slow. The had very little unique offerings. Looks like they bought a 50’s dinner and tried to add some Japanese flair.

Superb curry. Not afraid to make it spicy if you ask for it that way. Most places can’t compare with how spicy it gets.

A Sushi Bar and Thai Restaurant that does an exceedingly well job consistently presenting fresh quality food with service to match; is this a dream?! At Suan no matter what I have ordered, which has been both cuisines multiple times, comes out exceeding my expectations giving me a greater craving to return! They are located in a small business strip right next to Vapor Shark. Outdoor Seating is available but limited with only three 2 seater tables. Inside is very bright and clean with a modern atmosphere. My favorite spot is at the Sushi Bar where you can watch the Sushi Chef prepare your dish also providing a full view of the kitchen. The Dining Room is quite large with tables positioned for maximum seating without being clustered or on top of your neighbor. Immediately upon walking in you are greeted with an ultra friendly welcome! Customer Service really shines above here as they take great pride in providing customers with the utmost service! Even while sitting at the Sushi Bar the Chefs were very attentive answering any questions we had! Which we learned that they make their own Crisp Salmon Skin Fresh– none of that Dried Product! Supreme Freshness with an Exceptional Craftsmanship & Delivery! –House Salad comes with a well balanced Ginger Dressing consisting of Fresh Lettuce and Vegetables! –Reggae Roll: First experience having a Sushi Roll with Conch in it. Very different! –Yellow Submarine Roll: Excellent Flavor and Presentation! –Sashimi Appetizer is by far the Best Quality Sashimi I have had in Broward County! Both times I have ordered this the presentation is Beautiful with Top Notch Salmon, White Fish, and Tuna! Melt in Your Mouth Deliciousness! –Red Curry Chicken is served with Fluffy Steamed Rice and carries that Red Curry Spice I am always searching for! Chicken is tender and not over cooked as most places do. –Escolar Hand Roll was Beautifully Fresh full of delicate buttery Escolar! Provided without the scare! –Udon Vegetable Soup: Mega! Served with LOTS of great well cooked Veggies and the Udon is one of the best I have had! THAIICED TEA-One Word– FLAVORCOUNTRY!!! Sauces Are Provided at each table so you can access as much or little as you want! Kimchi Sauce is my favorite along with Eel Sauce, Spicy Mayo, and Sriracha! This is a really great spot for Lunch providing Lunch Specials Every Single Day from 11−3pm! They also have Happy Hour Daily from 3pm to 6pm with BOGO Beer, Wine, and Sake! All Day Everyday Singha Beer is 2 for $ 7! Delivery is also available along with Take-Out! They Do Not Accept American Express Credit Cards! For a meal that really goes above and beyond with an experience to match Suan does an exceedingly well job! Let the amazing staff and well trained Chefs cater to your Sushi & Thai Cravings!

Came here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. They offer a long list of lunch specials between 7.99 to 13.99. I went with the chicken pad Thai it came with a salad, 3 pieces of sushi, 2 spring rolls and seafood salad all for $ 11.99, my husband got the tuna lunch box which came with half a California roll, 6 piece sashimi, salad, large portion of tuna takaki, and 3 piece of sushi also for $ 11.99. Everything was delicious and fresh, we are happy we checked it out

Came in for a midweek dinner and was kicking myself I hadn’t tried this place sooner. I saw photos of this place during the day — and excuse the weak play on word — but it’s night and day compared to… well, night. In the evenings this place comes alive with bright LEDs around the bar, and a darker, more intimate feel than what the daytime projects. They have a nice bar to grab some sushi/cocktails and various tables/booths for you to sit if you are actually grabbing dinner. I really dig the vibe. It’s cool/modern without being pretentious. Fried bok choy — This was one of the highlights of the evening. The bok choy became like paper when fried. It would melt in your mouth. Addicting to eat, and delicious. Just a tad too salty, but I couldn’t stop eating them. Shrimp shaumi — little shrimp dumplings. Delicious. Hard to explain what makes these so good, since they are pretty simple, but I popped all 6 in my mouth pretty quickly. I almost ordered one more order. I considered it, but thankfully I didn’t as the pad thai was on the way. Pork pad Thai — It’s a massive serving and was really good. The noodles were great and they had nice slices of pork folded in — coated in peanut sauce. Great service — The young lady that took care of us was super nice and checked in to see if we needed anything. It was also super fast. The food came out quickly and she brought over the bill as soon as we were done.

It is sometimes a little disappointing when Thai food is combined with Japanese food, because part of the reason we go for Thai food is for some heat for a displaced Texan. Thai’s like heat. Japanese like bland food. It’s a conundrum to put them together under one roof. This was no different. The curry we got had a great flavor, but it will still missing the heat even after we asked for«Thai spicy»(i.e. hot for the Thai person, not the American). No problem, though, because they brought pulverized ground red pepper on the side. We could spice all we liked. And boy did we. We also had the calamari which was AMAZINGLY tender. I usually don’t even bother trying calamari. Hubby gets the whole thing to himself. But this was actually edible. I was shocked.

The service is friendly but terrible. Waitress asked if I wanted fried tofu in my pad-thai and I said yes, but was served soft tofu(which tasted fine actually). Waitress asked if we wanted tamago as sushi(with rice) or by itself — we specified that we wanted it as sushi and she confirmed that was better. The tamago arrived without rice. The pad-thai was really artificial tasting(like they use ketchup to make the color red). The panang curry that my guy ordered seemed pretty good. All in all, the food is just OKAY. On the plus side, if you’re looking for a quick place to eat without having to wait, this is it.

How many Thai restaurants did we pass before we found this jewel? We were on our way to Thai Spice but my colleague said she’d been there before. So, we set the GPS and drove forever!(It was close the the hotel but we’d already travelled 6 miles.) Anyway, we entered this establishment and ordered(of course for me– Tom Kah soup –chicken and my coworker ordered the to Kah– seafood. The flavor was very good. Galangal, lemon grass, coconut milk, and more. Conversation stopped as we just oohed and aahhed over our food. The seafood had mussels, shrimp, octopus, and probably a couple other creatures. I enjoyed it. I had the Penang Curry– again — of course. The flavor was wonderful with a peanut flavor in the sauce itself. The serving was enough for me to have a good lunch tomorrow after a bedtime snack tonight. The green curry was just loaded with bamboo shoots, thinly sliced. The flavor was good but I liked mine better. I’ll have to say, this was worth the drive and all the wrong turns. On a good note — getting back only took 12 minutes. This was a great selection.

Driving through Ft Lauderdale so many places to chose… let Unilocal be my guide and did I get lucky here at Suan! Pad Thai was excellent and the organic exotic tea… YUM. Had to take one to go I would definitely return

A friend of mine wanted to go out for sushi and found this place on the Unilocal app. I almost shot it down immediately, because(in my experience) a lot of Thai/Japanese places are just Thai places that tack on sushi to get more people through the door; while not having particularly good sushi. But, I was coming off a 5 mile walk and starving, so my stomach was susceptible to suggestion and we ended up coming here. For anyone wanting Thai or sushi, you’re not going to go wrong on either side. The first thing I loved about this place was they immediately give you a small basket filled with squeeze bottles of all the important sauces — kimchee, eel, spicy mayo, and sriracha. This is the first place I’ve been to that’s done that, and it needs to become common practice. I *hate* how some places are so stingy with the sauces(especially kimchee sauce) and I have to constantly ask for it, sometimes multiple times. Another nice touch is when you order soda, they bring your soda as well as a small carafe with more soda so you can do your own refills. Those small details set the tone for the rest of the night, and let me know this restaurant would be on top of it. The service here was good, the food came out fast, the presentation of the food was top notch, and everything tasted great. Since I’d also played tennis before I did that 5 mile walk, I almost ordered half the menu… or at least it felt like it. I ate the spicy conch & octopus, tom yam shrimp soup, and had a spicy tekka and an anaconda roll. About the only complaint was that the spicy tekka hardly had any kimchee sauce on it, but it didn’t matter since I had a bottle of the stuff right next to me. But on the plus side, the tekka rolls are usually small little rolls in any other sushi joint, but Suan’s version is more like a california roll, but with one huge serving of tuna in the middle. Everything I had tasted really fresh, and I could chalk it up to me being really hungry, but my friend also was really impressed with the food there as well. When the two of us dine out, we can nitpick a place to death like nobody’s business, but Suan left us with almost no complaints(the only complaint being that I made myself stop eating before I went crazy and ordered the squid basil leaves or the duck curry on top of everything else).

The food quality was good here. This is a nice big restaurant with every thing from sushi to Chinese and Thai combination. We had the garlic sauce and the basil sauce. The basil was really good but the garlic sauce was average. Overall the food was decent

I love coming here for lunch. They have amazing specials, great quality sushi and thai food, and a staff that is always smiling! Seriously… they’re always genuinely smiling. Its great. The dining room isn’t anything special, big open format. It can get a little noisy if the place is packed, but even then its not too bad. I am a big fan of the Spicy Tuna Salad and Sushi lunch special. Served with a bowl of miso soup, this meal is served in a traditional bento box style. Along side the serving of spicy tuna salad(which is made up of chunks of sushi grade tuna, pickled cucumbers, and tossed in a spicy dressing), there is a spread of three pieces of sushi(tuna, salmon, escobar), 6 pieces of sashimi(again, tuna, salmon and escobar), seaweed salad, and a little something sweet. When you just look at the menu, its HUGE. Pages upon pages of thai dishes, sushi rolls, sushi combinations, fried rice and noodle dishes. I could absolutely see it being a little overwhelming. But, everything that I’ve had, and anyone who has come here with me has had, is a hit. One of my associates is a big fan of their fried rice… the shrimp its served with truly are JUMBO. With reasonable prices and delicious food, the only downside is the small parking lot. But there’s still ample parking on the street if the lot is full. Its a winner for sure.

I order shrimp pad Thai lunch special with a salad for take out. It was decent. The only thing I didn’t care for is it was $ 1.00 extra for a peanut dressing sauce. But the quality was very good. Shrimp was cooked perfect and fresh. Salad was very fresh too. Prices are good.

This is some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, and it isn’t exorbitantly priced. I’ve eaten here multiple times and it is consistently good. I’ve had the pad thai, pad see ew, and another«pad» dish that I cannot recall. I’ve also had the sushi, which blew away my expectations. Everything has been excellent. The pad thai might be the best I’ve ever had. The service has also been excellent each time. The servers are just so darn friendly! Go for lunch and get chicken pad thai for $ 8.95 with a side salad. The portion of pad thai is huge and well worth it.

Granted, I’ve only ordered two things off of their menu for takeout, but that experience alone garners 5 stars! I recently moved to a new area and my friends at Thai Curry in Tamarac are way too far to satisfy my Panang Curry craving. Suan Thai was the closest Thai restaurant so I figured I would try them out. I’m so glad I did! I found my new Thai favorite in east Fort Lauderdale! Their Panang Curry was off the charts! I ordered it at a medium spiciness and it came out as medium, to my taste. The curry was spicy and creamy with a good amount of chicken and bell peppers; they even had the traditional topping of lime leaves. My man got the green curry with pork which was prepared excellently and had a mild, more aromatic flavor than Panang. You can choose between white or brown rice, we both chose white rice. I’ve not experienced a Thai restaurant where they give you enough rice for the curry, but I’m used to it by now. Their curries were exceptional and you get a good amount of food. The price range is maybe $ 2 more per item than I’m used to paying, but I guess it’s due to the location. Overall, this is definitely going to become my new, main Thai spot.

^^ 3 ½ Stars. I stopped in for the first time out of the blue today for some take-out while running an errand. As I entered the establishment, I was immediately greeted by a staff member who was incredibly sweet and helpful. In actuality, to cut to the chase, the entire staff was very nice and accommodating. I ordered my Pad Thai to-go and the server immediately let me know there was a second lunch special option for Pad Thai with two spring rolls, and sushi with miss soup or salad for an $ 11.95 lunch special. How can anyone pass that up? So I immediately placed the order. She then pleasantly offered me a seat at the sushi bar while I awaited my take-out order. Another server delivered me a glass of ice water(without asking) while I waited. The restaurant had good vibes all around from the atmosphere to the staff. My Take Out(see pics): There was enough of food that I actually broke this into lunch and dinner. Two nice meals for the price of one. — The Miso Soup — A-Okay x2 for take-out! — The Pad Thai was very bland and a bit on the dry side — The spring rolls lacked crunch, a bit on the soggy side, though adequate — The sushi(Three big pieces including, tuna, white fish and salmon) was perfect. Loved it. In conclusion: After trying both the Thai and sushi, I would definitely grab a seat at the sushi bar and go back for some sushi. The Thai food, not so much. There is great energy in this place! Side bar: This is a great little place that is very clean, nice staff and DELIVERS within a 2 mile radius. This could be a huge bonus for all the downtowners looking for some power meeting deliveries or just to pop in for a calm and relaxing lunch. Either way, I would give it a whirl.

Great service and specials. They have a variety of veggie options and really good appetizers. Their Naruto Veggie roll was really refreshing and filling. The presentation of all the dishes is also very artsy. I usually get veggies and rice cooked in soy sauce. Sometimes I wish there was a wider variety of the vegetables they use, but I also order the most plain thing. I always try to make sure they do not use oyster sauce because a lot of these places tend to put it in a lot of the dishes. My boyfriend usually gets pad thai or pad sew ew. Both are very tasty. They made the pad thai for me without oyster sauce once and it was delicious. The wine prices are great and so are the 2 for 7 japanese beers. My favorite part about this place is its always empty. It seems like they make most of their money off of take out so its nice to go in for dinner and have the place to ourselves. The atmosphere is very south beach/neon art deco look. They have most of the bar lined with pink and blue lights. It seems like pink and blue is their theme. Its definitely cute for the location, but not my taste.

Excellent Thai food here, and so reasonably priced. I am so glad they are close to my job so I can swing by for lunch specials! I found this place through catering at work. They have excellent pad Thai when we cater, so I figured i would try them for other entrees. The first time I came, I had their chicken basil over rice to go. Very good but it prompted me to try it dine in. Today I came for their panang curry, and it was excellent as well. I came around 12:30 and it was packed but I was greeted and seated in minutes. I ordered quickly as well. The salad was crisp and cold, just like I like it. The dressing was sweeter than most ginger dressings, but I really enjoyed it that way. The food was served promptly and was so flavorful. Portions were very large for lunch. I have no complaints! Lots of other lunch specials i would like to try in the future. The lunch special menu alone is two pages of small print(one for Thai and one for sushi/Japanese, so there is bound to be something for everyone :) Parking is tight. They have a small lot and only a few metered spots on the street, so I had to park in a lot across the way near the FedEx office store. Don’t follow in my footsteps for that though. It definitely says ‘Fedex office parking only’ on the lot: p
