Monro Muffler Brake & Service

I came to this shop straight from a car dealer. I brought my car to the dealership for an inspection and oil change. Of course, being a dealership, they came out with list of things that should be done, totaling over $ 1700, the biggie being brakes. They said that my car would not pass inspection without some of the things done. I told them to do something minor, but I would get the brakes done elsewhere, and come back for a re-​inspection if necessary. (Despite all these things I ‘needed,’ they passed the car and put a new sticker on it)
I called Bill from the dealership, and he assured me he would beat anyone’s price. I went in and he immediately put the car on the lift to do a brake inspection. Sure enough, I did need front and rear brakes. He beat the dealership’s quote by a considerable amount, and both he and a technician worked on the car to get me out in just over an hour.
I’ve had not so great experiences at other Monro shops, but I felt I was getting an honest opinion and deal from Bill. I would certainly recommend this particular shop!

Came in here to do an oil Change. My car battery was making problems so I warned them that the car might not start again without a jump. He told me he dosent have a jump and that I would need to buy a battery for $ 150 and then do oil change. I went next door to Valvoline and got a new battery installed for $ 120. I came back here to do the oil change because it’s a bit cheaper and the owner here got all pissed off at me because I bought a battery next door. I was only trying to save $ 30 !!! They changed my oil but had such attitude in the beginning I was gonna take my car somewhere else. In the end he got a little nicer but I would probably not come back here again. I’d rather pay another $ 21 but get good customer service and smiling faces.

I bring my car and my husband’s car here all the time, and I’ve never had any problems. Bill always takes great care of us, and he’s always honest and fair with his pricing.

Our family has come here for years and have never been disappointed. Came in this morning and had my brakes replaced (first time in 189,000 miles!) and was given an honest estimate and they them fixed within a couple of hours. And it was a Saturday morning! Will remain a lifelong customer! Thank you, Bill!

This was 3^rd or 4^th times my wife has gone to this place. Every time my wife called to make an appointment for oil change before, they always said that you did not need to make an appointment.
Yesterday, my wife called them again for an appointment to make sure and they said the same thing as before. told her to Just come! So, my wife went there to get oil changed and all of sudden the guy named BILL who says he is the manager and owner asked my wife to park the car here and there giving her so hard time already and then asked if she had an appointment to get oil changed. she explained what she heard by phone and the guy named BILL said so rudely that making an appointment was preferred. Are you kidding? He said my guys were having lunch right now at 3pm and made her feel she was inconvenience and made her wait because she did not have any appointment.
She did not go to your shop to be upset and was not treated well.
I called them asking if I could talk to the manager. He said he was the manager and owner named BILL. I explained the situation to him and he was the one who was quite rude and said to me that we never treat our customers like that! just kept repeating like this. Oh man, I was just trying to let you know how my wife felt and she was not treated well by you. This guy never tried to listened to me and kept asking my name and my wife name rudely because he never treats customers like that. It is your business and she was the customer. Is it really hard for you to say sorry simply?
I tired to tell him he did not know how to treat customers.
He told me he would not have to say sorry because he did nothing wrong and never treat customer like that. yelling at me a lot too. Is this really something that a guy who owns business can say to their customers? I wonder…

My 2002 Honda Odessey started being very loud. I brought it to Monro’s and the person told me that I needed a whole new system and it would be $ 1200 and he would beat anyones price. I brought it to a local auto repair shop and they replaced the rusted gasket for $ 130 and my problems were solved. Sometimes you don’t need a whole new system, but I don’t trust that they will tell you so.

Prior to Monro, I went to Midas about a week ago and Midas quoted $ 430. Knowing how much a muffler actually costs to buy ($ 109 plus tools and labor a person at home really doesn’t always have and it’s kind of dangerous to lift a car without proper experience), I felt like I was getting a bad deal. So, with hesitation, I went to Monro today and was quoted $ 260! I don’t know how much other cars cost, so don’t quote me on your car, but this was an excellent deal. PLUS they took about 15 minutes! I was so happy on the whole ordeal that I wanted them to know. My little civic and I are super happy now! :-D Thanks guys for helping a little teacher out! I’ll come back for more repairs, for sure.

Very hesistant to bring my car back here. I bring my car to these chain type places just for oil changes since it saves me time and its not much more money to just have them do it. Brought it here on a Saturday for a simple oil change and they called exclaiming I needed a new tire because one had a screw in it. I’m somewhat convinced they put it in as I told them I’d take care of the tire and to leave it and the second I drove off the lot the Tire pressure sensor light came on. It wasn’t on for the hours I was driving it before I arrived at the store. Ended up getting a free tire from the place I purchased them from since it was only a month old (there are good places out there still).
This place is just like any typical chain store trying to sell you more repairs and parts than needed. Tried to convince me to buy rear brakes; pads, rotors, and calipers, $ 800 in repairs– manager explicitly said it was the caliper work that was expensive since mine were «stuck» (which is true as calipers are the most expensive of those parts). Turned down these repairs as well got home jacked my car up come to find out my pads were close to the end so I replaced the pads and the rotors while I was at it and as luck will have it no need for calipers like was suggested. I think the manager or whomever I dealt with at the front thought they could take advantage of a female thinking I didn’t know about car or car repairs.

I’ve been coming here for years with my car, mostly because Bill, the manager, is AWESOME: he left for a year a while back to pursue some other work (so I left too… the replacement manager was kind of a jerk, so I found another shop I trust… see my review for Tosti’s). Anyway, I heard Bill came back so I returned. I get my oil changes their, have had my brakes done there, bought tires there, and whenever I’m worried about something with my car, I take it to Bill… I always feel like I’m in good hands and he doesn’t try to sell me things I don’t need. To me, your auto mechanic is kind of like a doctor & you need to find one you can trust to give you good advice and service at fair cost. This is that place for me. Go see Bill, he’s a great guy & will take good care of you & your car!

I always go to this place for my oil changes. They’re always fast, they rotate the tires, and their prices are fair– around $ 20-​$ 25 for the oil change and rotation. The staff is always really friendly and like other people said in their reviews, they don’t act pushy or try to sell you anything extra. This is my go to spot.

Fantastic, friendly service! I came in desparate after hours, and Bill the manager just happened to be there, and stayed late to change my flat tire. He was speedy, friendly, and a pleasure to work with! I am so grateful, he saved me! I am now a loyal customer.

I came in for an oil change, I didn’t even have to use the Unilocal discount for the 21 $ offer because he said he gave all of his customers that price. There’s also a free tire rotation with the oil change purchase!
He was very nice and didn’t try to sell me on anything else, he also didn’t treat me like I was stupid because I’m a female (which a lot of places tend to do)…
It only took about 40 mins to do, which is great because the dealership had made me wait 2 hours for just an oil change… not the tire rotation as well.
I did not make an appointment but he took me right away… although this was Tuesday at 11am.
This was probably one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with any sort of automobile service. Will be coming back!

My car started making a seriously alarming rattling sound on my way home from work. Since this was the nearest car service center, I stopped in about an hour before closing and hoped for the best. Turns out, my muffler hangers had just gotten slightly loose and needed a quick adjustment. They fixed them up for me at NO charge and refused my offer to at least pay them for their time. Considering I was resigning myself to a new muffler, this was absolutely wonderful!

Monro Muffler & Service in Framingham is a chain company but run by a «local» minded manager. I find that the team is always ready to do their best to help out. They do listen to your concerns and have yet to «brush me off».

We trusted them for several years, giving them hundreds of dollars worth of business. But they screwed up a brake installation. They said they would reimburse us with a check — 3 months and numerous phone calls/​visits later, and nothing. We will never give our business to them until this gets resolved.
