Specialties
Our specialty is helping students write effective college and post-graduate application essays. We serve the Washington DC area including Montgomery County (Rockville, Potomac, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Gaithersburg, Olney, Germantown, Poolesville, Silver Spring, etc.), Frederick County and Northern Virginia. We conveniently fit the student’s busy schedule.
The Write Stuff Help will support the student by:
Providing a motivating writing coach;
Fine-tuning the essay to better target admissions officers;
Editing for both grammar and style; and
Alleviating some of the stress the entire family undergoes during the college application process.
In today’s competitive world, a college degree from any old college isn’t sufficient. Whether the student wants to go into arts or engineering, fashion design or financial dealings, the school matters. Employers know that not all degrees are equal, and they usually pay accordingly…
History
Established in 2010.
After Nancy helped her daughter and some of her friends with their college application essays for free, she found she was getting referrals from people she didn’t even know. Perhaps there was a need for this type of business, she thought. Thus, she created The Write Stuff Help.

Business Owner
Nancy Frieder received a degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where she majored in magazine journalism. Besides having authored the book «Hooking Up With Admissions Office – How to Sell Yourself Through the College Application Essay,» she has held reporting and editing positions for various local and national publications. Nancy’s blog, carried by Montgomery Community Media, received the Governor’s Award for community service in 2013.
When helping students with their college and post-graduate application essays, she assumes an editor’s role, just as if she were still working in the field of journalism. Nancy is excellent at motivating students in this way, and – although the work can be challenging – the students seem to enjoy their experience with her.
