Twice now I have had horrible service from this location and likely will never go back. Had an oil change done here only to notice the level of my oil extremely low which could have damaged my vehicles engine. In addition, there was a young technician who left grease marks in my vehicle. Unfortunately there are only + ratings offered on here otherwise I’d give the the lowest -(negative) rating offered. I will not go back here again and also inform others of my horrific experience.

This place is a total joke. They have no idea what they are doing here. I dropped my car off since Thursday and they still haven’t fixed it for 5 days. I have to keep calling and checking up on my car every day instead of them calling me and telling me what is wrong. Everytime I call, they would say oh we don’t know what is wrong with it yet, we need to look into it more. For 5 days?! When I brought up the issue their excuse was that they only have ONE person who knows how to fix my car. (cavalier?!) really?! They also wanted to charge me extra 150 for «looking more into the car» which they still couldn’t figure out what is wrong. We finally told them we are coming to pick up the car (which we told them a day in advance) when we arrived it still wasn’t ready. I will not be bringing my car here ever. This place should not be in business. Or at least hire ppl who knows what they are doing.

I went to another shop for a tire rotation and they told me that i needed front brakes because my pads were at 30%. they quoted me $ 257.00 for the job which I thought was high so I took my car here instead. after the inspection they told me that my pads were at 90% and didnt need to be replaced at all! This Midas is very honest!

I’m not one to post negative reviews, but this place was ridiculous! I went in to get my oil changed. I waited 3 hours!
Towards the end of my visit, the manager (or owner, not sure) said I had to take a look at my breaks. They told me my breaks were very bad and they needed to be replaced ASAP. They offered to to fix them there for $ 500. I know nothing about cars and was very frightened because they were telling me I shouldn’t be driving on them in such bad conditions.
I didn’t have $ 500 to spend on my breaks at the time and the manager told me I should a least get the front ones done right than in there. He said give me a discount and charge me $ 180.
I told them I’d come back the following week.
I was very scared to drive my car, I even canceled a road trip I had planned.
The following weekend instead of going on my trip I went to another mechanic for a second opinion. He let me know that I still had about 30% life on my breaks!!! And that I could have definitely made the road trip in my car!
The only plus from my experience was that I received a nice discount for the long wait. But it doesn’t make up for the terrified feeling I got when I drove my car thinking my breaks could go out at anytime!

If Midas offers oil change and tire rotation with a big sign out front saying they offer those services. How about you take down the sign stating you offer that instead of wasting my time going in there doing all the paperwork for the guy to tell me he can’t do a tire rotation makes absolutely no sense. Don’t think I will ever be going back there again. Waste of time.
Update: So I received a call on that Tuesday from someone a customer service office to let me know that a district manager or the store manager would be calling me to address the issues that I had over the weekend. That was 3 weeks ago and no phone call. Thanks Midas, one star well deserved.

I will never do business with midas again. They left the engine oil drain plug loose, when they last changed my oil. I had driven 200 miles when i caught it, the next day .by big oil slik on my drive
was almost all the way out!

Went here for an oil change at 1:30 on a Saturday and I got my car back at 3:30. It was a long wait for a 20 minute service. But it was only $ 25 which is pretty reasonable. I would come back here again but I’m not about those wait times! I might make an appointment.

Sorry for the late review, Had an oil change and tire rotation 2 months ago and it was definitely NOT WORTH IT ! Aside from the poor customer service and long wait times, they forgot the MOST IMPORTANT PART ! they forgot to LOCK ONE OF MY TIRES !! I was on my way to the freeway when my rear left tire came flying off ! thank god I was able to pullover on the side and avoiding more damage to my car. They agreed to pay for all the repairs, but they wouldn’t pay for the car rental which they’re supposed to. But instead they want me to drive their busted old Mazda loaner which was parked in the back. Owner was kind enough to lend me his for a couple of days. The worst thing is that my uncle dropped by a few weeks ago and the guys who was working on my car is still there. Just be careful guys have your wheel locks checked. Definitely won’t be coming back.

I don’t like giving negative reviews but I had to in this case. I called in around noon and asked the guy who answered the phone if they did free break inspections and told him my concern. He said bring it by in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later I was there. The guy who running the front desk whose name was Al (Yes I’m about to put this guy on blast right now) was incredibly rude. I explained that the guy I spoke with (whose name I couldn’t pronounce) told me to bring it by within the half hour. Now Al with his rude ass is telling me I have to wait 45 minutes just to get it on the rack.
I know my rotors were not bad and the first thing he tells me after he goes out to my car to take my milage down is my rotors were bad. Keys please? I ran out of there as fast as I could. Customer Service was terrible and so was Al’s attitude. I will take it somewhere else.

If you have any coupons, do not present them until they serve you. The owner, the old gentlemen shown in the pictures is rude and unprofessional. I asked them how long would it take to perform an oil change for my car, without any eye contact, and kept staring at his monitor, his answer to me was there won’t be anyone working on my car for at least a hour, and he cannot give me an ETA on when my car will be done. It doesn’t seem like he’s interested in any business that walks in thats already holding a coupon. I’m bringing my business elsewhere and never coming back to this place. There is 1.5 stars for a reason for this location. I am only giving a 1 star because is not an option to give none on Unilocal.Go to another place for your car maintence (plenty in fremont) and don’t waste your time with that douchebag owner of this place.

I’ve been going here for a while and I’m finally off the hook! Had a prepaid 3 oil change certificate I got from a daily deal website. So in total, did several oil changes and had my Camry’s brakes replaced with widely varying experiences.
What I don’t like is they don’t even try to disguise the fact they’re trying to upsell you with unhelpful items. I’ve had them try to sell me a new car battery by saying battery level is low when we just replaced it a month before quite a few times. They have longer than normal wait times for oil change even on the off hours since they understaff the technicians.
Synthetic oil change is $ 90 and the prepay only gave $ 30 off. Manager will never give you a fair break on the bill unless you negotiate with him. For example, I learned my lesson and bought my own synthetic oil. I was thinking, labor should be the same for regular vs synthetic oil so my prepay should just cover it. Nope, I had to negotiate for that too.
Usually they will do tire rotation and full inspection with an oil change but depending on the technician and manager on duty, whether it’s properly done is doubtful since they’re mum over the details. And since I used a coupon, they will try to skirt doing it until you demand it.
But had positive experiences with regular oil changes and replacing the car brakes. I think paying more definitely gives you better treatment.
I felt locked in from the certificate. Wouldn’t do it again.

I went in to have my oil change, including the courtesy inspection Midas promotes. When my car was brought out to me, the mechanic opened up the hood and after checking some things he quickly handed me the keys. Driving home my radiator blew up! Fortunately a mechanic stopped to help me and shared certain tubes in my engine were loose and not fastened as they should have, and the AAA mechanic shared these problems would have been easily recognized just by opening the hood.
I went back to the Midas in Fremont to see what they would do about the problem-​they would not do anything! The manager said it was not their mistake and they would not take any part in repairing the problem. I asked for the owner’s number to contact him directly and the manager would not provide that. I even calmly asked for the owners name and he would not provide that either, leading me to believe the manager was the owner which only added to my disrespect of the company.
Paul and his team at Midas in San Leandro was a great resource. Being opened late for my car to be towed to. Paul answered questions and ultimately fixed my car. Skip Midas in Fremont and make the drive to San Leandro, it is well worth it.
