D-Link Systems

Just horrible. This company puts the customers through the worst hoops in supposedly honoring its warranty. But its warranty program is simply a scam. They will send you a refurbished product to honor their warranty, which is likely not as good or worse than the product it was replacing. Watch out! There are plenty of other routers out there that will do the job and much better than D-​Link. These guys should be out of business.

I continued calling the D-​Link Online Store customer support, D-​Link Tech Support, D-​Link Customer Support every day for an entire week, and initiated an online conversation with D-Link’s Net Defender support — you cannot call them, email only. The Net Defender email response was insultingly rude wondering why I was contacting them when clearly I should be talking to the people I bought the subscription from. Amazing.
Finally, in desperation, I called D-Link’s business sales office and spoke with a Robb MacMillian. He was the first person I spoke with that was not located off-​shore. Robb listened to my tale of woe and immediately gave me his contact information and promised to get to the bottom of my problem. By the end of the day I had my activation key, and surprise, surprise it came from the previously insultingly rude Net Defender people.
Thank you Robb MacMillian and in the future if I need to re-​order the subscription in a year, I will not order from the D-​Link Online Store, but call Sales directly.

Drasticly improved products these last few years. Setup my apartment with the routers and cams and everything is working so far. Made a call to Tech Support and they helped me get things working.

We originally purchased a D-​Link surveillance camera when a family of birds moved onto our back porch. Doves are known to build haphazard nests and I wanted to watch construction. On day two, they delivered breakfast! Atop a few sticks and twigs appeared my first two baby bird eggs. The live feed camera allowed me to see up close the mother and father take turns nesting, and finally even feeding their ravenous young. (We didn’t eat the eggs afterall). The audio worked well and I could watch from my phone, iPad, and computer. I shared pictures and video with friends and anyone else interested. This life cycle repeated itself several times until winter came.
My husband was living long-​distance that winter, so we moved the camera into my bedroom. I don’t need to elaborate here…
It has also found use with our catsitter so that we could spy on her. (haha, just kidding Valerie H.) She would put the cats in front of the camera to say hi while we were away. I could watch them sleep on the bed and play. It is wonderful.
The camera is now outside our home for extra security and I’ve been very happy with it as an addition to the rest of our home security. It has updates from time to time which I am notified of on my iPad through iTunes.

Picked up a cheap gig switch about a year or two ago as a quick fix for a customer.
It went bad, needed to get RMA .
After filling out online RMA was given case number, attempted to do on line RMA, the site said not valid number.
OK so call Mumbai and after 40 minutes and three unnecessary transfers get RMA.
Unlike every other tech company I’ve dealt with, they want the rubber feet, original receipt, original CD and adapter.
Um who keeps the cd laying around for three years or more?
These folks are clowns
If you want a keeper, go with Netgear.

The worst customer service I have ever received. Besides, they were unable to deal with a technical glitch in their own product. I don’t think a customer deserves this kind of «customer no-​service» from a manufacturer. I will never buy D-​Link product again. Thank you.

This is my view of D-​link until they decide to remove/​replace the DNS-​343 forum moderator that is hurting their business in ways they cannot imagine.
Please, I invite you, the upper management, the engineers, the developers, the R&D personnel, the techs, and QC!!!
GET RID OF YOUR CURRENT FORUM MODERATOR. He is hurting your business by deleting not just creative criticism, but also creative solutions YOUR own developers fail to come up with.
PLEASE, find someone else that actually cares about your future, the future of your products, and more than a PAYCHECK in general.
