Ohhhhhhhhkay… let’s get it out of the way. This place is owned by one of the stars of TV’s Mob Wives: «Big Ang»(aka the Notorious A.n.g.). That said, this review will be fair and balanced and(hopefully) not influenced by this fact. Ambience: The space itself is really beautiful with gigantic arching windows looking out over the Brooklyn streetscape. The décor is perhaps not quite as sophisticated as one might expect of a Dumbo establishment, but its certainly far from the worst I’ve seen. There’s not a lot of furniture — presumably to make way for the dancing and debauchery that comes later in the evenings. Drinks: Hold onto your ass and order a margarita for $ 8. They’re served in large mason jars and pack a serious punch. Staff: We only had minimal interaction with the folks running the place, but the bar was friendly and welcoming. Overall I’d say that this is a decent place to have a drink if you’re in the area — perhaps before or after one of the events going on in Brooklyn Bridge Park.(But expect a different crowd from your average Dumbo watering hole.) A tip: I believe there is an entrance from inside Grimaldi’s itself, but we found our way in by way of the external staircase at the side of the building to the left of the Grimaldi’s entrance.

We are so happy that this space is finally being used! This bar is above Grimaldis Pizzaria and is owned by Big Ang from mob wives. Her husband was there managing when we stopped by and the bartender was super friendly, pouring us stiff cocktails in big mason jars. . It’s a huge room with an upstairs DJ booth, great for private events or just a couple cocktails. It was slow when we went(probably because it was pouring rain outside), but it has great potential.
